Not necessarily adventure related, but certainly game development related.

A REALLY interesting video about making Retro City Rampage into a REAL 8-bit game that would actually play on the consoles of yesteryear.

A must watch for you retro hipsters.  (laugh)

Check this out.
QuoteUsing the infrared camera in the Wii remote and a head mounted sensor bar (two IR LEDs), you can accurately track the location of your head and render view dependent images on the screen. This effectively transforms your display into a portal to a virtual environment. The display properly reacts to head and body movement as if it were a real window creating a realistic illusion of depth and space.

This is so gonna be the future of gaming.

Sorry if this has been posted before, I searched and couldn't find anything.

I've start to make a series of Monkey Island comics using the original sprites and background from the games.
Atm, I've only used the Monkey Island 2 graphics, but i plan to include some MI1 graphics as time goes by.
There is some strong language, I'm sorry if it offends, but that's just my humour.

Here's what i've done so far:

Btw, I'm not sure if this would be better suited in the Critics Lounge. It can be moved if need be.

This is my first ever attempt at stenciling, let alone a t-shirt stencil. i'm so proud of it. ;D

The ladies will be unable to resist my new found sexiness.

They should seriously make these professionally, I'd deffinetly buy one.

PS. i was debating wether to put this here, or in GenChat. Please move if need be.

Remember Glumol..? The apparently AMAZING adventure game creator that never got released.
ahh, that was a long time ago.. eagerly awaiting on the message board.
I think i remember the owners being two frenchmen, Bob & something.
it was messy to see the message board getting abused and arguments in every thread, eventually to its closure. just thank god for AGS!

were you a member on the Glumol message board? i was 'stu_the_monkey'.

Good luck brave, brave soul.

This was a very little game i made just to see if i could actually make a game successfully. i think i managed to do it!

Just thought i'd post this link, as graphics people will find it very interesting, i know i did, as far as backgrounds and animation is concerned.
Plus, it's a kick ass song :D

It's an animation that's been made to Radiohead's song, Creep (acoustic version). The character animation is very good, lip sync and such, also body movement. You see the room in which the character is situated get made before your very eyes.. You'll have to watch it to understand what i mean.

The only part that let it down is when the character jumps out the window, the animation isn't that convincing.. but the landing of the chatacer is VERY well done.

General Discussion / microphone purchase
Fri 10/09/2004 19:58:37
okay, i want a good quality microphone for my pc.
i want to do voice recordings and perhaps some guitar playing recordings, all crystal clear, or as near as possible(since i have no sound proof room). i've had a quick look on the net and at some mags, but i can't make 100% sense of all the jargon that comes with microphone specs.. so i was wondering if someone with some experience and knowhow in this area could help me find out which microphone is better out of these two that i've found..

Logitech (savastore.com)
and,
Labtec (maplin magazine scan)

also, while i'm at it. can anyone find a better one? not too bothered about price atm, and remember, i want it to be pc compatible. any help is appreciated, thanks.

Critics' Lounge / background c&c - dorm room
Mon 14/07/2003 00:08:58
i've been downloading and mooching around AGS for a few years now, and i've thought a few times in the past about SERIOUSLY making a game, but now i think very well might do so.
:)
so here i have a background i've made up.. it's supposed to be a dorm room in a halls of residence. it's supposed to be pretty much empty, apart from the mess.
c&c is welcome and encouraged.

thanks!

NB. i need to add a chair for his computer.  ::)
