The Backgrounds really fit a horror game....

Good luck on finishing this....

Well, i think the problem of the manly look is mostly because of the ega graphics.... 16 colors is not much to make a nice looking face, so in that way, i still think for that time, they look pretty good.

Making them into vga is probably more difficult then just creating a new one from scratch, because you have to stay true to the original wich only has few colours.

Well i don't think i 'll take time to remove the textbox... i just was bored and started filling up the old screenshot.... it was never the intention to recreate it fully, but at the end, it looked pretty good, so i also did the dress and the face.....

Thanks for all the comments....

I indeed tried to stay true to the original.... Bunnymilk, your comment on the left arm are so true.  Funny i didn't see it before that the arm at the left.  The folds, indeed don't look that good.

Also the fold on her breast, is indeed a bit too much...

Thank you for your comments.

I like these images very much, I don't think the black is a problem...
I presume that the characters can't walk in the dark areas....

Perspective looks ok...

Very good work  :)

Thu 19/01/2006 10:59:57
Hey everybody, about a year ago, i made some images based upon screenshots from LSL3.
I recently got back to them and i made a small tutorial on how i created them.

I hope it can be of some use....

I must agree, nobody opens up his favorite drawings software and start creating high-quality images.... it's a process which takes time, but using this forum, you will be able to use tips & hints from other people.....

Hello all,

thnx for the comments, tips and more.... will try to be more patient when i do another one.... but as said, trying to recreate a 16 color image to highresolution is indeed not easy, and after a while you have the tendency to forget the original and just go and make your own version..... ;)

One last thing, the one comment i saw a lot was the one about the lines on the right lower side, those are not shadows on here face, but are included in the hair layer, actually those are left overs from spraying the hair, i left them because i would look like some few hairs were falling over her chin... guess that was not a good move  ;D

Well, it's done,

if it was a screenshot for an real project, maybe it could use some more refining....

Some info :

total time to create : about 6 hours.
The whole image is created using the following tools in photoshop
Airbrush, Smudge, Burn and dodge to create the face using different exposure and opacity settings.
Total image has about 23 layers.

I will prob start another one next week, i'll create a tutorial then, maybe it can be usefull for other people here....

Hey,

i am pretty sure they eyes are the same size, maybe it's because of the make-up laying pretty thick....

Anyway, got a new update here... i created the mouth, worked some more on the eyes and started working on the right part of the hair.

Enjoy

Original

For the eyes what did I change.....

Added some soft shadows at the top of the eye, just like Jaz suggested.
Made the pupils a bit larger
Added a small white dot to make the eyes more alive
Deleted and added some black around the eyes

Will give it a try later this evening, and use your tips...

Hey,

another update, only have to do the right side of the hair, neck, and the lips(which prop is the most difficult to get right)

I am drawing at a resolution of 320x200 but have resized it to 640x400 to make it better viewable, also added some grain to get the sierra effect from the 90'ties..... :)
Also added some make-up to make her more haba haba...

not sure how i can add the image to the message itself, so here is the link

Well, the eye brows, i haven't created them yet.... the eye lashes could use some more refining....

Good points on the makeup, when the face is done, i prob should add some.

Just a remark, i am not working on a game or lsl3 remake, i am just recreating some ega screenshots to vga for practicing my photoshop/drawing skills....

Thnx for the comments....
