Topics - The Fool

#1
Hi guys,

For quite some time I had great interest in various "wierd" topics (esoteric ideas, UFOs, secret societies etc.).
Does anyone of you recall any adventure or other game that would openly (at least to some degree) and skilfully
dealt with these things?

The only ones I can remember are Broken Sword (one world government conspircies, bathomet...),
Atlantis (artistic reimagining of mystical Atlantis), Longest Journey (various skilfully implanted "deeper" ideas)
and Psychonauts (inner work, facing and transforming personal demons...).

Completed Game Announcements / Beard Beverage
Thu 05/11/2015 23:48:49
Hi guys!

I just spend two really hectic days attempting to meet a deadline for the first game of my 12 months 12 games challenge, and ended up with

Beard Beverage

It's a trippy short game about a guy who went on a quest for an epic beard into some distatnt dimension.

Let me know what it did with you and please, tell me about any bug, grammatical error or
unintentionally wierdly phrased sentence you come across.

See you next month with something less rushed (I hope:-D)

Love ya! ;)

I'd like to make an experiment :)

For the past two or three years I've had a couple of relatively interesting ideas for games, but never been able to finish anything.
I'd always come up with something I was excited about, but then killed it with far too much second guessing, over-analyzing
and pondering whether or not my current idea was "the right one".
Then I recently rewatched and got really inspired by Mark Applebaum's crazy and brilliant TED talk
and decided to try something (completely) different.

I'll attemp to make one game a month for the next 12 months with only one primary goal, and that is
to enjoy the process of creating them as much as possible.
Of course I'd also like to make them original, memorable and really fun to play but
I don't to worry about these things too much and be OK with the very real possibility, that
I may end up making nothing worth downloading whatsoever.

Allowing myself any result I'm really excited about where will the process take me.
Will I end up making just a bunch of hasily made and insane Legacy of the icecream man games?
Or will I be able to come up with something good? ;)

I'm starting today and will post the first finished game at 5. of november.

Wish me luck and enjoy the ride! :D

He travels around the world, collects music of different cultures and uses it to create really unique and powerful tunes.
Enjoy! :)

Edmund and the potato

A short game about one man's ambition. And it's bluesy.

It can be composed in any fitting style or mood and made or recorded by any instruments you like.

Incredibly stupid and short "game" I made after listening to Ben304's and Grundislav's podcast.
Serious competition to Vinnie Vole's Existential Nightmare.

Enjoy! :D

Hi guys!

I'd like to copy QFG 4 fight system to AGS.
For those who haven't played - It's 1 on 1 fight against computer controlled opponent.
Your character is controlled by mouse. He can walk (one step forward or backwards by clicking in front or behind the character),
jump (by clicking above the character), crouch or parry (by clicking on appropriate area of him), cast spells (by clicking on a spell)
or stab and slash (by clicking on the opponent, if he is close enough).

Example here at 1:45

My AGS skills are really elemental, but I'd very much like to figure it out.
I have seen very cool fight engine done by guys who made QFG2 remake, which proves me it can be done.

I'd like to ask, If anyone would be so kind to give any suggestion or tutorials, that could help me. Something like "I learnt this and that this way, this tutorial is relevant" etc.

Thanks a lot!

Hey guys and gals,
would anyone of you consider idea creating "practical tutorial" topic, where we could post and download various "example" games? Something like "this is how to do working beginner game", "this is how I made tun-based combat system" etc. Learning through internet tutorials and reading is great, but I feel this would be more fun and efficient.

If there allready is such place and I missed it, Im sorry :D
