currently watching this with my jaw on the ground and saliva endlessly flowing out like a waterfall 8-0
@16:07 he pulls out monkey Island on the amiga

Yeah I know! I was so slack when putting the C64, Amiga and PC on the shelf when I was helping him sort out/catalogue the room.. I kept getting sidetracked and fanboying over alot of the old school point and click games.

Hey guys,

I don't normally do these type of "shameless plug" posts, but I'm helping out a good mate of mine.
I've been helping him with his YouTube channel over the last few months (filming, editing, design, etc) And he just released his room tour video. He has an insane collection, (actually the biggest). I'll pop a link in here if anyone is keen on checking it out along with some of his other videos.

Both us will greatly appreciate it :D

Thanks

I love the sprite. The only thing I can notice that looks off in my eyes is that Indy's right hand looks too small. But other than that, looks pretty kick arse to me :D

Hey

Here is an update

[imgzoom]http://i.imgur.com/WMa86Yf.png[/imgzoom]

Made some slight alterations as suggested by Anian and Monsieur (Cheers)
Also added some shading and detail to the character as well as making better contrast between the shading (hopefully)
Originally I was going to put a logo or something on the tshirt, but I figure keep it somewhat simple, seeing its "sleepwear" so to speak. I can save that for the other characters/different version of this character.

But yeah, I think I might have to make some alterations to the shading on the hair, I dont know. It looks alright to me, but something seeeeeeeeeeeems odd, but I'm not quite seeing it (if that makes sense)

Hey thanks for the replies!

I've done a quick revision of the sprite.

[imgzoom]http://i.imgur.com/LVKmdLl.png[/imgzoom]

The changes I have made were;
- made the face on the front view less round
- "chubbed" up the legs/pants abit
- moved the head and shoulders down afew pixels to match up abit better with the legs
- fixed the arms and hands
- Made adjustments to back and side views to match front (hopefully... looks alright to me).

I didn't bother changing the colours not because I didn't think it needs to be done, its because I haven't locked down a final look (as I just noticed I mentioned before) - So yeah, I guess its just more about the general look of the character and just to get some general feedback.

Anyway, let me know, and thank again.

Hey guys,

Been pretty slack in terms of working on projects. So been trying to get back into it. Just looking to get some views on this rough draft of a character I am working on. I haven't gone into crazy detail with shading and detail with the characters clothing as I'm not 100% set on the design/colours (Its meant to be just a plain tshirt and trackie pants anyway - "just got outta bed attire")

But yeah, as I said been "outta the game" for a while. Decided to get back into things and just wanted to get some thoughts/possible improvements on the first pass.

That 3D plugins automatically reminds me of an article I read ages ago in regards to King of Fighters XII (and XIII) how they kinda cheated on the "sprite art" side of things and alot of the animation work was done via 3D programs and used a similar technique to get that sprite feel.

I'm a lazy, lazy man. Looks like I found a winner.

Finished playing it earlier. Had a really good time with it. Loved the story and the voice acting was highly enjoyable which seems to be always the case with Wadjet Eye games :P. But I'm actually keen on coming back to this at some later stage and trying different approaches.

Spoiler
The only stage I got real stuck was the bookcase puzzle at the Speakeasy... I took that puzzle waaaaaay to seriously, thinking there must be some connection relating to 3 of the writers. But after walking around the room and talking to the someone in speak easy, after looking at the list of authors I had written down it finally clicked, to which I said.. I'm an idiot.

Anyway, well done to everyone involved. Can't wait to see whats next on the cards for everyone.

Ok.
First problem

Spoiler

Maybe the number gauge (0-60) near the switches has to match a ticket you might be holding

Second problem

Spoiler

There is a card in the shop that can be used to distract the owner. Maybe you have seen something out of reach in the neighborhood where the helicopter might come in handy

Sorry I'm terrible at subtle clues.. hope this helps

Also I'm stuck on the following

Spoiler

I've gotten my ticket, which was the wrong one! There isn't much I can do. I have a security pass for the Airport, but I can't get past the guard, because I don't look like the guy in the photo. But on the way out of the Airport there is a Poster that kind of looks like me. So I'm guessing thats the key, but I can't do anything with the poster. Tried using all my items, am I missing something.. Help..

Oh yeah, massive list of awesome games. I'm not a big racing fan, but The Crew has really got me interested as well as the games you listed Armageddon. I haven't played a Pokemon game is such a long time. I think the last one I played was Pokemon Yellow :S. But you know from what I've seen of X/Y it might get me give Pokemon another shot. I really want to find out what they are showing on Telltales new game The Wolf Among Us but haven't come across anything yet. Great E3 so far.

Thanks for your reply Khris. I do like this bit of script, have an idea that could put that to good use. But it's not exactly what I want to happen.

So pretty much I want this "green blob" (for example sake) to be clickable. And if the player clicks on this hotspot something will happen (meant to be there as an easter egg) So is it at all possible to have the hotspot clickable at the same time as when a player can choose a dialog option?

Thanks again.
#12
Mmmm - The only option I have under dialog is "Run game loops while dialog options are displayed" - Tried running the game, but the hotspot is still not showing up.
#13
Heya,

I was just wondering if it's at all possible to have a Clickable Hotspot that can be clicked while you are in a dialog tree?

For example;

The player will have they dialog options on display but if they click on a Hotspot it will run its own sequence of actions. (Player could ask about that certain item)

Thank you,

Thanks guys! I just got back from work and I'm absolutely buggered. Going to take it easy tonight because the next four days are going to be busy! So I won't be doing much work tonight. Thanks for the kind words, and glad it got a laugh/smirk. At the absolute least there will be a proper GIP thread by the end of the Easter break. More to come real soon.
#17
Hehe, yeah pretty pointless. Everyone, I truly am sorry.

This is a project that I am working on during my spare time. A short game created in Adventure Game Studio. I am locking myself in my house during the Easter Holidays (seeing I have no work/can't be bothered with family commitments during this time of year) and hopefully can get something released when that break is over. Hell, if I don't get it finished I'll try to have an actual trailer for this release.

I would post this up in the upcoming game section, but seeing as I haven't started on the art for it yet it doesn't meet the requirements for this post. It's Adventure related and there is most likely some rule that I have broken and for that I'm sorry, anyway. Enjoy, it's nothing that special. Wait, no..

Here it is

Spoiler
Sorry for the excessive use of the BRAWHHHH effect, all the 'cool' trailers are doing it these days

Holy crud! this looks amazing! This sort of thing motivates me (Also makes me die a little inside) because this and so many other games are such quality coming through this site. I have about 4 project which I'm very slow working on, whenever I get some free time and not drained from work. But I'll slug away and hopefully one of these will be release first/second for everyone to enjoy/despise. Keep up the good work guys! I'll be sure to throw some cash into the Kickstarter when it's up and running! Keeping a close eye on this one for sure!

I know it's an old topic but for people who haven't checked the site in recent times. They have uploaded a new screenshot on their website (Oct 18th was the update). Nice use of the flashlight there. Hopefully, Mister L/anyone on the project can help shed some light on how the project is coming along (seeing how the last update was on late March)

Enjoy
