Hi,

I have this strange problem:
If I use 1024x768 resolution in my game, the debug mode is not working, it give's me this error:

There was a problem initializing graphics mode  1024 x 768 (16-bit).
Problem: ' Window size not supported')
Try to correct the problem, or seek help from the AGS homepage.

Possible causes:
* your graphics card drivers do not support this resolution. Run the game setup program and try the other resolution.
* the graphics driver you have selected does not work. Try switching between Direcct 3d and directdraw.
* the graphics filter you have selected dows not work. Try anther filter.

It works fine when playing without debugger. And all other resolutions works fine too...

I have tried to change the possible causes but didn't help either.

Windows size not supported, what does that mean?

Any help is welcome :)

This sounds interesting. Everytime I see an rpg game made by Ags, it get's my attention.
But this one get's even more attention from me because it is inspired by Fallout!!

It would be very nice to see screenshots from the battle-system...

Anyway, good luck with this!

Yeah, I liked Carnivále very much, on of my favourite series. Shame that it was cancelled...

But i'm not sure if it would work as an adventure game...

This seems to be an very interesting project. It is always nice to see more RPG-games made by AGS!!!

Can you give more details about the battle-system?

Good luck, I will definetly try it when you release it!

looks simple but still somehow nice :).

Good luck for this!

BTW: I know this is not the critics lounge, but I think that the main character should have atleast somekind of shadow. This seems to be ignored in 95% in AGS-games.

This looks very interesting! I really hope that the battle-system works nicely, it is the heart of these games in my opinion :).

The story sounds interesting and the backgrounds are looking very nice, but I think that the main character is not in the same level of quality as the backgrounds.

But it still looks very good. Looking forward to this one!

I liked the demo! If you can keep the same quality level in the future, this could be a fantastic game!

Good luck!

Heh, looking good.

I wish you guys luck to finish this project :).

The new style is looking extremely nice!

Hopefully it won't last long before the game is released...

Doh, I feel like stupid now...

Thanks to you GarageGothic :)

Well, like I said the flashlight now works, but now I realised that I can't click on any hotspots and stuff like that. That's probably because the gui is on top of them?

So I believe that there is a solution to this so I don't have to always turn the gui off to be able to interact with the stuff on the screen?

A big thanks to who give the solution to this :)

Like what? We're no mindreaders!

Really? :)

I tried excatly liked that before, and the result was something really not what it supposed to be.
The circle weren't even near the mouse cursor.

So I wonder what is wrong...?

EDIT: I got it working now the way it should be.
Thanks to all the helpers!

I got it working in 320x200 resolution just fine.

But how do I do the same trick in 800x600?

I tried the same method with 800x600 in mind ofcourse, but result was something unwanted :P

I want to make own flashlight effect but I don't know how :(

I have made many seacrhes and found this what dkh wrote in flashlight plugin thread:

create a GUI with a black rectange that has a transparent circle in it and position this GUI so, that the center of the circle is always where the mouse currently is. That's just a bit of playing around with offset values, and then you can enable or disable your flashlight by showing or hiding this GUI.

So do I just do new gui which is black, that is rectangle is it...

How do I make the transparent circle to the gui? Do I make it with paint program like Paint shop pro or what?
And how do I center the circle so that the mouse cursor is center of the circle. With offset values, but don't know excatly how...

Finally, do I move the flashlight with the gui.setposition(mouse.x,mouse.y); ?

Played it and liked it pretty much.

I especially like the graphics style in this game, but I feel, that the player character is not in the same level as other graphics. And his walking animation could be better...

But the overall atmosphere is something I really like in this one and that's why i'm still wanting to play the full release as soon as possible!

I just finished the game.

I liked it. It wasn't very long, but it was very enjoyable form beginning to end.

The minigame was great extra :)!

Hope to see more games from you!

I like the look of this one.
Can't say much of the story yet  :P.

I like the idea, that the game is sometimes from 1st person and sometimes just in best camera angle. Very original or atleast I can't remember a game that use similiar technic.

Good luck for finishing it!
