I originally posted these in the Games in production forum, but I violated the posting rules by not having 2 actual game screen shots.  Sorry I'm a noob.

I guess what I'm looking for is some criticism about using this technique.  I think it looks good and fits well with the theme of my game - a detective mystery.  But I wonder if people would rather see sophisticated hand drawn backgrounds.

To make them I just used a FilterForge comic effect on an existing photograph.  Feels like cheating it was so easy.

Here are two screens from my first game.  To make them I just used a FilterForge comic effect on an existing photgraph.  Feels like cheating it was so easy.  Am I going to have issues with these?  They seem to work.  I guess if I can't get a photo of one of my rooms first, then I'll have to create from scratch and I'll never be able to duplicate this look.
