I won't be original at all and just say Broken Sword 1, Grim Fandago and Monkey Islands 1,2 and 3

For the first time in my life I feel mainstream!

EVENWOLF!!! YAY! I remember you very well! I seem to recall a thread about Michael Moore asking you for a tape of your movie or something :) Although it's been 7 years so it might have been Gary Moore asking you for an adhesive tape...

Hey guys!

I wonder what gaming sites do you trust for game reviews?
I'm following Gamespot and IGN but I hate it that they promote shitty first person shooter blockbusters most of the time.
Also both of them get advertisements from big game companies so how objective can they be?

I also follow adventuregamers which is very good (although it gives MI3 3/5 stars and it's my favourite game of all time) but it's only for adventure games.

What I'm looking for is honest reviews for gamers who want challenging and interesting games and coverage of blockbuster as well as indie games...

Suggest away...

I have a question as well

When I post a link from my site (www.balderduck.com) on facebook I get to pick a picture from it. The selection includes only secondary pictures and avatars that are in the left and right columns but not the main pic which is the comic

I'm using comicpress, which is a wordpress related software for comic sites

I've looked at a lot of forums and suggestions and none of them seem to work. Has any of you had that problem or have any idea how to fix it?

@Layabout

Yeah! You had to back then! :) And people would be "What? 12 MB? I'm not wasting my time to download that!"

:)

@Ali

Monkey Island? Never heard of it! Are you making this up?
How on earth did you hear about Robert Redfords Saves The Day? It was wildly unpopular! :)

@Ghost

So you're the one that ruined it for everyone eh? I KNEW IT!

@cpage

Hey! I remember you! :) Yes, looking back RRStD wasn't a very good game but at least for the people in the community it was fun. If anyone wants to see the old gang most of them play - or voice act on the INTRO of RRStD 3 :) M0ds of course in the starring role!

I'll maybe stick around and try to find the time to start something new...
can't make any promises though...kinda busy on the www.balderduck.com site

I haven't played the game yet, but I thoroughly enjoyed it

HEY MODS! :) Nice to see a familiar...name(?) :)

Well as I said I'm not here to make judgement of the new forums as I know nothing about them! But the old forums were a very silly place indeed!

Well hello to everyone!

Ali, I must say, I played some AGS games before coming to the forum, and Nelly Cootalot is just FANTASTIC! It's exactly my kind of game. Wonderful cartoony graphics, great humor, reasonable puzzles, all in all one of the best games around (and I didn't say one of the best AMATEUR games, I said one of the best games, period.)

I don't know how the forums are like now
Back then the community was very very active and the people involved were some of the most interesting and funny people you could ever meet in your lifetime.
Maybe it's still is this way...I can't tell

Well when I wrote that post I was under the impression that the AGS community has grown a lot and was a lot more active, it's strange to see you talk about AGS being dead, as well as seeing that the forums move a lot more slower than what I remember. It's quite a surprise to me.

@snakeeyes Sure I remember you! And yeah for some reason I used "I was the one without any pants on" as my catchphrase :)

Wow! Thanks!

Thanks for digging up that thread as well! :) it's really REALLY moving to read it...

Hello AGSers

Most of you will not know me and I'm not sure how many of the people I know from back in the day are still here, or even remember me...
It's been 8 years since my last confession...eeeer...I mean post! I can't believe it's been so long! I remember those days very fondly! Little Willy's posts, M0ds' highly inappropriate pictures (!), Chrile and his obsession with penis pumps (not really!) and CJ helping out everyone. Naranjas, Goldmund, Roadkill, Mr. Colossal, Skid and of course Helm and Spyros the other 2 G.A.C. members! And so many many more people that I'd like to list...

As for me, well, I somehow couldn't manage the time anymore so I haven't been part of this community or trying to make a game for a real long time.

What I've been up to since then is
- working as a teacher
- Playing some music with the Empty Frame (http://www.myspace.com/theemptyframe)
- Doing my webcomics - recently being translated to English (http://www.balderduck.com)

and generally getting older

So why did I post here again after all these years?

well, here's a bunch of reasons:

1) NOSTALGIA: I was reading the AGS wiki and checking out some new games, and I really wanted to see what my old friends are up to. So if you're one of the guys that knows and remembers me feel free to PM me or add my facebook account (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/profile.php?id=100001875911060)

2) A REQUEST: The links for my old games (ROBERT REDFORD SAVES THE DAY and INFERNO) are missing and I can't seem to find them anywhere on my old archives. If anyone keeps an archive of games and has any of these two, please PM me I'd really like to play them again

3) WISHFUL THINKING (?): I got really jealous playing those AGS games, and I'd really like to make one again! I don't know if I can make the time, but eversince I got this wave of nostalgia I've also got a wave of ideas about games...we'll see...we'll see...

General Discussion / Re:Saddam Captured?

Saddam's captured = Bush will win the elections = what this whole war was all about + enstating a new tyrant that's friendly to the US

Everybody's happy!

except maybe those who died (both American and Iraqi) , and their families.

sorry for being so blunt. That's the way I see things. I'm glad a tyrant has fallen though.

General Discussion / Re:CJ is not Jesus
Thu 13/11/2003 16:06:32
But isn't it wrong to reffer to Jesus Christ as Chris Jones? And isn't it written in the good book of "Bob the programmer" that Jesus was for christianity, what Chris Jones is for AGS?

Our local priest often says that "when Jesus preached on the Sina mountain, the people looked upon, and admired him as if he just released a new Beta for AGS"

Isn't that blasphemus?

I mean Jesus can't code that well!

I just got this game. I played a little bit, and the graphics are quite nice, though they look much nicer in the actual game than in the non-interactive sequences.

What really bothers me so far is the lack of humor. But the story is interesting, and all in all it's a good thing to see an adventure game in 2d (even if it has some 3d feel stuff too) that looks a bit like good old adventuregames
#18
Well I've already posted it...so if the moderator wishes, he can change the category (and PLEASE put the other reviews there ;))

As for my avatar, I changed it because you were right, if it makes even one person feel uncomfortable, it should be changed.

And yes Gilbot! I have the full body pic. of ERNEST!!
#19
You're probably right...So I changed it...

(what a world we're living in! a child of 12 isn't allowed to see the world's greatest miracle , a couple o' bouncing boobs, and is allowed to see Ernest movies...oh the irony of it all!)

Allrighty!

Whenever CJ can then.

How about writing some new reviews for it then??? and rate the game too !
