General Discussion / Re: Da Vinci Code Redux

To turn the conversation back towards where it started, I really enjoyed the book. The thing is, Dan Brown never said it was based on fact, but a lot of people somehow believed he did! I saw a documentary about it, and this bishop said he couldn't believe so many people could be duped by a book with no evidence to support it. These people just walk right into these things don't they! ;)

Oh come on Ryan, use Geocities or something. There's loads of ways of hosting files on the internet.

Don't know why I made it so small, but here goes!

Next: a breakdancing roast-ham!!

If that's too difficult, how about a farm with a twist? Either one will do!

What do we get for winning the comp?

are you asking to import any image as a background or just 3d-rendered images? if it's 3d ones i think you'll just select render in your 3d program and save the image, then import it as any other type of image!

This looks really cool, I can't wait to get to play that! I just hope you've got the Ron Gilbert style wit in there, it can't be a monkey island game with that!

Hey nevermind, I found the GetLocationName does exactly what I want anyway.  ;D

Beginners' Technical Questions / Mouse Over
Wed 22/03/2006 10:48:35
Is it possible to get whether the mouse is just over an object and not "moving" over an object? I want it to say what the object is when you're over it but the message disappears when the mouse is no longer moving. Also, is it possible to have mouse over characters? That would be very useful too.

Thanks Gilbot, I've got that working now. Another problem has arisen that I can't access my own functions from the room scripts. How do I get that to work?

I'm designing a speech GUI for the top of the screen. I've got a button acting as an avatar for each character, but I can't change the image of the button because it's read-only. Is there anyway around this? Or completely different way of showing an image in a GUI?

Thanks in advance.
