E=DOC, how stupid of me....

Well, this numeric lock puzzle is tricky.
This is what I found so far

The note under the lock reads : C=2
The note from the bin reads : E=DOC
The note on the wall reads : O=C/2
Assuming that the letters represent numbers and that they are not multiplied,
and substituting O with C/2, the note from the bin would read E=D C/2 C
Since C=2, and using the alphabetic order for E and D, this would mean 5 4 2/2 2 = 5412
Unfortunately, it doesn't work

I have come quite far in this great game, but now I am desperately  stuck

In Chapter 7, I am stuck in the police office where I have to free inspector Ludd.
I cannot access the keycard, guess I have to distract Captain Rollins, most likely
by turning on the TV, but the remote control (if any) is nowhere to be found....

First of all : Thanks for this great game !
I have come quite far today , but I am afraid I ran into a severe bug

I am at the point where I have to meet the outlanders.
I could not open the big gate, so I managed to open the door on the room to the right,
the one with the big switch.
Then I can walk past the droid which keeps pushing me back and pick up the iron bar.
Also , I can open the door where I find the sign stone.
There is nothing else I can do in this room, but I can walk back into the corridor
and climb the ladder, where I can find a rusty chain and another iron bar.
When I walk to the right , i can click a screen on the floor below (actually inaccessible)
which then displays a messagein alien language and the translation , i guess.
I can barely close the text window at the bottom of the screen, at that time I get another
small "switch" window, very strange. I cannot imagine that this is intended, looks like a bug to me.
Also, I think I could even get past the droid and moved further to the right just to
land in the room where I found the sign stone, but I failed to reproduce it

This is a very nice old school adventure game,
unfortunately I encountered a few , i guess severe, bugs :

I am at the point where I have to defeat the drunk at the bar.
Obviously, I don't have the right item , I guess it might be found
in the storage room, where I could only find a towel and a few beers
The moment the drunk approaches me, I can use the door to go outside, where
the soldiers have now disappeared. Then I can walk back in I am not attacked anymore.
During these actions, my player is always walking backwards...
AND : Then I can even walk into my room and get another passport from the nightstand,
which is not intended, I guess...

I guess the scissors like symbol of the buttons on the left side represents the north direction
and the other symbol of the buttons on the left side represents the south direction. is that right?
So guessing the east and west direction is a 50/50 chance
Do the buttons on the left side of the panel have a function or are they just there to show the N and S direction
and otherwise are just a red herring?
I am totally confused...

There are two buttons on the left, I assume they show the N and S direction
Then there is the direction pad with N,S.E.W directions
Then there is the note showing 5 symbols, from my understanding it's S,N,E,W and N
Or S,N,W,E and N
Sliding the button in these directions does nothing....
Pressing the buttons on the left does nothing....
(It's not working)....

savegames worked, but now I am totally stuck...

... near the end.i guess I have to fiddle with the fuse box,
but there is now way to open it, cannot find a suitable tool for the lock
Also, when using the mirror on the corner,there is no way to access
the items in my inventory
