General Discussion / StoryGen is back!
Sat 15/07/2006 13:36:02
http://www.developer7.org/story/

I remember this got some traffic when it was first posted, so let's try this again. Basically, you see the latest added line and you have to continue the story from it. At the end, the full story is displayed, I archive it and start a new one. Repeat.

You can use your own domain, a subdomain or a directory, you get PHP 4 & 5 and a MySQL database (more if needed). You start out at 75mb maximum, but if you need more just use the contact us page. Enjoy.

Any file type except PHP and CGI (you won't need them), a whopping 1gb file limit (if it's bigger, PM/Email/MSN me). You can delete your own files at a click of a link. Enjoy it.

Actually, it's been up for a while, but I thought I better let you people know :P. By the way, keep away from the blog unless you're a web designer that designs to W3C standards. Yeah, I'm geeky.

General Discussion / StoryGen

http://www.developer7.org/story/

No, it doesn't generate stories. It gives you a starting phrase that I set and you add another phrase, then the starting phrase turns to that and other people continue it etc. not knowing how it'll turn out. After 25 phrases, it changes to display the result until I reset it :). Enjoy!

Edit: Archives now avaliable!

Edit 2: News section added!

Edit 3: StoryGen homepage added! Have StoryGen by the side of your homepage! A phrase a day keeps Elliott Hird away ;)! http://www.developer7.org/fshp.php?url=http://www.YOURURLHERE.com/

“Hello, world!”

Smart quotes. Lovely. But painful to type manually (alt+1somethingsomethingsomething - hard to remember). Word can do it. So should Mozilla Mail. Anyone know of a plugin to convert "this crap" to “this awesomeness”?

I've switched to Dvorak! It seems nice so far, but I'll need to relearn typing :).

I translated LucasFan's template to english, and changed it a bit. Note that it isn't exact to Space Quest 6, because I've never played it, and because I liked some things better. Anyway, here it is:

Well, the fix needs fixing. It should work, but it doesn't. I've got a cursormode 8 non-standard and if it's walk to it's meant to walk to, then run the cursormode 8. Walk to is cursormode 0. Any ideas? I'll post the code or the compiled game if needed.
