Messages - Flop

Well, this certainly looks promising. As I'm a big fan of both vampires and story driven games, this sounds like it is right down my alley. I hope you will feed us progress reports once in a while (maybe with a screenshot thrown in here and there :)).

Do you have any idea of when it will be finished? I know it's difficult to answer that, and you may not want to, which is perfectly alright, but I felt that I had to ask. :)

*bump*

Any news? It's been a while, so I thought I'd ask.

Sorry for doubleposting btw.

Well, I for one am glad that you're keeping it in. Although I do agree with GG that it's ridiculous when you think about it, it's still part of the original. Besides, as someone mentioned, the game takes place in the 80's and back then people actually managed to smuggle guns onto airplanes.

Also, the fact that Sonny just happens to be at the right place at the right time, is no more ridiculous than John McClane in the Die Hard movies. Oh wait, that's actually very ridiculous. :D

Okay, I see them now, and I''m definitely impressed. I'm looking forward to playing the finished game, and I hope you'll keep us posted of your progress. :)

This sounds awsome. I'm a huge PQ fan, and it's always bothered me that they never made a VGA version of the second one. So thanks a lot, man. :)

Now, it sounds like everybody is really impressed by the screenshots. Unfortunately the link seems to have died. Could you please, please put them up again so that I can see them?

And just a friendly warning: although it may seem to you like you can easily finish it by december, I would still put a disclaimer on that if I were you. As far as I can tell a lot of good people have fallen into the trap of underestimating their own project. :D

And seeing as how the rest of my post was on topic I'll allow myself this: your next project wouldn't happen to be a Laura Bow one, would it?

*crosses fingers*

Okay, I didn't realise you could still alter the names as you like. In that case, I think it's a pretty good solution. I have the same problem as you with naming my save games (except I usually call them Flop1, Flop2, etc. :D), but it's still nice to be able to name them yourself at critical locations (savegames you might want to load later if everything goes wrong).

Well, I kind of like the GUI the way it is (although it's a difficult to say, based only on a couple of screenshots), but I did actually suspect that the save names were autogenerated. I usually like it when the saves are organized like that, but I tend to prefer having the option of adding a remark to the savegame as well. I that a possibility? And why can you switch off the "append date and time to description" thingie? Not that I mind having that option, I just can't see any reason for using it.

This is great stuff. Thanks a lot man. And I'm glad to hear about the unfinished backgrounds (well, the bench was my only grudge, and it's not as if I couldn't have overlooked that :)). Anyway, it looks really good, and don't worry too much about the demo (although maybe an "it's done when it's done!" disclaimer would be in order :D). Looking forward for the full game. :)

Well, I think it's a good first effort. I've already expressed my views to you Sameera, but I do agree that it would be nice with some better walk cycles. I can't really tell you how to make them better, though, since I know absolutely nothing about that.

However, I'm sure that your next one will improve on a lot of the things people have pointed out. I don't really have any experience with game making myself, but it does seem that there are a lot of great tutorials on this site (not to mention a lot of people willing to give advice).

Anyway, I for one will be trying out your next game, and will be ready with a bit of constructive criticism it you want it. :)

Don't worry about the pushing back of release dates and what you call empty promises. As long as you're still working on the full game, I'm satisfied, and I could do without the demo since I rarely play those anyway, preferring to wait for the full game in all it's glory(although if you already got someone else to make music specifically for the demo, I can see why you'd want to release it).

If nothing else, it's good to see that big business hasn't monopolised the concept of pushing back release dates (yet!). :D

Anyway, I hope you're getting some work done on the full game, as well as the demos, and that you're not completely neglecting your studies. :)

I just want to say that I'm extremely excited about this project. I just played the first one and was awestruck by the story. Very impressive indeed (I made a comment if you're interested in my views about the game). I guess I just want to cheer you on, and say that I hope this game will retain the strong points of the first one, while improving on the weak points. Thanks.

I must say I'm very excited about this game. I first heard about back when I read that article i pcp about a year and a half ago, but had forgotten it untill recently. I'm glad to see you're still working on it.

I hate to be a pain in the ass, but I don't suppose you could give us an update or something? I'd love to see some screenshots and/or get some more info about the game. And how is that demo coming along?

I'll stop bugging you now, I just had to ask. :)
