My RON game is coming along. I have a general plot, which involves my new character, Roddey, who after surviving a plague on his star base, SS 2010, though badly mutated and forever in a cy-borg suit, crashes down upon Earth, in a forest located nearby RON.

While wondering about to find help, he gets knocked out by an owner of a freak show, and taken captive as one of them. Time for an escape plan.

Besides Roddey, my other new character (the owner of the freak show) will be introduced. He is:

Chrazee Freek-

Owner of the travaling freak show circus, 'Freeks on the GO'. A friendly father like figure, who, after being
mutated by a vat of scolding butter (don't ask, just don't), started his own travaling freak show, picking up any freaks
along the way.

As his given name should suggest, he is a bit on the insane side, thinking of all freaks as his children. Each one taken
captive he gives them his last name, Freek. To officially make them one with the family.

I am in fact working on a story/game, or interactive fiction, for RON. Seeing as I am not a programmer in the slightest, I am using ADRIFT. The story is a tale of Gower's past, when he was murdered by his wife, and for what purpose.

Seeing as RON tends to be a little on the strange side, I am going to try my best, to make the reason behind his murder, well, reasonless. In other words. Strange. Should be quite challenging to do, but I will try my best. Any suggestions, to better myself with RON?

Say, how would I would be able to program my adventure games in the way of that Phantasmagoria game. Where your character stands in a room, in a predetermined spot, while you move the mouse around and interact and such.

I hope someone understands what I mean.

I'm  :-[  to say, that I haven't had any ideas for awhile to make a RON game with. However, I recently stumbled upon a style idea. Most of the games are graphic adventures, and the others are text adventures, which is just spiffy   ;)  . I've decided to do something different with mine though.

What I'm going to do is put my RPG Maker VX to work and make a short RON Traditional RPG (Hey I paid 60 bucks for that creation tool!). You know, of the Dragon Quest variety (My favorite series, W00t!)

Trouble is, I can't draw, let alone make sprites... hum? I will certainly give it a go though. This change to new format, should make for some good jokes (although I might not be able to pull them off right and get a laugh... sigh, yeah I know I lack confidence.)

UPDATE: I have a name for this RPG of mine- Reality-On-The-Norm: The Hunt for Drake. As well as some story details thus far.

Melt, awakes in the streets of Reality, with no prior knowledge of what happened the night before. More importantly though... Drake is missing! Take on the role of Melt, as you scour the far corners of Reality and team up with two (un?)likely characters, in attempt to try and find answers as to where Drake has gotten off to. Be forewarned though, the adventure is about to get trippy.

But is it possible to make a graphical interactive fiction game using AGS?

I downloaded that RON template, and unziped it into my AGS folder, in Templates, but it doesn't show up when I launch the editor and choose a template.

Reality-on-the-Norm / -My take for a RoN game-
Thu 09/04/2009 18:52:13
Okay, so I haven't made a single game using AGS, and for awhile I thought I never would  :( . However, I was looking over this RoN universe sort of thing, and thought that it was for me.  ;D

Plus, it's just a really interesting game world. So, I got to thinking on it, and came up with an idea for a RoN game. So, I went to the site and looked at what to do first, when making a new RoN game, and it said this:

"The first item on your agenda is to go to the plot forum on the message boards."

Here I am, and I see no plot forum... unless it used to be located somewhere else. So I decided to make this new thread explaining my idea, so as to not screw up.

-Start Plot-

Larry Laffer, the famous lounge lizard of Al Lowe's LSL fame, has been pretty bummed out as of late. He hasn't been in any recent LSL games, with the exception of his cameo apparences in MCL and BOB... it looks like he has gone with the wind. Pity. It's the fault of Sierra owning Larry, and the whole Adventure genre dropping out of commercial fame, that has lead to his recent downfall.

Fortuanately, after a few drinks at Lefty's, he finds out about a strange town, located "nowhere specifically" called: Reality-on-the-Norm. When he finds out that the town is looking for more citizens, to star in upcoming adventure games based in or around RoN. Larry gets excited (maybe a bit too much, good thing he's wearing a white leisure suit) and sets out for the town, to sign up as new character. Giving him a purpose in life again.

Little does he know, strange things await him.

-End Plot-

So that's the deal. Any questions, suggestions and what not?

I wanted to know how you create a one click adventure game. You know, like when there is a  chair in the living room for example, and you hover the mouse of it. The mouse changes color and down at the bottom it says: Look at chair.

And all the game needs for imput is a left click, to do everything, from opening a door to picking up an item.

CYOA is short for Choose your own adventure, if anyone on here didn't know.

Anyway, would it be possible? Has anyone ever tried it before? I mean, action games can be made, so why not.
