That panoramic effect.... did you pre-render the room at every angle? I'm not aware that ags has any 3d effect features.

Actually I do plan on selling my games. so, I want to pay royalties for the music.
I also want to compensate in some way any voice actors I might use in the future, its only fair.

Wow... thanks... you have been the most helpful person on this forum so far.
and the royalties seems so fair..

its OK.. I dont mind the criticism.

maybe I did not pick the best screen shots, maybe I should have put screen shots of the hero transforming into different Animals.
or interacting with the Giant, or then Gnome, or Warlock... there might have been more exciting screen shots I could have put.
And yes, this is a remake of a 80s game.but I've added a few more elements, and changes a few things around, so that the game would make more sense.

I might update the screen shots later on.

OK.. anyway I really want that song in my game... I'm afraid to call the copyright holders and ask how much will it cost me to include it in my game... i'm sure its something I can not afford.

If you dont like it, it's OK. it's your opinion.
I was not thinking on getting anything on steam.. or GoG, right now.. maybe in the future.

I love the graphics... I know people here are into pixel art, and stick figures... but if I like the graphics, I'm sure there will be others that like it as well.

the game already started selling. so obviously, there are people who like what they have seen so far.

The reason why there is no demo, is actually because copies started selling... I twitter that people could pre-order the game, and promised the product for a certain date.
so, I had to focus on meeting the deadline in order to get it out to the people who already paid.

some of the interface I have changed.. save/load menu, etc.... the verb menu, I did not change because it seemed fine the way it was. and changing it would not be critical to the game play.

I am going to start working on a game based on the first man to land on the moon.. the Apollo 11 flight.
I also want to use "Fly me too the moon" as the main theme song.... I have a question if anyone  knows....
Can I just get anyone to sing the song and use it in my game, or are the lyrics copyrighted? how do music rights work?

Thanks for any advice.

I know.. but it will have to wait, I have a trip to take; and I wanted to get the game out before my flight date.
I usually don't program when I'm outside the US, visiting my girlfriend..

Also, I will learn about getting the game on platforms like GoG, and steam....

this are my baby steps right now, I'm learning how to get people interested in what I make.
I'm also trying to find out how to get it to review sites.... I'm no Wadjet Eye Games yet.
so I do not expect, huge sales at first, but hopefully, in time... as I make more games and more people play them;
there won't be any doubt as to weather the game is worth the price.

again, I am new to this.

But I create an executable. run winsetup; say run in window mode, save it. then I zip the game with the config file and download it on another computer. and it does not run in window mode unless I run setup again in the other machine. so, whatever I set config to, does not seem to work when I run in on anther computer.

I'm using AGS 3.4.0

I'm still rather new to working with AGS. however I have noticed a few things that I hope with be fixed/added to the engine.
issues:
1) when you run a game for the first time it defaults to full screen mode, however. full screen mode is not really full screen. the game does not take the entire screen, it is centered with a lot of empty space around the game.
2) the file balloons up rather quickly when you have a game lets say in 800x600 mode with complex images, liked 3d rendered characters and background.
3) if you want to animate the background you are limited to 5 frames.

hopeful solution/additions:
1) full screen mode should automatically scale the game to take up the entire screen. and the game should default to window mode if possible( without the need to run setup).
2) instead of using rle or what ever method you use to save the images. save them in png format, and when the game starts convert them to rle(if needed for speed) in memory.
3) why not add the ability to load a video and loop it in the background... if there is an improved method of compressing images, and then this might not be needed... but it would still be a nice feature to have.

Thanks.

Thanks for the feed back.

I know the game is very simple, it was meant as me testing the waters when it come to making something in AGS. the next game will be more complex and longer.

Thanks again for the feed back.

Thanks, I will upload an update version later on for a very small bug I found.
but if you find any bugs let me know.

again, thanks for trying the game.

Hi I decided to make a very short/simple game somewhat based on Sierra's Mystery House.
I did this to test AGS game making out.

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2191/

You get an invitation to play a game: Find a million dollars hidden in a house and its yours... a somewhat of a remake of sierra's Mystery House.

Please download and test it out.

Thanks

Thanks, the humans in the game actually move very smooth.  It was hard to animated that particular beast, because his legs were built like horse legs not humans, and the walking animation always came out strange. I will post some  more video of me moving the main player around later on.

Again, Thanks
