This is my first post here for a while, and it is quite an occasion.

After almost two years in the making, my third, by far most ambitious and still self-released album, named "The Eye of the Beholder" is out.

Sometimes you know. You know that everything you have done till now is nothing more than a repetition for the present; that whatever qualities your previous work had, they have only foreshadowed the entire potential; that everything before and after this is only a shadow or a reflection of the current brilliance; that from this point on nothing will be as grand and significant; that with the current work you fulfill your mission. However small everything until now may seem and however uncertain and difficult everything may be from now on, here and now, this is your magnum opus.

It is as sweeping as the cover is. Download it for free from the official website or check it out on last.fm. The album archive includes notes in English.

Cheers and thanks to those who will listen.

Well, here it is, after eighteen months' effort. It is a dark, claustrophobic, progressive and multi-layered work, and is likely to appeal to any aficionado of Marillion, Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons Project or King Crimson. Read more about it and download here.

Tuomas plays guitars on one track, and that amazing cover art is by GarageGothic.
Feedback greatly appreciated.

... as a blog.

As you can see, I have transferred most of the old articles to the site. The blog format will allow me to update the ezine more regularly, and yet I am in need of one or two more writers. If you're interested in the position, feel free to pm me with a review of an AGS award winning game and a short expos`e why you are applying.

After the release of 'Under dark skies' I've been wondering upon the musical direction I should take. Well, I have now decided. I am going to create another conceptual progrock album, albeit this time not so downhearted/or at least I think so now/. I have more or less ironed out the plot of the narration - it is going to be reminiscent of Catcher in the Rye, exploring such themes as alienation, generation gap, introversion and coming of age. Trouble is, I know what I want to say, but I don't possess the poetic means to do so. And here is where I need help - if you'd like to contribute to ~10 songs on my future album, I would greatly appreciate it. The tone of the poems/lyrics should be to a great extent reflective, with a melancholic touch to them. As the album shall be free of charge, you also should not expect to get paid in a way different than praise and inner satisfaction. What I am looking for most, however, is the elusive thing described as poetry - it defies all definition but I'll certainly recognise it when I see it. If there's anyone interested, feel free to pm and ask me about details and/or send a sample of your work.

I've seen many "I like [game], recommend something similar" threads, and thought, "Why not take it a bit further?"

So, I shall recommend some works of art for people who liked The last express:

Books:
Stamboul Train by Graham Greene

Movies:
The lady vanishes
The third man
Casablanca
Journey into fear

Feel free to recommend related media to adventure gamers!

... is an album!

Basically, it is a progressive rock album based on the verses of the renowned Bulgarian poet Dimcho Debelyanov. So if you have a weak spot for the softer edge of progrock you are sure to like it! ^_^
Since that's not that common, though, you could just give it a try, and  say what you think.
You can read all about it there, and download it. Merry Christmas, everyone! :)

Edit:

Half of the poems are now translated and uploaded to the website.

Also, if you're not sure whether you'd like to download and listen to the album, you may hear a sample song on last.fm. Give it a try, mmkay?

General Discussion / Small volume problem
Fri 22/12/2006 16:23:38
So, I have the following problem - I have a number of wavs which have different volume. Is there an easy way to equalise the level of the volume? Or do I have to do it manually, one by one?

General Discussion / Bookcrossing!
Mon 27/11/2006 00:03:38
Quite a few of you may know what bookcrossing is - basically, it's leaving a book in a public place for someone else to read it. Each book has its own unique id so that the one who finds it may go to the bookcrossing website and write his impressions about it. After that he himself 'sets the book free', etc etc etc.
It's an amazing initiative, and I've released a few books (I didn't need anyway) already. Sadly, only one has been journaled so far, but you can always hope.
So do you like the idea? Have you done that already? Or you think it doesn't have potential? Share your thoughts.

General Discussion / Last.fm
Wed 01/11/2006 13:17:26
Some people here have been familiar with this for quite a while, while others are not in the know, so here goes...
Basically, www.last.fm is a database which writes down all the tracks you listen to, and then creates neat charts like this one:

It then uses these charts to find people with similar tastes to yours, you can listen to radio stations similar to your or anyone else's tastes and much much more. So try it out, and join the AGS group there.

General Discussion / Tune Contest compilation?
Sat 04/02/2006 18:11:13
So, I was thinking, "There have been some awesome tunes composed for the tune competition, someone should pick the best ones out and make a compilation".
Basically, that's my idea - someone who has been following the competition closely to pick a cd's worth of songs and order them properly in a playlist. What do you think, would that be a good idea? Any volunteers?

So, I was thinking, "MAGS games with AGSers as characters are cool... but only one month a year do we have such rules. Why aren't there more games like, say, Mittens murder mystery?"

Basically, my idea is, let's have a RON-like world with AGS forum members as characters. The only arguable point would be the setting. I have some ideas of my own:

Mittens:
- at a cosy winter resort
- at a rockin' sea resort
Other:
- AGS university campus

Well, what do you guys think?

... "The Genuine confessions of dr Jekyll and mr Hyde"!

This is our first album, read all about it here.

It is currently available as a downloadable torrent(32megs).

Basically, its mostly instrumental, with one 'real song', the title track.
The styles vary, although the most prominent one is rock. It is likely to appeal to anyone, especially the ones who have heard our music before and liked it.

A proper download url will appear shortly (hello AGA), but if you can and know how to, please use the torrent - it saves traffic and could be faster if more people use it.

Enjoy the album and do not forget to leave a comment.

Petteri and Vel

Edit: The album can be downloaded from here
