Hello Everyone,

I am still trying to get my remake of Sierra's "Colonel's Bequest" off the ground, and I am still in need of:

STORY WRITERS: Creative people looking to work in a small group, to look over the original story, develop game elements further and possibly change some ideas around to create a better flow for the game. Also, possibly work on adding some challenges or puzzles. I have a private forum set up where we can discuss ideas, and I have an enhanced story layout set up.

ANIMATOR: I have created some portraits, like the one below from "Laura Bow 2", and I am looking for someone that feels comfortable in animating them to look like they are talking, and blinking their eyes. Each character will probably have three different heads to animate, so I am looking for someone with experience in lip-syncing.

BACKGROUND ARTISTS: I bit off alot when I took on this art style for the game, I knew it would look impressive but it takes a bit of time per screen. I am looking for someone to help me out with doing the backgrounds, that feels they can achieve this style. I will be more than willing to work with artists, to show them how I did it. I just used Photoshop to put these together, so nothing fancy is required.

Again, anyone interested can reply to Dump401@yahoo.com. Thanks for your time, and I hope to hear from you!

Oh, cool. Thanks for the information, I figured it would be a difficult process. So, I am open to either way.

I AM STILL IN NEED OF TEAM MEMBERS! Positions listed above in my last post, we could really use the help.

Voh, you are right, I should've explained that this was a remake of Sierra's "Colonel's Bequest". And I tried different sprites on the background, but the old pixelated "Laura Bow 2" sprites didn't look right. I personally felt these were the only ones that worked, and the sprite artist has a fully rendered 3D model, so hopefully you won't find the combination too off-putting. And, since you weren't a fan of the games, if there were any ideas you had to make the game more entertaining I would be more than willing to hear them. I'm looking to work on the game's weaknesses, so that would help out.

Back to business, I am still in need of:

Radiant, to answer your response, we plan on giving the game a big facelift. Make the flow of the game smoother, develop an easier way of questioning suspects, and expand on the character's backstories more. But keep all of the original game's highlights intact.

Thank you all for your responses. I just wanted to let you know, that that isn't the final sprite. She won't have her arms sticking out so oddly in the game. I just put her in the screen to show about how she'll look.

Here is the second screen, it still needs alot of work but it gives you more of an idea what the game will look like.

Hello Everyone,

I posted here before and got a good amount of people to help out, but unfortunately the game slipped into hiatus for a bit and I lost the majority of my team. But I am picking the game back up as a New Years Resolution and could really use the help. So, basically I am looking for anyone that can help out. But here are some positions that I am hoping for.

AGS Expert- This is my first game creation Ever, and I am more of the artistic mind than the group leader type, so I don't have the proper time to learn the program. And what I am looking for is someone who feels comfortable using Adventure Game Studio, so team members can give them resources and basically this person will just put it into the program and have sort of a "Master Copy". Things like script pages, sprites, backgrounds, music... I know it sounds simple, but it would be a HUGE benefit to me and they will receive credit for their work in the game.

Story Writer(s)- Preferably a Laura Bow and mystery fan, this is someone who I have to be in close contact with to throw ideas around. I am looking for someone who is a creative writer, to help me give the game a bit of a facelift. They will work with me on writing dialogue and game events. This could be a group of people, I am open minded.

Scripters- We don't have much in the way of scripting right now, but I will be needing some good scripters. So anyone interested would be appreciated.

And to show you a little of what I had going before the hiatus, here are a couple of pictures I have. The screenshot I threw together in Photoshop, it's not finished and hasn't been in AGS yet, so the sprite's shading and proportions aren't right yet and the backgrounds need a little work. So, again it's just for show.

So, anyone interested in helping out just drop me a line at Dump401@yahoo.com.
Thank you for your time, and I hope to be hearing from some of you.

Hello again,

Basically, I've gotten enough people to help out with the story, and the backgrounds are coming along well. But we need a 3D sprite artist to help us to fully bring new life into this game. We are looking for 3D characters and animations, for a 2D game. All interested for the position email me at Dump401@yahoo.com and I can email you several backgrounds to give you a better idea of what we are looking to do. And since the sprites aren't that large, they don't need to be all of that detailed. So, we welcome all skill levels!

Thanks for your time!

Attention Creative Writers,

We are a team that is committed to bringing new life to the classic game, “Colonel's Bequest”, while still preserving all of the elements we have come to love about the game. The problem is we are still in the early stages of getting a team together, so we need your help. Right now we are trying to get a solid story and some unique gameplay in place before we get too deep into the scripting and artwork aspects of the production.

We have taken all the critiques of the original “Colonel's Bequest” that we could find, and are looking to fix the problems the critics had, while bringing fresh new ideas to the game. We hope to make it much more interactive, and less like eavesdropping on a story you can't effect. So, listed below are job titles we are looking for right now. (Laura Bow and/or murder mystery fans are preferred, but not required.)

-Primarily, we need a team of writers that will work on helping to shape the story, develop the characters, and create the gameplay. (1920's history buff's a plus!)
-Dialog writers. (Knowledge of 1920's-style dialog would be valuable!)
-Puzzle creators. People who are interested in creating puzzles that we can include in the game, that work well alongside the story and setting.
-Sprite Artists. (People that can make the character animations. Like walking graphics, animating profile pictures to talk. Things like that.)
-Even fans of the series that just want to voice their ideas on improving the game are welcome. Because this is truly a game for the fans!

Interested candidates wouldn't have to commit to just one job title. If you wanted to cross-over and help out some with any of the jobs, that would be extremely beneficial to the team. So, if this sounds like something that might interest you, drop me an email at Dump401@yahoo.com, and give a brief description of yourself and what you'd be interested in assisting us with. We are a really laid back team that all have busy schedules, so it would be a “contribute what you can, when you can” sort of atmosphere, where everyone's voice matters.

Also, if you would be interested in contributing in something I haven't listed (programming, artwork, music…) feel free to also drop me a line. We won't be looking for help in those areas for a little while, but if you want to be considered for the job when the time comes, please contact me.

Thanks for your time, and we hope to hear from you!
