Well, since a few months back I,m working on my very first game. I am first and foremost inclined to actually get it finished rather than making it a great game so don,t anticipate to much for it, even though i will try to do my best.
The story, as the name implies is about an assasin, which is tasked to "fix" a castle-lord. It,s going to be a humorous game with a main-character that isn,t overly competent in what he does. ;) The game is probably going to end up as a medium-length game.

Some screenies:

And some images of the main-character

Story: 99%

Puzzles:99%

Scripting: 0%

Music and Sound: 0%

Graphics: 60%

That,s pretty much all i have to say for now. Progress is quite slow but steady so I,ll uppdate this topic in time.

Cheers!

Edit: THIS GAME IS CANCELLED

I once read an article stating the importance not to to cheat on adventure-games as it forever ruined the fun and the challenge of them. It can be read here:
http://www.adventureclassicgaming.com/index.php/site/features/164/

Do you agree with the article? How long can you tolerate being stuck on a puzzle before consulting a walkthrough/hint-file? I myself usually consult UHS ( universall hint-system) if i can,t figure it out after about two or three playing sessions, otherwise I risk loosing interest in the game and start playing something else instead.
I thought your opinions on this matter could be fun to know and and also an important help for those who thinks about implementing in-game hints in their games.

Critics' Lounge / some characters for my game
Fri 09/02/2007 23:12:06
Hello again. This time I,ve made some sprites for my game-project. If you could give me some opinions on it I would be very gratefull. The left-most character is supposed to be an assasin and the main-character for the game.

Hello. I,m working on my first game and have drawn the first room. I would like to know what you think of it.

Also, some critic of my main-character sprite would be fine. (He,s supposed to be an assasin)

Edit: Forget about the character. I can,t seem to display it for some reason.

Edit: I,ve added a bigger version of the 320x200 image in case anyone thinks it,s to small to see the details:

Critics' Lounge / a dessert-startscreen
Tue 09/01/2007 19:59:42

                                      Heya

Well, this is my first picture here on Critics Lounge. It,s supposed to be a starting-screen depicting a dessert-landscape. (As you can see the sign has game-options on it.) I plan to use this startup-screen in a western adventure game some time in the future. I don,t think it looks so horrible but I would really appreciate some critic on this.
