P.S.
A photo of yourself might be good to include, but I don't see where it would fit within the composition of the 'About Me' page.
How about where the word 'hello' is?

i did actually experiment with this, but personally i didnt think it suited.

Looks pretty good :). Are you including descriptions for the illustrations, though? If I were an employer, I would definately want to know what they represent and where they came from.

I like the color scheme a lot, very natural colors and then the title page is like ka-pow! red. Although, on the title page I might differentiate it more by changing the placement of the text (although I'm not sure, it looks pretty cool right where it is). Are the rest of the portfolio pages gonna be the same color or not?

Also, you should probably have all the pages titled exactly as they are in the 'Contents' page. All of them are so except for the 'Contact Me' section. Furthermore, you might wanna think about the hierarchy of the titles on the pages - should you include some way of labeling the portfolio pages in a similar way, such as for example "Portfolio. / Illustration. /" or keep it the way it is? It's still gonna be just 10 pages, so maybe you don't have to worry about that.

P.S.

Just as an inquiry, did your school tell you about which medium of portfolio is the most important to have? I'm now working on my web portfolio, so I'd like to ask if they told you how important it would be to have a printed or electronic (pdf) portfolio to give to employers?

thanks for the feedback! with regard to your comments....

1. Sorry i forgot to mention these werent the 100% final pags. The portfolio pages do hold descriptions of each piece of work.

2.The portfolio pages all have a slightly different pastel hue. So the illustration page is green, but the motion, web etc all have different subtle tones for the sake of consitency.

3. I understand what you mean about the contacts page, and the only reason i broke from this was because i felt simply putting 'contact me' followed by contact details would perhaps seem a little obnoxious.

With regard to portfolios, the medium depends on the type of job youre going for. If its screen based work then its good to have a mixture of a pdf and a website. But more print based work obviously requires physical work to be shown.

Hi all,
sorry for the lack of my presence recently, ive been pretty hectic between doing freelance work and looking for full-time work. Been putting together a PDF portfolio to showcase my work whilst my websites being redone! Here's a few examples, let me know what y'all think :) (P.S: these are only at 25% of the full resolution, hence the illegible text)):

UPDATE:

New logo (above), and the new yeki site is almost here, complete with the official LOTLL minisite! Woo! I also have a new team member coming aboard, but i cant say too much!

Exciting times i'm sure you'll agree. :P

I like it, it seems as if you have your own unique style. My quick crit would be that the eyes seem to lack depth, and seem a bit glazed. Apart from that i like it!

A lot of effort involved, but the dimensions of the car look very iffy to me. Not to take anything from him, but i really wouldnt spend the time in MSPaint to draw something like that just to prove a point.

Hi All,

No i havent abandoned it, and im not lost, it's just that i've started 'real' work, so everything bar that has had to be shelved up until now....

But good news! I've just ordered my new Intel-based Macbook Pro, which as some mayknow has the ability to run Windows XP as well as OSX. This of course means i'll now have full use of AGS, and can start to make steady progress! Im also relatively quiet in terms of work for the next week, so im taking the time to redesign my yeki website in Flash, which will feature a full LOTLL section. I'll save any new bits and updates for the site, but it should be up in the next 7 days.

thanks for your patience!

Yes, I suggest you look at folds in screencaps and other things you use as reference and trying to copy them.

The face: you're copying essential aspects of the girl's face like where the eyes and mouth is more or less and it holds up because it's based on a screencap, meaning, the geometry of the face is mostly there. But your inidividual rendering of those parts needs a lot of be desired. As I said, controlling forms, and clean lineart.

Yeah, this is something im pretty new to, but i'm enjoying it so i'd like to get into it more.

Cheers for the tips!

Nice stuff, Dan.  I've never really known anyone to put two fingers over a trigger, though ;)!

It's reffed from a DVD still, and i can confirm that shes a girl who likes to use two fingers.

Thanks all, yes the work is inspired directly by GTA, the brief emphasised this was to be the look, so ive done a lot of research on it.

Helm, anysuggestions on the folds? It's something ive always struggled with.
