Hi Folks!

All the characters have found their actors. Thanks a lot!

I'm not active on this forum as I used to be but I know there's always a lot of talented people here looking to lend a hand. I've moved over from AGS to Godot and I'm coming close to finishing my first 3D game with this lovely engine.

Here's a short video of the game in action:
https://twitter.com/i/status/1246502471096315905

In the game you play as Joe, a simple minded and good-hearted fellow just trying to continue his daily life with his better (and smarter) half Moe in their lovely, protected garden. But other inhabitants of island Lessismor have different plans for them.

The avatars are very much a work in progress! These are the characters I'm looking to voice:

Avatar

Character name

Short description

Amount of lines

In game look

Rubinstein TAKEN

A devious character, that acts as he's better than everyone. Gets offended easily. Originally envisioned as having German, Scandinavian or British accent.

Just a few sentences

Moe TAKEN

A loving wife above all else, but also responsible for designing all of the electrical devices in their garden. She's full of patience for her other half Joe and instructs him on everything all the way through the game. Originally envisioned as having a British accent and being a little bit posh in nature.

The most of all of them, she's the one that talks to Joe through the whole game.

Bilmo TAKEN

He has strength in abundance but his intellect is a total opposite. A good-hearted but ultimately naive character that easily gets manipulated. He does not say his words but spits them out as if his mouth is working faster than his mind.

The same as Rubinstein. Only an introduction and a goodbye.

Pinpy TAKEN

A real jockster and a mischievous character. He's a local singer in the Lessismor pub and wherever there's trouble be sure that you'll find him! He goes nowhere without his instrument and actually sings all of his sentences. The same like Bilmo and Rubinstein he only has two replicas but he's the one who sings them. I'm aware this character will be harder to find a voice for but I'm hoping I'll get lucky.
I've already had a couple of entries for Pinpy so I wouldn't like to waste anyones time.

The same as Rubinstein and Bilmo. Only an introduction and a goodbye.

That's all folks (for now). All of the characters have a certain personality in my head and their lines are written. But there's a lot of room for improvement and adjustments if anyone is interested in growing the character she/he's looking to voice.

On Leaving The Building is the game I made for 101$ Adventure Challenge with theme Historical Fiction.

You play as The King. You have a list of things to do. After that freedom awaits. Have fun!

I think there's about 15 minutes of gameplay here.

Do you believe in love and future full of troubled robots? Well, then this game is for you!

You play as a LO43R, a robot that will do anything to have love back in his life. Naturally, she is trapped in a sleazy massage parlour. It's your job to fight the bad robots, use the help of not so bad ones and get her out of there.

Tycho Magnetic Anomaly did the art. I did the scripting and sound design. We expanded and changed my original story so much that it truly became our story. It's been a wonderful experience and I hope it will lead to great enjoyment for players!

And here is the game page on AGS: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2173/

Greetings!

I want to play a video in my game. I tried mp4 in the compiled folder - video playing error file not found or format not supported

I tried ogg file in the main folder, building exe file and then playing it - file not found

I'm not sure what to do. I've read a lot of similar questions here but the people didn't wrote down exactly what they did to make this problem go away.

I have a bird-like character that I want to be always in motion. So he flies somewhere and when he stops he makes his change from NormalView to IdleView that I set to 0: cBird.SetIdleView(5, 0);

The problem is that there's a slight pause when this change is supposed to happen. It's not a big pause but it really takes away from the experience.

I was wondering can this be fixed? What is the cause of this problem?

Hi everyone. I'm losing my mind over this. I've done this before and I have no idea what's the problem.

I made a global variable muzika of an audio channel. I start the music in the first room:

Code: ags
muzika = aThe_starry_sky_above_me.Play();
 muzika.Volume = 100;

Later in other rooms when I try muzika.volume=20 or anything like that it doesn't work, but if I do muzika.Stop() it works. I think I lost like an hour beating my head against the wall.

AGS Games in Production / Nobody Cares

Hello everyone,

After a lot of work I finally managed to get my game in the finish line.
This is my first game, at least first that I was even close to finishing, so I decided it is the right time to announce it.

The game is more of a interactive movie than a real point n' click adventure so the emphasis will not be on the puzzles, rather on the story, dialogue and, well, philosophy. I estimate it will be a 10-15 minutes long gaming experience.

The Story

Francis Weigner is a writter. He had success with some shallow books in the past but this time he is writing for real. The book he is finishing now is his masterpiece. He knows he will never write anything better. This book is the best of him.
How does someone continue to work after a piece of work like that? How does someone explain that feeling to others and how does he cope with lack of understanding about his work? He speaks to his neighbours, to his mother, to his girlfriend and tries to consume it all.
Well, that's it.
