Well i looked there, but it says "default direct-sound device"
Setting it to "default waveout device" does nothing.
I hear the squicking shoes and everything, but no speech 

Hello fellow adventurers!
I have a little problem in Apprentice 1 & 2
Both games have speech, as far as i know, but the only problem is, i don't hear any voices. Sound effects are no problem, only speech.
Does anyone know what this could be?
