General Discussion / Great Al Lowe Interview
Fri 14/09/2012 16:12:06
Im guessing a lot of people may already listen to the podcast All Gen Gamers but if you dont there is a nice treat for Leisure Suit Larry/Sierra Fans.

Al Lowe creator of Leisure Suit Larry talk for the best part of 2 hours about LSL and his time at sierra and is pretty much given the floor for the whole show.

One of the hosts is an ex sierra employee also and is how they scored such a great guest.

Grab it here http://www.allgengamers.com/home/2012/9/13/episode-109-al-lowe-the-lounge-lizards.html

Ok here's my entry

Once Upon a Time in Keel
==================

320x200
16bit
AGS Editor v3.2.1

The guidelines were that it must involve a pub somehow so i decided to not only have a pub but have 3 pubs.

I haven't made a game with AGS since 2004 so had to re-learn a lot of things.

Description
============

In the sleepy village of Keel the pub trophy has been stolen and it's up to Al the Landlord to find it.

Merry Xmas

I'm going to be doing my xmas tradition of playing Broken Sword 1 and 2 due to the usual lack of anything decent on Uk TV again.

The Rumpus Room / Re: How did you find AGS?

The excellent first issue of Retro Gamer magazine back in Jan 2004 had a small collection of AGS classics including the Rob Blanc Trilogy id only just got into using PC's and didnt have internet access so had to book 1/2 hour slots at he library and save games to floppy disks to take home and play.

Ive arranged a collection with someone from freecycle as there wasnt any interest here. Mods feel free to lock post as its redundant now (not that im telling you what to do)

I was given a Gateway 500 a few years back for spares for my old PC it doesn't have any ram as i put that in my old PC. Apparently there was a problem with the bit that goes to the monitor but I'm not sure if thats correct. It has a DVD Reader and a Zip 100 Drive it also has a floppy Drive as well. The PC is very large so posting it is a no go so whoever wanted it would have to pick it up in a car or van. I live in the Lincolnshire Area of England and i will give whoever wants this my address and arrange a time to collect.

I also have an Albatron KX400+ Via KT333 Motherboard with cooling fan and manual which was given to me. The motherboard appears to have a on board graphics card and processor.

They are never going to be used by me and are just taking up room in my already over crowded house so whoever wants the bits can take it for free.

Ill also throw in a retro Performance joystick if you want

I also discovered my old Iomega 100 USB External Zip drive minus the power adapter and usb cable which ill give away as well

Please only post if its directly related to wanting or enqiring about the bits because i offered this on another forum and it ended up being full off replies about how little they know about pc internals and has steered way to far off topic. Plus i keep checking and thinking theres interest and it turns out it isnt.

I searched with  google and the search on this forum before posting im not a noobie.

Hi does anyone have a walkthrough for Jack the Ripper - Solve The Mystery (Gametek) 1994. Not the Adventure Company Jack the Ripper. Ive only found one premise before the time ran out.
#14
ive written a walkthrough if your completely stuck
but before clicking on the link remember this

Getting stuck is part of the lure of adventure games.

I mean if you could have just blazed your way through Broken Sword without getting stuck you would feel ripped off.

If this still hasnt disuaded you then here it is

I had this happen just now by accident when i imported a
16 bit background in i had forgot to change the colour depth to 16 bit so it was on the default 256 colours.
I got a message saying that the image was 16 bit and my game was 256 colours and that the room would be unusable. I tested it and and i got the blue screen. i then went back and changed the colour depth to 16bit and it was fine.

Maybe it has something to do with the colour depth
hope this helped

In C.O.A.C.B you play the role of a cat named Frank who also happens to be a burglar.

Upon being caught by the police he tells them about a burglary but rather than him just saying evrything you act it out.Sort of a flashback if you wish.

Ill post some screenies later

Get it here
