Rules-create a unique approach to a solution of puzzles in order to reach your goal. With you is an arsenal of items that you may or may not use to reach this goal. Good luck!

Voting-After the deadline, voting will begin on who is the most creative!

The Prize- The winner is graced to take the time to create a unique scenario of his own for the rest of the community to play with

Scenario- A hospital within which you are a patient. You were drugged by a mysterious woman while at a bar, and you have awoken here. With time running short and your paranoia running high, you believe an attempt at your life is imminent and you must leave the hospital as soon as possible. When you try to leave, a police officer stands vigilant at your door and escorts you back inside.

The Room: The room itself is nearly barren and cold, next to your bed is the bed of another patient, who lays there quiet and unmoving, clearly asleep.Next to his bed is a balloon that says," get well soon." On the back wall are your pants with, what you believe, is the other patient's belongings. Next to your bed is a fake model of the human skeleton. The windows are unopenable, and you are on the 5th floor. What do you do

At your Disposal is-

- A Clump of hair? (found in the other patients pants)
- The vital signs machinery beside each bed
- Ketchup packets
- An old coat
- A pair of pants
- The medical bed (which comes with nurse call button, tv controls, sheets and a pillow)
- your medical robe
- A fake model of the human skeleton
- The Balloon filled with helium
- A sack of heavy sand (which weighs down the baloon)
- An empty lunch cart
- two more items of your choosing which must have a good reason for being there.

Let's see what you can do!

I just stumbled upon an adventure game being made for the Nintendo DS a REAL Adventure game. It goes by the title Another Code and has really piqued my interest. It has logic puzzles much like the Myst-Style games, but the exploration and character interactions and artwork of the other types of adventure games. Let's hope this game does a good job when it comes out...here is a link with info for it with some video and screens as well

A question for all of you out there in the adventure gaming world. I have played many a different adventure game. I have seen companies come and go. Treasures flicker and fade with time. There are a lot of things that make an adventure game great, story-line, dialogue, music, even graphics. My question for all of you is this. Give me a great example of an adventure game gone "wrong" and how you feel you could improve it to make a better game.

Also, try and explain what works for you as a game player, what fits your tastes and moods in terms of an adventure game. Anyways....just a bit to think about

Critics' Lounge / Bedroom Suggestions

Here is the first room I have ever created, hopefully it ranks decently. Take a look and give me some ideas on how to improve it.

Now I haven't done much in terms of shading, and I need to do some more coloring, but overall is the perspective correct and does everything look like it should? Be gentle

Adventures have definatly been a thriving world in the independant markets, as can definatly be seen here by the many members of the AGS community. I was wondering though what types of contributions have we had to advance the adventure gaming world to give the players a very unique experience. I am curious to hear what everyone has had in mind and what they have brought to the table.

I personally am going to spend my time focusing on description and ideas. I feel that one thing that many adventure games have missed was study. I loved games like the Gabriel KNight series because it definatly did it's research and had a very thriving real-life aspect to it. Another Adventure/puzzle game I really admired was the Myst series, not because of it's puzzles, but because I enjoyed the atmosphere the books you read. They really added to the world. My personal contribution will be those types of additions. Giving a feeling of a bonus to the game. Instead of just having a goal, and using items to achieve that goal, I want to focus a lot more on the story behind the characters, their motives and reasons.

In the game I am producing now (which is too early in the works to show much of worth) Books are going to play heavily in just creating a backstory and providing entertainment to any who want to read them. They are not necessary, but they can be found enjoyable to some I hope. Anyways, I am ranting
