Critics' Lounge / Scanner Artwork

I just bought a scanner for my PC and trying to figure out how to actually use it to convert my drawn artwork into
a valuable and usable animation or background. Should I just make a shade of it and complete it on the pc or make all the animations on paper? Is there anyone who is using scanner who is willing to share some tips?

And,i also wonder if it is aceptable for a big group of people to unite in maing games with ags and sell them.

Hi,
I want to change the playing character and teleport to another room.
This is my code:

Code: ags
{cJames.Say("Ok,i'll sleep!");
FadeOut(30);
Wait(40);
cBritneyM.SetAsPlayer();
player.ChangeRoom(3, 633, 307);
FadeIn(40);
   }


Instead,my game crashes after Fade out with an error that says:

Code: ags
 ::)Newroom:Cannot run this command,since there is a new room command already
 queued to run.

I once played this series of games,a long time ago,thy must be famous,i wouldnt know.
I can't remember the title,i would like to download it again.
Its about this guy and his girlfriend.The first game is that he is
supposed to save her from a halloween horror house or something,the next one when they
try to discover about the murder of her uncle and the third is in the jungle.
Anyone knows what i'm talking about?

As you can see it is a One room adventure with one or two rooms that you encounter on a memory lane.
It is my very first game,i wasn't hoping to release it,it was just something to do
to learn the basic of scripting.
Most of the game is done,the end is still unfinished.

(Not good in drawing yet so don't fall back because of the graphic.I myself prefer story over graphic  ;D)

Hi,i have this problem and i can't override it.

My player is in the room.The room is dark.
The script is running(first time player enters a room),so he is talking to somebody.
Then it comes to

cBright.Say("Well,someone should to  do something!");
mouse.DisableMode(eModeWalkto);

i have a candle and a box of matches in my inventory.
i disabled walk to beacuse i want my action not to continue until i turn on the candle in my inventory with the matches

so,in use inventory with item i put:

object[0].Visible = true;
wait(80);

the visible object is a lighted candle he put on the floor.

the problem is:

When i put matches together with the candle,i see a waiting mode(sand watch in default)
and it stays like that,nothing else happens.(or rather,the game freezes itself)

If i put enoBlock,the object appears and then players walks to it,

plus,i would like the inventory screen to disappear the moment i put matches and candle together but it stays there

and i am sure he is on a walkable area

Does anyone know have to take game screenshots on ags,i tryed loking at the index,it just says something about a code wich i did't cope right.

Hey!
I am making a game,it's my first one.
I see all the published and announced games have super graphic and all
and i don't feel good enough,actually at all with making my own graphics,when it comes
to characters then especially
In my game,relativly small game,i am using characters from Ron package.
am i allowed to do that and "publish" the game?
the problem is i even got fond of them in the game... ??? ::)

Hi,it's boring me again.But everyone before were so helpful and i don't wanna breka my head with this anymore.

Does anyone know how to make a character do something,or say something new when i ckick on him,never mind
after i have interrogated everyone totaly
i have 5 people,i have dialog with each of them
i would like that the options for that person change only if the player had gone through whole dialogs with every person.  ???

I want to of my characters to come to a conclusion at the same time,i am
using default sierra talking style
how can i make them say those sentences at the same time?

Hy,i am using AGS 3.01.
i dont't know if this was already changed.
there is a small bug in script debbug output window
when i put

cghoul.say("Hello);

you notice i didn't put " after hello.

the problem is that the debbuger never says its that problem but says something else like:
unrecognized eof or you might have forgotten to close the bracket.

i know this because when i write a long set of codes and enter the game,the debugger says
something else and i keep trying to find the mistake,but now o located the problem and i don't want someone to exerience the same,cheers

Hi!
I would like to know how to change character interaction options.
Example:
I talked to my character.When i click on him we talk about a certain topic.
But how can i change it so then when i interact with him later we talk about a different topic?

Being new in ags and all i realised that it all comes to knowledge of scripting.
So,how easy/hard you found learning it and how much did you learn?
I am,for example,on a total zero therefore intimidated to work on a game while really wanting to since i freeze the moment i see scripting language.

Hi.I was using AGS for some time,and it worked great.But now when i start a game test or any other AGS game i get this message:Unable to initialize your audio hardware.(Problem:Failed to init MIDI music driver)And after taht i cant hear any sound at all.
I set my midi in computer options properly,but it changed nothing.
(I am using Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth as my Deafault MIDI music playback device.)

I made this topic once.
Something is wrong with my MIDI playback,the coputer says it is installed,and i can se it in the control panel but i cant hear any sound,and when i try using or starting a AGS game i get error meessages conserning music and sound and i cant hear any.
Can somebody give me a link where i can download something to fox this please or something like that.

I have seen on the other posts a animated character that is animating right now on the screen.
I am a begginer,i would like how to make such animating and how to make it in the post to move?
