I'd like to apolagise for the long thread firstly. :)

I really wanted to try and improve my Pixel Art and grasp of Human Anatomy, so I found a Stock image from Deviant Art and decided to start from there. I'm generally unsure how to go about drawing a human, (On paper, I am a terrible artist, I find it thrustrating drawing stick figures properly!) What I have is what I've learnt and adapted through numerous books I've gone through over the years.

Firstly: The original stock image. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/38696624/

Basically, This is how I started off and progressed.

I am really hoping I can get some tips on how to start creating a character, and how to pose them correctly, (Which is a problem I had in the end. Which gave the character an unnatural pose)

Once I created the basic shapes and fixed up some details, I went on to colouring. Another flaw of mine, I usually just decide the point of my light source, and from the edges, colour inwards with a lighter, or darker shade. I'm looking for ways to improve or give a better effect.

I need some help on my pose, in the original stock, she's siting down, with her arm supported on the floor, but now it looks like she's in a sit-up esque' pose with her arm supporting HER up. Any help appreciated.

I like to think I've improved from the day I stumbled apon these forums two years ago when I was 11, and started scribbling some ideas down.

I was going through my first thread on this forum, (Was on a different account I had created a long.. long time ago.. ) and found my very first character.

(Nope.. That's not zoomed.. amazing resolution eh?, used for spectaculism)

Tallented... Wasn't I?

Sorry about any spelling mistakes I may have made, I STILL am only 13!
(Shamless atempt for pity points)

Thanks in advanced.

Thanks for the help and tips! Ben, I took your advice and made him stand upright. I think he looks brickload better personally. I tried to lift his legs and give him some more lift, to prevent that shuffling motion that you mentioned.

(Sorry, Havn't yet readied to edges so it can be properly imported in the game, just leaving it like this for now).

Currently, I have three little boggles, Should I add more frames to add a bit more of a fluid motion? Is his tail much to 'fidgity' with motion? And do you think I should leave that yellow spikey frindge on his tail. It's mainly the motion right now I should be working on.  :D

I'm not looking forward to doing his forward and backward motions though, I'm not to sure how I should be doing the leg and feet positions on those! ><.

Thanks again guys!

Sorry, This is probably about the second walk cycle I've ever made. (It still counts as a walk cycle if it's not a human..right?  :D) I decided I'd try to make a cartoonish dinosaur'esque creature.

I'm 13 and I have no sense of anatomy whatsoever! I don't quite like the pose, I feel as though he's bent over far to much, as if he's actually supposed to be standing upright. I'm not quite sure!

I tried going for the front view, but I'm not to sure about it. To me, it dosn't look like he's heeling over, he looks like a stumpy little creature, with a roundish body.

So what do guys thing? Any pointers? This is all set up in layers and vectors, so I can edit motion and parts easily enough.

Thanks in advanced.

Very sorry about that! I'm not too sure how to go about deleting the thread.

I've been lurking on these forums for far to long. I've seem to been forgetting my accounts and having to create new ones over the years. (Sorry about that!).

I just really though you would enjoy this, I did. A lot.

Sorry, I realise this isn't completely about adventure games, but it's still gaming, and it IS Ron.  :)

I was just wondering if the idea of making a cartoon\movie type thing with ags has ever been thought of. Sort of like a few giant cutscenes. I couldn't really see anything stoping the idea. I wanted to hear you opinions.

I think that's absolutely beautiful. Reminds me of the scene in broken sword when your in the mountains.

Hehe, great game. Gave me a laugh. Im stuck though :p

What do i do with the prints? Oh and one bug. If you go back into your room from the apartment hallway you'll end up in the very top area and you can't move. Overall good game.

Absolutely great work mate, It's probably just my but it seems to get a little to dark around the bottom right side maybe?. It just makes it feel sorta of a gloomies darkish feeling. Just my opinion.  Overall great backrgound.

Yeh that's exactly what i was looking for, It dosn't matter whether i do it in paint or ags, etc. You think there's any tutorials for doing it?  The quality of graphics would be much better with anti-alaising in the characters.
Overall thanks in advanced guys.

This isn't quite a technical question but i was wondering if transparancy is possible in Ags. If so couldn't we possibly anti-alaise (or however it's spelt) the characters on the outside? Sorry if i posted inthe wrong section or did anything else stupid. My first post ever.  :)
