Title says it all. I've been inquired about updating the links to my games but I've lost any and all copies I had long ago. I know one of you, somewhere, has a backup of at least some of my games.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Also, Oh HAI!

Critics' Lounge / Khan Markhan's Debut EP
Fri 02/07/2010 00:29:20
As pretty much none of you know, I have been spending some time in the musical realm. So far I have learned how to fake my way through songs, and how to spin the knobby things on a synthesizer.

The name I am operating under is Khan Markhan. Why? Because it sounds cool. To date, I have recorded five "songs" which I prefer to refer to as "Aural Experiences."

The EP is called "The Wrath of Markhan" and you can download it by clicking the album cover below:

If you'd like to listen to the album without downloading the whole zip file, you can stream it from Grooveshark here: http://aedmark.com/post/759326828/new-ep-released

General Discussion / Let's Play!
Fri 25/12/2009 18:31:41
I'm thinking of doing a Let's Play (or 2 or 3) of some old adventure games with my friend Emilie. I can't decide which one I want to do! So I'm going to leave it to the best adventure gamers in all the land!

What should I do a Let's Play of?

Anyone play the special edition on Live?

So I got bored last night, and decided I hadn't played any Neutral Milk on my guitar in a while. Much to my Harry and Frances's chagrin, I'm sure, I decided to plod about with oh comely. Only I played around with the chord progression a tad and kinda toyed with the melody.

Not sure exactly what I did.... But I know it's a step in the right direction.

Here it is: http://www.aedmark.com/temp/ohcomely.mp3

Known issues:

1. I take breaths in some wrong places.
2. Late on a few key/harmony changes.
3. Tempo goes off at places.
4. Yes, Harry, I know there's too much reverb.
5. Some stanzas lull, lose their punch.
6. Needs more... Bassline? Strings? Some various odd sounds, I was almost thinking sleigh-bells for a moment.
7. The weird break noise on the second "Say what you wanna say" stanza is because I was too lazy when merging two different recordings.
8. The first four minutes are boring.

Whatever. Call this a demo and I'll get back to the drawing board, thanks for listening. Anyone have any suggestions, comments, or critiscms. Feel free to throw 'em out here. I promise I won't be offended, I know it's not that good.

General Discussion / The AGS Audio Emporium
Tue 01/04/2008 16:27:36
That's right, kids. The AGS Audio Emporium is finally here! Home of virtually every known audio file in known existance that can be rightfully linked to Adventure Game Studio and it's forum community, the AGS Audio Emporium will help you find oddities such as the legendary AGS Opera in which old-time fourm members such as Andail, Grundislav, and m0ds perform classical music tunes such as "The AGS Overture" and "The General Newbie." As well as the Opera, there are also The AGS Debates, produced by Grundislav. As well there is of course the ever-popular AGS Show launched by a loveable mainstay attraction of the AGS community, Mark Lovegrove. Lastly, along with the specific categories listed above, there are also a few random audio files lurking about in the Miscellaneous page just begging to be listened to.

Thanks to the help of Inkoddi, it has has finally been made possible to categorize the many random audio files that have been collected over the years in the forums, and to provide the chance to give them all a single single location to be discovered, heard, and enjoyed in by new and old members of the AGS community alike.

Take a look!

So I have a friend who is baffled by the appearance of this song in his iTunes. All he has to go off is the title "Ghosts."

Anyone have any ideas?

Here's a little diddy Evil and I cranked out last night at 3:30 in the AM.

All evil did was play the guitar, I mixed, sang, and whistled my way to the end.

Let me know what you think!

Yes, that's right folks. I've finally decided to release my film "Somos Las Bolas" onto the internets free of charge.

What does this mean? Well, it means I want you to watch my film because having people see it is much more important to me than making any money from it. BUT, I do like money so here's the deal:

I have hosted the film on Revver, which is an ad-affiliate site that will give me a share of profit from any revenue generated with the viewings of the video. So the more people that watch the video, and decide to click on whatever short, unobtrusive ad is placed before and/or after it, the more money I will get. This money will be used to create more films, of course, and I only do this because I worked so hard on the film and this is the only way I can get a little reward from it without making people pay to watch it.

Now, with that being said, I do ask that if you like the film alot that you consider purchasing the DVD for the cornucopia of special features within it including deleted scenes, outtakes, feature-length commentaries, and even an interview with the author Philip J. Reed, VSc (Yea, the guy that made Larry Vales).

So, without further ado, here is "Somos Las Bolas," the best low-budget film of Student Films Across America 2007:

Yes, it's been almost a year since I started bugging everyone on here about my movie... But now I can gladly say it's FINISHED. Finito! Done. Over and out. Get outta here!

Anyway, instead of re-typing it all here, I'll refer you to the half-arsed press release on Noise to Signal.

http://www.noisetosignal.org/film/2007/05/somos-las-bolas-on-salefinally.php

Check it out, folks. And thanks in advance if you decide to buy.

As a reminder, this is the joint work between me and Phil Reed, author and creator of the coveted and much-played Larry Vales series. This is not worth passing up!

General Discussion / Help a Brother Out
Wed 21/02/2007 04:17:54
Hello AGS friends. My name is LGM. I make movies. I currently have a movie featured on the site "On the Lot."

On the Lot is a new television show on Fox Network that will be filmed in the spring of 2007. It will feature 16 filmmakers  who will go on to make a short film each week of the show. As the weeks progress, viewers will vote on which films were the best. And the filmmaker with the least votes is eliminated.

The site features submissions from potential entrants for the show. I have entered a submission. This is where you guys come in. If you feel so compelled, I would appreciate it if you fine people of the AGS world would write a shining review (or bad one, if so inclined) for my entry. *allegedly* The more reviews and high ratings I get, the better my chances of becoming a contestant on the show. But that could be totally false.

This is pretty huge! I think Mods entered aswell, but I don't know if his video is featured on the site.

Anyway, big thanks to anyone who helps me out. To the others... Well, you won't be getting a Christmas card this year that's for sure.

And here's the big shiny link: http://films.thelot.com/films/11132

So some of you may remember I'm working on a film. An adaptaion of a Phil Reed story called "Somos Las Bolas"

Anyway, I was wondering if I could get some thoughts on how I'm progressing. There are 6 variations right now http://www.flickr.com/photos/lilgryphmaster/sets/72157594471888626/

And this one is my favorite so far, I think:

General Discussion / Commence Pants Wetting...

...I know I had to change my pair.

Check out the latest and final trailer for Zack Snyder and Frank Miller's outing with the graphic novel "300." The film, with the same title, will be adapting the novel almost frame by frame, somewhat similar to the way Sin City was produced. But I must say, "300" makes Sin City look like A Merry Muppet Christmas.

Just watch this trailer to see the awesomeness that is "300."

http://playlist.yahoo.com/makeplaylist.dll?id=1529799&sdm=web&qtw=480&qth=300

The release date is in March. Anyone want to get in line with me now? This one's gonna be huge.

Oh, what's it about you ask? Well, uhm... Let's just say it's about some Spartan warriors that kick some opposing army ass. It's full of violence, language, and big muscley men killing each other in the name of glory. The trailer is chock full of great lines and AWESOME imagery and oh my God I just cannot wait.

Anyone else as excited as I am (and need to change their pants again)?

It's that time again! Time to see what ol' LGM is doin' with his camera.

This is a sign in the downtown area of Davenport, one city over from my home town.

This is my buddy Jimmy. He wanted me to take him on a photoshoot, so I did.

This is Andy, the bass player for the fabulous band Parish Festival.

Here's Jimmy again, on a different photo shoot. He's a character, for sure.

Messing in the water fountain with another friend. This is on campus of the university I am attending.

I was about to take a shower when I looked outside and saw how awesome the sky was. This was just after a storm, so I ran for the camera and drove out to the country before it was too late. (The country is literally only 5 minutes from my house).

This is just something I took while waiting for the bus.

My suite mate sitting on the kitchen floor. I blacked out his surroundings to give it that isolated feel.

This is on a basketball court near my dorm. The lighting is spectacular there. Plus there is a constant source of steam because there's a hydro-plant built onto the side of it. This is a good example of the influence cinema has on me.

Took this at night, by light of a street lamp.

Another film influence, same location. I was thinking Blade Runner (if there was a cityscape in the background).

This is a promotional shot for an indie film that was done around my town.

I did the album cover and promotional stuff for these guys. Excellent band, but sadly they've called it quits.

I'm going to get this printed in a huge poster size.

Parish Festival again. This is an actual Polaroid, too.

I didn't think ANYTHING of this when I took it, but now I really really like it.

My first nude shoot. And no you can't see any nudity, she won't let me show those.

And that's about it. Those are some highlights. Like always, feel free to check out my Flickr here http://www.flickr.com/photos/lilgryphmaster

Please, any comments and criticism are welcome.

General Discussion / "For the People"
Sun 03/09/2006 00:02:29
Well, it's been officially released, so I must officially pimp it on the AGS forums.

That's right, ladies and gentlemen. The new Metrolites CD "For the People" was officially released last night (though it's been available on the web for a good couple of weeks). Who are the Metrolites? Well, I'm sure I've mentioned them before, but they are a band from the Quad Cities, a metropolitan area on the border of Illinois and Iowa. A recent incarnation of the band was the Kabalas, which was actually quite popular in the 90's in at least a few different circles.

Anyway, I just wanted to inform those who like the Jazz, Spy, 60's Longue sci-fi fusion music about the release. If you are one who enjoys music, you will find something to love in this new album. The group is very talented, and their music is original, catchy, and overall entertaining. Plus, I helped create the cover (along with the help of evil1359) and took a substantial amount of the photography featured in the album artwork and on their webpage.

Well, enough talking. Check out the CD here: http://cdbaby.com/cd/metrolites2

edit: And here's an article about them: http://www.qctimes.com/articles/2006/08/31/entertainment/music/doc44f663c61ac01484338859.txt

"Dinosaurchestra" began shipping Thursday. Get your copy now!

http://www.lemondemon.com/dino.html

I have no money right now, but you can bet the next 11 dollars I recieve will be going straight to the Demon.

For those of you who live under rocks, Lemon Demon is the one and only Trapezoid (or Neil Cicierega, for people who don't like pseudonyms) from the golden AGS days. He never really released games (save Satan Quest... Duh!), but he could draw rather well and did some great music for other folks.

I reccomend you check out all of his stuff. You've probably seen "Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny" which is also by him, and on the new CD!

P.S. Promote Neil, Digg him to fame! http://digg.com/music/Dinosaurchestra_Released_Lemon_Demon_Fans_Rejoice

General Discussion / NEW!!! Somos Las Bolas
Sat 24/06/2006 07:43:03
For those who speak Spanish, yes the title is awkward. But that's not the point. The point is that I have collaborated with Philip J. Reed, VSC (yes, the guy who made Larry Vales) and I have adapted his famous short story "Somos Las Bolas" into a short screenplay. The story is featured in his latest book release "God Ran Out of Faces." Look it up on Amazon, it's true.

Anyway... Evil, another forum member, and I plan on producing the screenplay this Summer. For more information you should visit the little website I've put up. http://film.phil-reed.com

If there is enough interest, I can put up a copy of the script for some people to read. I'd love some input from others on it before we start shooting.

So... Anyone interested in having a read-through?

Well, it's been at least 4-5 months since I've posted any of my photo work.. So I decided I should put up a few I've taken with my new Canon EOS 350D a.k.a. Digital Rebel XT.

I'll start with the first few I took, and some of the latest. Most recently I've been doing band photography, as I have been "hired" as the band photographer for The Metrolites.

So here they are:

One of the first photos I took. I was milling about downtown and entered a very old thrift store. This is the exit sign above the entrance.

One of the first pics I took of the Metrolites with my new camera. I still didn't know what I was doing then.

This one's been quite popular. I just got lucky with a sunset.

Here's my mug.

A mere one from the plethora of shots I took of my school's production of Arsenic and Old Lace.

This started merely as a candid shot, but I photoshopped it to hell to make it look like some kind of modeling ad.

Here's a 20-second exposure of the I-74 bridge crossing the great Mississippi river.

The first pic I took with my new 50mm lens. The detail is astounding.

My latest outing with a fantabulous model.

Here's Devin Alexander from the Post Mortems, another local band, tuning his guitar before he plays.

I took this while driving. Probably wasn't smart.

And here's the last one. I took this two nights ago. It's a bit dark, but I like it.

If you want to see more, check out my flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lilgryphmaster
