We had a small update recently on our website:

http://www.night-of-the-meteor.de/

As always, we could use more help with the animations... ;)

I just placed my pre-order!
Is this really the final episode? I played all the other parts of the series, they are awsome! A must buy! :)

We just added sprite number 5000 into "Night of the Meteor" and since our adventure remake has seven playable characters many, many sprites must follow!

We could still use some help with all the wonderfull animations this game deserves!
If anyone wants to join our team, feel free to drop us a note.

Hi Folks!

The project was not doing well the last few month, but now we're "Back from the Ted" and the past two weeks were very productive.
We added a bunch of (quite funny) character animations to the game - but it's still much more to do!

We could need more help in the animations department.
Maybe there is someone out there who want's to work really hard for free? - Let us know!

Could you post a Dr. Fred GIF or animation?

You can also see Dr. Fred walking in our trailer.

Nurse Edna is currently under construction again.  8)

Whoops.  :o

Well, thanks for the interest guys. I wish we could update this thread more often.
We're still making progress, but it goes veeeeeery slow at the moment.  :-[

Our new main problem is: Our lead-animator hasn't got the time anymore to complete the last walk-animations of the remaining 2 characters.

So if there is anyone out there who can handle cartoon-animations in the "day of the tentacle style" - please let us know!  :-*

Wow, this is awsome!  :o
I hope to see this finished some day. Great to see the old Zak back in action.  8)

Hey folks, here is a small life sign from our projcet!  :)

We're all very busy with our real life issues and the work is going slow - but we're still at it!  8)
Check out our website, for some screens we had to throw away, cause they were no longer up to standards.

Just a quick update:
We're still working on the project - at the moment it's going kinda slow, but the game is alive and kicking!  8)

Oh, by the way. Here's a new background to admire:  ;)

Sorry, we can't say anything about a release date.  :-\
We've been working on the script a lot and added some nice effects - so stay tuned!  :D

BTW: Now you can listen to our version of the main theme on our website:

As far as music, since the original PC version didn't have much, might I recommend basing your score on the NES version, which, for all of its problems, had quite a bit of very nice music?

Jepp, this is alredy in the works!  ;D

I would say, it's a bit close to the door, isn't it?  :o
People who enter the room through the right door might just run into it...

Um, what for?  ???

The ingame-animations are in *.png, would be no problem zu transform them to gif - but why?  :-\

As some of the sprites used are modified versions of ones I made I'd personally like to see something like that happen and would even consider making a fan game of sorts, myself.
After the game is released, we also like to see something more happen with this stuff.  8)

Sorry for being so negative...

No problem - it's your opinion.  :)
But we have so many new and funny ideas to bring MM back to life, maybe you'll think different about it when our work is done!  8)

Jepp, the NES-version had many cuts was was heavily censored, but the blue color for the edisons was first used in the enhanced version for PC, Amiga and Atari ST.
I first played MM on the C-64 but I really like the more creepy blue color now - feels a bit like "The Munsters".  ;D

We also think, that this color has something do to with all the radioactivity in the mansion or/and the presence of the Meteor. We'll keep it that way.  8)

Is that actual ingame music?

Only the remix of the "Maniac Mansion"-theme at the end of the trailer is actual ingame-music.  :-\
We could still need some help in the music-department...  :-[

Some of the dialog (especially in the beginning) stays on screen for an extenuated amount of time. Will this be the case with the final game?

No, in the game you can always skip the text on one mouseclick.  ;)

Did you ever figure out correct lyrics for the tv-theme?   ???
No, not yet.  :-\
