Congrats Ali, I especially liked Mordalles entry, but all entries were good.
Also it was a good topic.

These are all such great entries.

Idea - Mad
Atmosphere/Mood/Emotion - The JBurger
Storytelling/Authenticity - Ildu

Design - Ildu
Composition - Ildu
Colours - TheJBurger
Lighting - LimpingFish

Camera Placement/Angle - TheJBurger
Walkareas - Penguin
Exits - Ildu

I've got to say, i really liked many aspects of TheJBurger's entry (simple but so effective) and also Ildu's entry, but i have to agree with zyndikate, i can't see as much "Waterfall Valley" in it as some of the other entries. But still great entries.

The IP doesn't work, so just wait for it to show up on the multiplayer menu.

OMG I have that same book and i think i know where it is. I didn't think anyone else would actually have that book and still remember it.

Ohh, the picture. IMO the first one is better, I like the colours better, the lizard thing is more defined and it looks more ghosty. But thats just me.

I think that "rage italic" has a comedy type of feel to it, but as esper and DonB have already said it may be illegible in a smaller font.

Maybe he went somewhere crazy with TerranRich. Haven't seen either in ages. ??? I was starting to like Terran. :'(

EDIT: Sorry, that was mozza on my PC at my house. He didn't realise I was still logged in.

I think this is a great idea, except for the fact that people like me would end up in a gutter or trash can. Or both. :=
No seriously it is a pretty cool idea.

I'm excited because I have finally gotten around to finishing a sprite and entering it! ;D
And here it is, in

16 colours;
80x114;
3 hours pixel work in MSPaint!

And 2x:

Thanks BB for the help and your great topic which inspired me so.

EDIT: Holy crap Mordalles! :o I have no chance! :'(

That looks great Krysis, I'm sure it would have taken you a long time to do that. I don't have the skill nor the time to do anything as good as that.

I like your style and the way that you have made your character look so good with so little pixels. It's great.

Rob Blanc was my first game and soon after I was working on Bob Goes Home.

I do like the quick paintover by esper, it looks a bit scratchy as it was done very quickly in paint but it certainly does show your point. It almost looks ready to use.

This is a great first attempt, it looks like a different style to what I usually see.
The walking should have some movement other than just the legs.
Great sprite though.

I like scotch's paintover better as it isn't as grey and dull looking as the original, but thats just my opinion. And yes I think that the stairs are alittle too thin.

General Discussion / kookaburras
Mon 12/12/2005 09:13:31
The kookaburras rarely get mentioned anywhere yet they are just like the socceroos. The socceroos didn't make the world cup for ages and the kookaburras hadn't won a gold medal in ages and the they both finally did yet the socceroos had much bigger celebration and they only qualified unlike the kookaburras who actually won the gold medal. There was a lot of talk about the socceroos qualifying being Australia's greatest sporting moment, that is ridiculus. I wonder what Australia's greatest sporting moment would actually be. Any Ideas?
Jamie Dywer is unbelievable he scored something like 12 goals for australia in the Olympics and just the other day he got 2 out of the 4 goals Australia scored to beat the Netherlands.
BTW I do not play hockey and never have.

I play squash and it's great but if you're lazy and just don't like or feel like running there is always racquet ball. You can play racquet ball just walking to the ball and still stay in the rally.
