Holla!

My best game is WHORE. That's

Without Stud High
Hold'em
Omaha/8
Razz
Eights or better Stud

Goldmund hangs around the poker scene (so I know he has mad shorthanded skills, yo) and I've had a weird encounter with Boyd, but I don't know if he actually plays. Yeah, I'm in for a tourney.

I'm sorry to bring such a unconstructive post to the table, but I had to bring this up regarding the MI2 ending...does anyone have a copy of that thread from aaaaages ago analysing that ending in great detail?

Sylpher had it archived on his website, but it seems to be offline now. http://www.sylpher.com/oldness.html

So let's use the Wayback Machine! http://web.archive.org/web/.../http://www.sylpher.com/OldForum/SecretMi.htm

Nice tries.
Another idea would be to finish adventure mode with zero deaths. I unlocked Earth in under one hour and with 11 deaths, so it should be doable if very frustrating.

BlueSkirt, by finishing the adventure mode you unlocked the same seven planets in arcade mode. When I completed them all again in arcade mode I unlocked Uranus. It's actually pretty neat because, as you said, it makes sure the player didn't just get lucky.

I have a question of my own though. To my surprise no other planet was unlocked after I finished Uranus. How do I access the remaining bonus levels?

Ah, 84 rules, it's my favourite level followed by the last couple sun ones.

Spoiler
From memory: Don't leave the top two chambers as long as there are still blocks in them. Also don't start by filling up the lower chambers with the blocks from the top right one. What you need is to get three blocks behind Tiltor in the top left chamber, start with putting only two blocks in the chamber on the lower second level (Left - Right - Left- Right). Then tilt to the save spot between the top two chambers and spin round so one block from the second level falls to your right, where you can tilt it in the top left chamber. The spin move should be something like Right - Right - Right. Repeat one more time. Go back to the top left chamber and NOW fill up the lower chambers with the blocks from the top right chamber. Then tilt to the now empty top right chamber and put the three remaining blocks from the top left chamber in the lower chambers. I think you need to spin round one more time in the right chamber to get them all out, but if you made it this far you should be fine. Follow the last block to the whirl!

Ok, I replayed it on arcade mode. The basic strategy is to spin round a few times to get those blocks to the other side of the room.

The game is ace. Stage 84 is a very clever puzzle and almost drove me mad.

Sup!

Wow, I'm still working on this.

You basically got it right, but what I actually did was to replace the characters using a font editor after I found the corresponding ones.

Maybe it helps if list them.

Code: ags

QWERTZ (input)     key code     QWERTY (what AGS displays)

    àŸ                 45             -
    Ã,,                 34             "
    ä                 44             '
    Ö                 58             :
    ö                 59             ;
    Ü                123             {
    ü                            [nothing]
    Y                 90             Z
    y                122             z
    Z                 89             Y
    z                121             y

According to this ASCII chart the key code for "ü" should be 129, but AGS doesn't react to that.

So yeah, to make a working parser I need AGS to recognise the "ü" key.

If you were talking to me, oh mighty pumaman, I was just wondering, I was surprised (if its true)to find out Squinky was black, I had come to associate his aviator with him, and was surprised to find out this piece of information, I am not DISTERBED by it, i was just surprised to hear it.

Finally a reason to get an avatar.

All I can say is if you liked Novo Mestro download Los Jovenes De La Guerra. You're the only one who can help you with your other problems (except maybe HP Lovecraft.)

So, I got advice to play the game again and ZOMG!

QuoteCongratulations, a new child was born this year!

Now the design is getting somewhere. Another suggestion I have is to credit users for their ideas though.

Yeah, I played it some time ago and liked it a lot, interestingly especially the design. Imho it's more of a statement than a compelling game, even if the statement is a little flawed. You know, it may sound cynical but if  the game would be an accurate portrait of reality, Africa wouldn't have today's problems: their population would just die out.
In reality the population is still growing though, the problem is rather to feed the many newborns. So maybe the player should get some new kids regularly, no matter if he's very poor or not. All critics aside, kudos.

Finally the forums have the slick script-kiddie look they always deserved! The avatars of some guys also look strangely better. And while this is exiting news, we have to accept that Wintermute was just plain better from the beginning on, I even wonder why it took so long for them to take over. Congratulations.

Hi!

I'm working on a German parser and encountered a problem. While I could add most special characters using SCI Studio, it didn't work with the lowercase 'ü', as AGS doesn't react to the key press in the first place.

Now, I think this has to do with the differences between the QWERTZ and QWERTY-keyboard, e.g. I replaced ':' with 'Ö' or '-' with 'ß' and so on. This method worked for all special characters except the lowercase 'ü'!

Unfortunately I'm no expert on this, but could it be that the QWERTY has less keys than the QWERTZ-keyboard, missing the one that ended up as the lowercase 'ü'? Has it something to do with the Extended ASCII Codes?

I know of this tracker entry and I have read this thread, but I think my problem is a bit different.

So, is there workaround? Thanks for any help.

2. Billions of insects.
3. I don't think so.

New ones!

1. How many AGSers does it take to drain the blue cup to the dregs?
2. Why did you cancel your first game or--if you haven't--why does it suck?
3. Don't you agree that this blind Latvian professional photographer is a genius?

Clear win for Emily as Jonny would fall in love with her half way through the fight.

It's the real star of Chris Quest, Captain Mostly! That's what he looks like, right?
Nevermind the palette and everything else, I had to draw it on my TV screen.
