I'm using AGS version 3.4.1.12 (which is the beta version I think), and I've tried to set this variable to a certain color number so as to change the color of the dialogue options highlight.
I've tried setting it at game start, whenever a room opens, at the beginning of a dialogue but to no avail.
Just in case I'm not doing it properly, I do this:
Code: ags
 game.dialog_options_highlight_color = 30004;

It just picks some default color based on the character's dialogue color instead. In my case:

Matt also tested it out himself on his computer and he found out that it worked in an older version but in this version I am using it made all his highlights grey even when he set it to another color.
So it's probably just a bug in this beta version.

Pyrrhus won the war (in the end) is a game I've been working on as a part of a MAGS competition (with a theme "Something lost"). I couldn't finish it on time, due to the amount of content which has to be created.

Story: Pyrrhus is a soldier for the Union, a group of countries who unite with an aim to defeat the Wrong Union, a rising fascist monarchy. In the, so called, Big Battle, Pyrrhus' military unit is defeated and he gets captured and escorted into a secluded prison on a far away land, deep in the Wrong Union's territory, where every day he has to fight in an arena to survive. Along with his brother in arms, Michael, who is also trapped in the fortress prison, he plots to escape...

What to expect: A point and click adventure game with inventory items used as combat weapons

When to expect: year 2015 this game project was cancelled. Sorry. some time in the future

*since I am no longer working in time constraints I have decided to return certain parts of the game, which I originally cut out of design plan, when I started developing it.

Update 1:
7/3/2015
I have composed the main music theme for the protagonist. It is called Hero and a murderer. Pyrrhus is a hero, in his mind, because he fights for the good guys, against the baddies. And he is also a murderer, because he kills a lot of people...
The composition is work in progress, still:

Update 2:
10/10/2015
Canceled project.

Update 3:
17/10/2016
I decided to work on this game again, after a year :D

Hello, I need quick help (because I'm working on a mags game and running out of time).

In my game all characters stand on one horizontal Y line. I need one of the characters to be drawn over the other character.
I tried many things, including changing the baseline of the character, but I can't seem to do it right.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

EDIT: Never mind, I solved it on my own.

The Rumpus Room / Goodbye AGS!
Sun 21/09/2014 23:01:33
I just wanted to say that I am taking a break (a big one) from AGS (forums and the game engine).

I had a great experience developing games with AGS, and I managed to finish one this year.
My head was full of ideas, and I never managed to finish anything. My head is still full of ideas and that is not good! Mostly because a few days ago my life became more serious than I ever thought it would become.
I met a lot of very nice and friendly people and friends, and I had a wonderful time.
Unfortunately, Baron, you will have to cut me out of the group somehow. Sorry for causing difficulties. :/

Goodbye Adeel and Gurok.
Goodbye AGS... I might return some day... or a decade... :~(

PS. AprilSkies and JimReed made a great racing game, with mind blowing HD graphics! Check it out, when it gets released! :=

Hints & Tips / Deadly consequences!
Sat 30/08/2014 20:16:00
I'm stuck! I feel as if I tried everything, although there is probably something I missed.
Spoiler
I still haven't managed to open door 11,4 and 6, I don't know what to do with killer balloons in room 9, still haven't solved room 8 with the light bulb. I don't know how to get past the door in the dark room.
My inventory: cutters, probably unusable blocks(0,1,3,4). puncture repair kit, train book(I've solved the train puzzle), lead, crossbow, brandy and candle. I have 3 black ravens.

Inspired by Franz Kafka's "Metamorphosis"

Plot: Main character(whose name we never get to know) wakes up one day transformed into a pig. Once he leaves his warm house, he is confronted by a different world. On his journey to investigate the chaotic happenings around him he comes across the true meaning of it. No, it is not a dream.

What to expect: A very simple, point and click adventure game, with minor horror elements. Puzzles are fair, make sense within the game world and are not hard.

(In this newer version 1.1 a warning window appears every time the player decides to click on the "X" icon in the inventory UI, so that he does not accidentally quit the game. If you have already played the game, and downloaded this new version, the old saves will not work on this newer version. You will have to start the game from the beginning.)

Hey, pig! Don't be so pessimistic!

I'd like these fellow blue cuppers 8-) who play tested the game: Arj0n, Adeel S. Ahmed, Tramp(online), CaptainD, Problem and Anian.

This game was originally supposed to be made for a MAGS competition in January, with a theme "Something Cold, Something Burrowed, Something Pink".

Hello ladies and gentlemen
Finally, I managed to make a fully playable version of my game: All pigs deserve to burn in hell. If anyone is interested in play testing, send me a PM (or post in this thread, whatever you prefer)!
PS. It would be more preferred if you were a native English speaker, because of a lot of language related mistakes.
PS2. The only thing that is also missing is sound, and that will be added later. All in due time.
Thanks for your cooperation. 8-)

Hello everyone,
I am working on a game(which is almost finished now) and I decided to make a custom icon for my game. I did that.
I made an 32x32 icon file and put into the folder of my game(as the manual said), though it is not working. I compiled, saved, restarted ags a plenty of times, and it still doesn't work. I've tried 64x64 icon as well and it didn't work.
I'm using Windows 7.
And my game is roughly 5 megabytes. AGS version 3.2.1.
Thanks in forward!

Code: ags

//I'm trying to do:
oSnow.MergeIntoBackground();
/*,where oSnow is an object I want to merge into the background.
I have a problem though;
Since the background is animating, the object is merged only into a one of four backgrounds that exist in the room.
I'd like to merge it into all four of those backgrounds, but I don't know how.
Help! */

I thought around thirty days was more then enough. I was wrong.

With everything done, there are 178 sprites and 23 different backgrounds.

Update 8. April 2014.
All pigs deserve to burn in hell is currently being play tested.
If you are interested in play testing check out THIS thread!

Hello everyone,

I have walked into a minor problem, that I'm sure can be solved somehow(in fact, I already know the solution, but it is too complicated :=).

I was wandering if it was possible to affect objects of a certain room inside of dialog script? I have looked through the AGS manual and found no solutions.
as an example(what I'm trying to do): I want to change oRefrigeratorDoor.Visible to true inside of a dialog script; and the error shows up, as it finds the object unkown to the script.

The solution that I was talking about would be to define a global boolean and then use Repeatedly execute function inside of a room, where it would check when this boolean becomes true, so I could do that what I wanted to do inside of the room.

Therefore, is there a way to connect dialog script with room script(other than this complicated global variable/boolean thing)?

Thanks in forward!
