Awesome game, Duzz!  This, along with a couple other games, is the first AGS game I've played in a long time, and it's great!  A little sadistic, but so funny.  I loved kicking the dog and dropping that vending machine on the punk kid.

Definitely make a sequel!  Make it longer than this one, too  ;)

The Dig was pretty crappy.  The worst for me is King's Quest V.  It could have been pretty good, but it's got some of the worst-designed puzzles I've ever seen in a supposedly good game.  There's no freaking way to beat this without either a walkthrough or by spending a billion hours at it (or if you're a little better at adventure games than me).  But all those DEAD ENDS!!!  So, so stupid.

Plus, Graham's a loser.

Grim Fandango, The Curse of Monkey Island, and Quest for Glory IV.

Quest for Glory II and Monkey Island II aren't far behind, but IV and Curse's atmospheres put them on top for me.

Grim Fandango is incredible (aside from a couple bizarre puzzles)... I'll be surprised if there's ever an adventure game that comes along to top it.

First pick up a book from the shelf.  Then you just open up your inventory and use LOOK on it (or right click it).

Wow, that's a sweet pic.  It reminds me of Tim Burton too.  Good luck with the book!

I know you have to use a StopMoving script before you can change a character's walking speed/animations...well, is there someway around this?  I'm looking into a Final Fantasy type walking system where you hold an arrow key to move, then Shift or something to run.

Oh.  Also, is there a way to return the coordinates of where a certain character or object is moving to?  For example, so you could "pause" the game but still mess with options, or change where they're supposed to go.  I'm thinking Baldur's Gate or some CRPG like that.

Great game, delta!  Best (and possibly only) AGS stealth game I've played :)

And I'm glad you included a walkthrough!

How's PotH coming along?

This is amazing stuff, man.  You've got real talent (and God, do I wish I could do art like this!).  Looks like you may have a back-to-back best background art AGS award (that was one of the awards you won, right? :)).

edit: oh, and have fun with the scripting, Spyros :)

I think I read somewhere that they're going to make Metal Gear Solid into a movie, actually.

How big is this game, anyway?  Man, seems everytime I try downloading this game I run into some problem.  I want to play it!  (trying again now)

edit - Keeps telling me the zip's an invalid archive or something.  I'm using GetRight, could that be a problem?

I'll try again :P

edit again: ah, got it!  I'll be back tomorrow with a review ;)

Alright, cool.  With 500 topics I don't need more options at all, then :P  Thanks.
#13
Ah, don't worry about it.  Using two topics isn't a problem, now that I've worked with it.  You've proven my suggestion pointless once again :)

I have a related question: there's no limit to the number of dialog options, right?

Can't you hook up your computer to your TV for a moniter?  One of the Tierra guys said he did that for a game, I think.  I'd like to figure out how to do that.
#15
Well, yeah, that's what I'll be doing a bit with the current setup.  But that would clutter things up a bit, not as organized and all.  But yeah, that will work still :)

Cool!  I can't get the EGA version to work on my computer (Roger walks all screwy so I can't really get anywhere, anyone else have this problem?), so this will be fun.

Screenshots are looking pretty good.  Maybe needing some touch up still (close up of Roger looks a little odd to me), but nice start :)

--EDIT--
You know, I was thinking...coloring over the EGA/AGI backgrounds with remakes is probably really efficient (not that I've ever tried it), but not doing that would be cool too!  You know, like the remake of QfG1 had stuff in different places a little (I think!) -- that's kinda fun, you know?  Like you're getting some new experience with visuals, aside from the touch up...or something like that :P

QuoteThose games are shit!! And they make a disgusting mockery of LucasArts good name. Shame on them!
lol!  So true...although I did give a couple of those MI fangames positive reviews over at Anthenor's.  Those games had a couple positive qualities :P

Yeah, I agree -- being critical about remakes of games is fine...if it's a fangame, not a direct remake, that's different.  Just my opinion, though.  Of course, generally bitching about other peoples' games isn't a good idea...you know, like I used to do when I first came to the AGS forums.  Sorry about that, by the way! ;)

Good luck with this King's Quest game, though!  One question: why are you posting these screenshots, basically no more than what we've already seen in the AGI version, if you've got a VGA artist working on better?  Wait until he gets some kickass visuals for you to show off and you'll get people a lot more excited with the project.  Same with the under the bed thing... :P

This is cool, though.  I guess a lot of people get pissed when it's not Tierra remaking the games, but so what?  It's cool to see more people getting in on this...you know, assuming the final products will be of high quality and all :)

Well, it could become fairly significant...but I can probably work around it somehow, so I suppose it won't be up there to high on the priorities list :)  Although it'd still be a helpful implementation.

Hey.  I was working on this GUI for my hi res 640x480 game, and noticed that since GUIs and buttons are displayed in low res here, there's always one pixel skipped, so I can't place everything on the GUI exactly where I want it.

Is there a way around this that I'm missing?  I think a hi res GUI display in the editor would be helpful.

So this is the first commercial AGS game, then?  The demo's great, I'll buy it!
