I'm considering starting an online business and it includes the people of this site.

I'm going to purchase a web site,
And offer to host a page for people's games here as in I will give a page to each person who wants one for free.
Heres how it will work,
You make a html document for your page i'll upload it and ill give you the link,
I only ask that you click on the google ads every now and then because that will be the only source of income and that you put a slide in the intro of you game saying "hosted on {whatever my site will be called}" along with the logo of my site.

All those interested please speak up as if I get no interest, you get no site as my parents will be paying for it intially.

Note there will be no contract, I will be doing this entirely out of my own kindness, so if I waste out of money the site will close and its not my fault so don't get angry at me. It will go for as long as I can afford it.

Please say so in this thread and why not help suggest a name for the site.

sorry about my rather abrubt and noobish question but how do i deduct integers e.g
int=20

how do i deduct 1
so that if i run a script 1 is deducted.

I'm curious whats the best anyone in these forums has got in a serious test e.g Gcse, A levels, Junior cert, Leaving cert or any other similar test

In my zombie action free roaming game i have the shooting system working how i would like it or at least accept it but how would i make it so that say i use and object "ammo" which has twenty rounds adds 20 rounds to your gun and also every time you shoot (note the gun is a cursor)
it deducts 1 round until it reahes 0 and runs a code of my choice.

Please help as it would greatly speed my rather slow progress.

p.s by slow i mean slow, my rather shameful game Zombie Nation took 3 years,
I'm determined but rather lazy although i really have just been studying to hard!
300 hours in 3 weeks cant be good.

General Discussion / idea about my game

Having spent the best part of 3 weeks writing the entire plot of my game survial as well as drawing out the entire map and all the roads, i've had an inspiration.

In certain games plots can seem forced and sometimes make no sense and in a zombie survival game how can I just one person dictate how an entire populus would react so here until further notice is how im going to proceed with my game.

I'm going to scrap the complete storyline and try to develop my game into an mmo - now im giving it a time scale of completion 2 - 3 years but help would be accepted.

i'll start with simple 2 player then ultimately lead on to 300 players.

Anyone interested in contributing say so and leave a description of what you'd be willing to do.

i'm pretty set on the back grounds and maybe even the character side of things so I need scripters, sound providers, voice actors and ultimatly some one willing to host it 24/7 since i'm unable.

Although I may simply pursue this myself ,I might need assistance so please leave a post on how you would like to contribute.

I've always wondered when looking at the profiles of the members of these forums which country or continent makes up the majority of the user base.

My guess would be European or if I had to chose a country England but lets get a role call going and lets determine it through some sort of sample.

For my game survival I need to make at least one type of zombie and have no idead where to begin since drawing takes to long and doing it on the computer especially with a dirty mouse is like trying to rule a page with a piece of string.

Where would some decent looking walkcycles.
Also if anyone is willing to you could actually make them for me and just post them here,
although i know no one will oblige

I was wandering through the old threads when I noticed that redrum had lefte (news to me).
I also noticed that he posted practically right up to the day he left then a two day gap and he announced he wasnt coming back-anyone know what happened to him?

ok here my perdicament i'm making my game survival and after completion i want to simply insert a multiplayer component allowing you to play 2 player between two specified ip addresses ,
all is for the coordinates of the two players to be transmitted so that you can see the other person moving around nothing more besides seeing each other they (at least for the moment) wont do much else with each other.
Hopefull the more talented of you e.g ssh ,akumayo etc might be able to do this.

In my game I plan to have a realtime day/night system but although i know it should be possible how would I make the game run a piece of code say at 5pm.
Please help i have no idea where to begin without this forums brilliant help.

ok this may sound stupid to all the more talented game authors but how do yuo actually install plugins and modules.

i want to use the rawdraw function to draw bullet holes where i click with my SHOTGUN cursor

in my game I need the main character EGO to face a particular cursor when its in use called SHOTGUN, it is the aimer of the characters gun

In my game I noticed that when a NPC is told to follow they go to your last screen position before following again, how would I make them adjust their course as I move, since if I then tell them to stop following  they won't stop till they reach my last location.

In my game i'm using a cursor as a weapon, but its a little unrealistic when you can just click an enemy through a wall and kill him,

How would I make this particular cursor work only in say a 100 pixel radius around him.

I,m making a one room real time rpg action game called SuRvIvAl and I plan to include allied a.i characters that assist you but i want them to say random catch phrases etc during the game, I'm currently in the process of recording 300 or so sound bites but need a script to put in the repeatedly execute system that generates a number between say 1 and 400 then plays the corresponding sound file e.g sound1 or sound2.
