Recruitment / JavaScript help

Closed. Sadly no one responded. Giving up.

But why closing down AGSA section while AGSA is still live? There could have been announcements on relocation etc.

But as always, the typical answering scheme of AGS Deep State. Answer in oh-so-well reasonable words but actually not to the question. Happens every time. What's next, moving this to the Rumpus Room?

"Where's Peder Johnsen? And foremost his AGSArchives forum section?" some of you may think. Well, I cannot tell you, I only asked Peder and first he didn't know what I was talking about. Sad in a way, he's always been very kind to me, and a lifetime-awarded legend here.

There's also Mark Lovegrove's 'Screen7 TV' stream on Youtube, featuring the latest information and previews of his game studio. Foremost Lorelai by Grim.

No, I said to AGA to rather remove me than block me yesterday in the #ags irc. Also my question if you personally are a qualified mod was a question, not a "question".

"I don't use mod powers to get my way in debates."

Why was I blocked from any forum action like replying or articulating my own view here then?

The Rumpus Room / Who made Snarky moderator?
Mon 08/10/2018 21:44:51
off this thread is a nice oh-so-well-sensible ending to a thread from 16 May 2018 actually you digged up on 03 Oct 2018. Of course with your typical negative intent, as usual, since you could've also linked to a normal Twitter post of Mark.

Who actually made you moderator here, Gunnar? Cannot see why you should be in charge. Also when did we vote here for you (or any moderator at all)? All I know is that Peder who is actually paying all the bills since years allows you to be here.

Hello Mark,

thanks for your reply! And keep on swimming against the stream, Stickman on Fire (which a good thing in my book). And also for defending me against them, very kind! Will bookmark your Twitter, and E-mail is also a good way to stay loosely in contact. Nothing else to say on this public forum from my side.

Only one thing: Snarky, hereby I give you my second warning, and this will be my last.

General Discussion / Where`s m0ds?

Where's m0ds?

He has been here like forever. Achieved a lot, like leading Indiana Jones and the Fountain of Youth (at least the first 15? years). Also directing Ben Jordan movie at Mittens, Kinky Island kickstarter, initiating AdventureX, hosting the AGS radio show, running AGS Bake Sale charity, publishing commercial adventures at Screen7... What a list!
And now he seems to have only guest status, after stepping back as a moderator some time ago?

Mark, thank you for your commitment!

Decentralized, community-driven, no ads - Mastodon is shaping up as a great alternative to the big social networks like Twitter and Facebook. Right now there are 1,3 mio users spread out among more than a 2500 instances. Mainly in France and foremost Japan though, but others are catching up.

Microblogging is neat. Maybe it could be an option for our adventure community too (e.g. preferably with an own instance).

#adventuregamestudio

EDIT:
Lately there is also RSS/Atom-feed integrated.
German-speaking users might want to listen to this interesting video talk, giving a fair review also on the downsides.

ibispi just told me he won't work on the super-nice CYOA template anymore. And qptain_Nemo is busy with his secret commercial project.

So please forget what I just said above.

The even older text adventure community on the Intfiction forums handles different engines and approaches (CYOA, parser) historically open. Their loosely connection is the element of having text of some sort.

And since we always respected and cherished non-adventures made with AGS already, we should be fine too with a broader community forum allowing other tools.

Maybe a problem with that late change might be that many members already moved away to other places (Discord only, dedicated forums e.g. for Adventure Creator, Godot, Love2D, etc.). So idk what' better, opening AGS forums for all tools or only very few chosen ones (AGS3, MonoAGS and XAGE).

/* Personally, I'm settling on a small CYOA tool ibispi and now qptain_Nemo are coding just for me. */

qptain_Nemo told me that MonoAGS most likely will run on Arch Linux ARM too.

So, green light also from my side:

Or continue here with a new thread. (Would be sweet to see bicilotti coming back as a community leader.)

Saddening that AGS' lifecycle is coming to an end. Hopefully something new will take it's crown/ cup...

Looking forward to solder Honeywell pushbuttons on ARM singleboard computers in 2018.

Even adventures like Grundislav's A Golden Wake are running on an ODROID C2 (using ExaGear Desktop.

Anyway - this means war.

Spoiler

Actually, it doesn't. Nice of him to mention our little project in such popular gaming publication.
