For my current AGS project, I've been trying to figure out the best way to pull off a certain feature: audio with reverb effects/flangers/etc. Specifically, I want to be able to set a parameter that causes all Speech audio and specified audio channels to have a certain percentage of reverb applied in real-time. I've realized that this is a very difficult task to be able to pull off using the AGS engine, and it's worth noting that my knowledge of programming plugins is very limited.

I am willing to pay for this plugin to be released for everyone to use. Reply to this post or PM me to talk about if you're interested in trying this and what price you think would be acceptable.

As a non-programmer, I have a couple of ideas of my own of a plugin could work if it's not possible to generate real-time reverb, one of which being: A program that mass-applies reverb effects to audio files and puts them in separate folders, all of which are for separate reverb effects. These would be compiled into separate VOX files, and the program would call a different VOX depending on what type of room you're in.

Would this be possible to code as a plugin, and who's got the chops to try it? Also, what do you all think is a reasonable price to offer for this task?
Thanks in advance.

I was looking through some old threads, trying to find an audio plugin that will let me implement reverb effects into the game. It seems like a much better way to do something than engineering reverb & delay effects for every file. I found this:

https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=42925.0

Basically it uses the FMOD engine and makes it AGS compatible, but all the links are dead. Does anyone know where I can find the code to this plugin, and are there any superior plugins that currently exist?

Recruitment / Seeking to Pay Spriter

Hey fellas!

I'm looking to pay someone for spritework for a game project I'm currently working on. This includes character design/animation. Work will be paid for, probably at an hourly rate of approx. $12 an hour.

The game has a film noir pixel-art style.

Email me at ebenne23@kent.edu with your portfolio and you will be contacted!

Hello!

I wanted to know how global variables work with saving.

For instance, what if I want to do something Undertale-inspired and have some global variables that remain constant even when you save and reload games? How would I go about doing this?

If the game does this automatically, then how do global variables get reset in the first place?

Thanks

Hey guys, I'm new to coding for AGS. I've tried looking up everything I can about this error, but I can't for the life of me figure out what the problem is. Maybe a second set of eyes could help me figure it out.

The error I have is "buffer exceeded: you probably have a missing bracket on a previous line." I've checked all the previous lines, but I can't figure out what it's talking about.

[EDIT] I figured it out almost instantly, sorry if this turns out to be spam mates.

I wasn't aware that by "brackets" it also meant quotation marks and all. This error is a strange one to solve since it doesn't mark the specific area of interest.
