This is a great game! I loved the piraty feel and interface, and the option of taking your hook off was pretty neat and original (as far as I know). Good clean backgrounds and logical (for the most part) puzzles. My only criticism is two spelling errors that I saw. I can't remember exactly where they were, but "sais" was used instead of "says", and.......rats, i can't remember the other one...I'll modify this if I can think of it.

I'd consider myself a below average adventure gamer, but I played the game through in about 40 min. It was very enjoyable. Keep up the good work guys!

Hmmm...you may have just inspired me to totally redo all 25+ of my rooms. What do you think of this?

The only setback wil be to deal with scaling though...I've never even experimented with it.  :(

Go ahead and lock it now, there's no point in its existance.

This is just for fun as you can see I'm new and don't have much drawing skills.

I believe that you were mis-advised on your In Production thread that this would be a good place to ask for someone to contribute artwork.

SighÃ,  :(, ok, I'm just doing what I was told. I'm sorry if this is against the rules. If this topic needs to be locked or whatever I don't mind.

I may just have to try your idea about the car, but it won't coordinate with the rest of the rooms. Oh well...

Ok thank-you I'll do that. Here are some more screenshots. Once I get an answer to my drawing request I can piece the rest of this game together.

Critics' Lounge / Simple background request
Sat 13/05/2006 15:57:17
I'm almost finished with all of my rooms for my First Game.
But I'm stuck on a background. I can't draw cars to save my life, especially on an angle. Here is the bg. I would like a car drawn on an angle in the purple area. I have pasted the character in the picture for reference, but actually the car belongs to a character a little bigger than him. (I haven't drawn him yet) Any help is appreciated!Ã,  :) Oh, yes. The game is in high color 16-bit

I've added an intro with a short cutscene so that things will make sense now. I've also changes the game slightly so that the first puzzle makes more sense.Ã,  :)

Go ahead, give it a try. Tell me what you think.

Download is 3 posts up.

EDIT

I'm modifying this post because I have a drawing request. If you want to help then GO HERE

Yeah I'll be working on one. I've just got to brainstorm a little....

Was the first puzzle to easy or obscure? I tried not to make it hard.

Tell me what you think about the puzzles, gameplay, dialogs etc. I'm open to suggestions on how to improve. Remember, this is my 1st game.

Hi, as you can tell by my number of posts, I'm new to ags, but I'm learning fast. Here is the demo of my first game. All the graphics were done by myself and most everything was done in paintshop.

I havn't totally developed the storyline yet (which might be a bad thing) but the general idea is that you were on a youth activity with your church youth pastor when he was suddenly kidnapped. Now it's up to you to rescue him. I'm actually just making this as a joke to my friends and youth pastor, but i wanted to get some feedback before i get into it much more.

Just to show you how new I am to this, I'll ask this question. How do I create an EXE file so that I can post the demo?Ã,  :)

Thank you so much, yes this was my problem. I added eAnywhere to the script and it works now.

Thanks again!  :)

Hi, I'm new to ags, but I've read all the tutorials and beginner FAQ etc. However, I'm stuck on this seemingly simple thing. When my character interacts with a hotspot (a tree) he goes over and shakes it. After that an acorn (visible object) is supposed to fall out of the tree, so I put Interact Hotspot, move character, quick animation, yata yata, and then I put object, move object with the specific coordinates with speed set to 3. The problem is that when I interact the tree the acorn wont fall. I tried putting in the exact script command, but then the "watch" icon kept running after I shook the tree like it was waiting for the acorn to fall, but it still wont move.

This is probably just a simple thing that I'm overlooking, but any help is appreciated. ThanksÃ,
