Hints & Tips / Re: Legends Of Mardaram
Wed 07/12/2005 21:55:04
Thank you TassieDevil for your statement. It`s very nice to hear that you like this game. An english version could be possible, but I will promise nothing. By the way I guess you are german, right? ;)

I haven`t open a thread for the game in the english forums, because it isn`t available in english. But although it`s already to find in the medium length - database.  :)

P.S.: Does this thread has anything to do with "Hint and Tips?"  ;)

Hi, I checked this forum and found this thread somewhere... I did the first AGS-game with Keen as main character, the little RON-Game "CK enters RON", it`s one of my earlier games and can be downloaded on the RON-page. I made this one, after I have seen that "Monty the Mole" was also used as a RON-character in AGS...

You see if you make a fan-game there is no problem... there is a CK-Forum in the internet (I haven`t visited it for a long time and don`t know the link), which you can find with google. There are many, many guys, who work on KEEN-Fangames. It`s absolutly no problem.

I checked the both games in the last weeks and played them until the end.

Can you just promise me something. If you make a third game, please make a menu before the intro. If I have seen a intro one time, it`s really enough, it would be better to load the old savegame before watching the intro again.

The rest is great. Especially the second MI-Game, which always was the best in the series... it`s nice to see a funny rip-off of it.

But if you want to also make this with the third game, I will remember nothing of that game, since I surely have forgotten the story and everything of it. I haven`t played "The curse of Monkey Island" (was that the title of MI3 or was it MI4?) more than one or two times, since it wasn`t very good and the graphics were just so much better in MI2  :)   .  Better do your own graphics for part 3.

Wow.Ã,  Thanks for bringing this thread back from the ashes.

The commercial release will have only one part, that being the full and complete game.

hm... I`ve read the thread a bit better now... I didn`t know that you wanted to make it commercial... but if you think this is necessary, do it so.  (I will see later, if I am able to buy it than!  ;) )

I played it and I solved it. That`s a great and fascinating plot. Very nice!

How many parts do you want to do?

Hi, I am at the forums again!  ;)

I downloaded your version of LSL 2 some days ago and now I finished it (I could never finish the parser version, so you helped me a lot!)

I know I should not say that about a classic adventuregame, but I enjoyed it more than Al Lowes Parserversion.

And the next question: Can you please make a point & click - version of Larry III?
(this is the only one I did not finish yet!  ::) )

By the way the old LSL-games are great...
but my favorite will ever be LSL 6. I really love this part. And the graphics of this game are absolutly unique in the adventuregenre.  :-*

Tobias: Yes, you should be able to, but always keep a backup of your game folder along with the old version of ags, just in case something gets broken.

That`s the cause I was asking... especially I would like to know it in one point:

Some people have noticed that I set some old games in a newer version (which was this old beta-version before) and that some player of my games had problems with a few errors in these games, which I didn`t get at my computer.

(Of course the error in SMA 2 which I have posted a few days before in this forum was self-cleared, the error didn`t appeared very much, how this player told me...)

Just to ask if such mistakes can appear on some computer-systems for example or should I able to see all of them by self-testing?

One words about the new version: GREAT! Just great! That was a really good work with very nice specials. The room transition styles are such coool.... I love them.

So, now a question by me: The last Version I used was AGS 2.53 beta 1 a before I downloaded this version.

So I know that it is possible to put a game which was mostly created with 2.53 b1a in the new version. But if I finish this old-version-created game with the new 2.56 - can there appear any bad mistakes in the game or is 2.56 good enough to avoid them?
Shortly asked: Can I update an old game in this new version without heistation?

OK, thanks for your help so far!

No, he opened the game as I already said.

Hi there,

I got a mail from somebody, who got this error as he opened my SMA 2 - game, which was created last year with an older version of AGS...

"An exception 0xC0000005 occured in ACWIN.EXE at EIP = 0x004A2C8C; program
pointer is -91, ACI version 2.50.395, gtags (0,0).
AGS cannot continue, this exception was fatal. Please note down the numbers
above, remember what you were doing at the time and notify CJ on the Tech
forum"

I know this "An exception occured..." - messages, I often get them when my computer is driving crazy... when I want to open a game by me... but only sometimes... sometimes the games open without problems.
Now I heard the first time that another person has this problem with one of my games... I don`t know if he get it always and if he tried to open it more than one time.

Can somebody tell me about this error?

yes, there is an error in the v2.53 beta 1 a (my newest downloaded version), because the game was created with 2.5b...

but I believe I don`t need it any longer, there is another solution, forget this thread.

It`s cool... I watched the first nine parts now. After the first two parts I was shortly before to stop watching it, because I don`t like the first and second chapter so much. But it becomes extremly funny in the other chapters.

I saw your screenshots in the adventure-archiv. Great! But NetAnts doesn`t want me to download it... :O(
