Hey everybody!!! I was playing around with paint when i made this!



And then i made that:



That is actually random sprays and a satanic symbol in the middle.

Then i mixed up the two things:



WTF is that Pikachu??? Hell ya.

This is the point of the game. Do something randomly and if it look like something tottaly not intentional, post it here!

Try to post the two versions: 1 with the Transforming Image and other without it.

I think we can do fun things with this  :=

Hey everyone! I'm creating a very complex history for an upcoming RPG.

Please, there are MANY english errors, but consider my native language is NOT english, it is portuguese, that is tottaly different from english.

The history starts in the present and the it star to look back till the time of the creation of everything. Please, i beg you to ignore the english errors (but point some -the most bizarre ones- to me if you want).

Isunmad is a small town located in east of Yanmad Forest.
Isunmad is a very quiet and peacefull place. The place was
marked by a misterious disappearance of it's population 6037 years ago.
Some say that the people were taken by monsters from the sea that were
taken from their natural habitat by the people of Isunmad to the
forest immediately after they were discovered.

There is a secret cult in the city of Isunmad that is spreading fear
among the people of Isunmad. The cult meets in a secret cave
that is located 2 km away from Isunmad in a mountain called
Devil's Hole by the Isunmad livers. Isunmad's population believes that
the cultists are calling Zuhul ('u-hal') from his eternal rest in
the Great Sea.

Zuhul is the main character from a myth told by the elders of Naesth.
In the myth, Zuhul was a great monster living in the sea. The
origin of the monster is unknown, but the elders believe that he came
from space to the world of Airen to destroy all living
creatures to satisfy his Desire of blood. The Desire of
blood of Zuhul is a curse created by Nefratus (Devil, the Great
Demon) to imprison Zuhul, so he would be Nefratus slave and
do every task of destruction he would order Zuhul. But history
says that Zuhul accumulated too much power after killing all the
planets Nefratus ordered, and then he killed Nefratus and be
his prisioner no more, so he could destroy everything he wanted
and the curse would be over, but as the feeling of power was
satisfying, Zuhul continued killing every planet he wanted.

This would explain the fact that every night a star in the sky
disappeared aproximately 9000 years ago, in the eldest times.

But the legend says that when Zuhul came to destroy Arien (9000
years ago), something stop Zuhul, and he fell in the Great Ocean.
From that day, he is waiting for his call, lying in the ocean.
The myth says that Zuhul shipwrecked a whole island when he
touched Airen. That island is called G'asi, and it existence was
never confirmed.

The origin of the myth is unknow, but historians believe that the
myth was created by the elders to explain some unexplained effects
in the sea. And to scare the children to make them stay away from
the sea.

The elders could have created the myth, or they could've lived it. Even
the more skeptic scientists know that the myth is in someway, somehow
true...

Before Zuhul killed Nefratus, Nefratus was the main destroyer, he
was the Devil. Now Zuhul is, for the believers, the most powerfull
evil creature. He is known as Death or Death Bringer in some
cultures, mainly in the western countries. Zuhul is also known as
the Soul Tourturer in the Neja'n culture.Zuhul means Death from
Above in Sind'räd language, also known as the Elder's Language.

Old expeditions in the middle of the Great Ocean had some unexpected
results, such as the discovery of ancient ruins. The ruins
where shipwrecked aproximately 20000 years ago, which strengthens the
affirmations of skeptics that Zuhul is just a legend.

Zuhul is presented as World Eater in ancient Tairän temples of the
highest mountains of Arien, located in the North pole. The Tairän
people are known as the first-borns, they where created by the god
Häl, The Sculptor, or The Life Giver in the Neja'n culture.

Häl created the Tairäns to inhabit Airen, the planet created by
Ytare'n, The Creator (he is called the same way in all cultures).
When the Tairäns began to reproduce, the population started to
grow, and all the ninth generation of the Tairäns was sent to
populate the south of the planet, where the Tairäns have feared to go.

The ninth generation of the Tairäns was called Ujimn, also called
the Eldests. The Eldests were the first race that humans had
contact with. The Neja'n race was created by Häl to mix the Ujimn's
inteligence with the beauty and hand skills of the Neja'ns, creating
the human race. The human race is known as an 'unpure' race, as it
is the only race that wasn't created directly by Häl. The Tairän
had misteriously vanished from Airen 10090 years after their
creation. The disappearance of the Tairäns is explained by believers as
the first of Zuhul's attempts of destorying the planet.

The believers say that Zuhul landed at the north pole of the planet
and eated every Tairän on it. The Tairäns where alerted by Ytare'n
that Zhulu could attack the planet in some years to come, as Zhulu had
destroyed every planet in the Early Space (the Early Space is the
name given by Ytare'n to define all the planets that where before
Airen in the universe).

The power of Häl and Ytare'n isolated wasn't suficient to stop Zuhul,
and they weren't able to unite their powers as they weren't a
single energy force, but a divided energy force.

Zuhul wasn unable to kill the remaining races of Airen because
all of them were located too far away from the North pole, and the
planet wasn't destroyed because of the high concentration of mass and
energy in the North pole. The first Zuhul attack could explain the
expansion to the South pole and the transition of energy of it to the
center of the planet, but the skeptics claim that the energy was
moved by Häl to stabilize the rotation of the planet in its orbit.

Zuhul attempted to destroy the planet, but the high concentration of
energy of the North pole launched him back into space. Zuhul then
created anger of Airen, and he promissed that he would destroy Airen
when he got enough power to unstabilize the main source of energy of
it.

The Tairäns had an outstanding knowledge of the nature of the
planet and of the stars too. What the Tairäns didn't know is
about the oceans. The oceans were a mistery to the Tairäns, that
had never traveled over it, fearing its rage. The ocean was
the entrance to the underground level of Airen, where the energy that
moves the planet and heats it is located. When the energy was
located in the North pole, the highest mountain was the entrance to
the underground. But now the entrance is locked by a mysterious
force.

After the vanishment of the Tairäns, the other races never had another
contact with Häl or Ytare'n. The Neja'ns went south and east,
populating the jungles of the east. The Ujimns went through the
mountains to the west, and there they created their civilization inside
and uppon the mountains. The Neja'ns created their houses on the top
of and within the trees. Some recent Neja'n cities have been created beneath
the ground or suspensed above cliffs. The humans went to the center of
Airen, into the plains.

The Ujimns treat the humans as inferior creatures, and they are not
welcome in their domain as they are not 'holy creatures'. But the
Neja'ns respect the humans as their children, so the humans are very
welcome. The Ujimns are a rancorous race, because they feel they where
rejected by the Tairëns, which is not true.

With expeditions of the humans and Neja'ns to the north, the two races
went together to create another race, a race that could resist very
cold temperatures; the Björns. The creation of the Björns brought the
human and Nejan's races closer together.

With the creation of the Björns, the Ujimns created even more rage towards
the humans and started having rancour of the Nejan's. The Ujimns then
started to be more and more religious, and they started to be even more
rigid, burning the Neja'n and human works and cursing them all. The
Ujimns started the first war of Airen; the War of the Races, as
called by the humans and Desorder of the Races, as called by the Neja'ns.
The Björns helped the humans and the Neja'ns in the war, but they where
almost extinct by the Ujimns.

The Ujimns have lost the war, but their army has grown and they striked again
in the Second War of the Races, or in the Second Disorder of the Races.

Critics' Lounge / Tile based RPG tiles

Hey guys, i'm  trying to make some custom tilesets for RPG Maker XP to my new project, and i wanted you to take a look at it:



I think it is pretty cool already, but i don't know maybe some colours could be more/less saturated or changed? I got much more tiles, but i won't post all of them here until the launch of my game, so anyone will create a game with it before mine  ;)

What do you guys think? As you can notice, it is a cave tileset, so do you have any ideas for vegetation, rocks, props and stuff for it? I will create mushrooms, wooden grates, fences, skulls and bones, cauldrons and other stuff too, so my tileset will be completed! Any paintovers and tips are welcome!

PS: I want the tiles to be the more realistic possible, but only focusing pixel art, i will not use photoshop filters and others (maybe noise filter and gradients, but not too much effects...).

Hello folks! As Victor6 not started a new comp, i was asked by Arboris to do the job! So here i am...

~~Strange Food~~

Think about this scene:
You are at Greece! Having a drink by the sea... And then, a butler came out of nowhere offering you a strange kind of food...


You must create a sprite of an unusual food, something very weird and wicked. It can be something from the sea or a mix of many kinds of food. Be creative!

Hey there, i have a problem: I want a objective system to my game, every time the objective is updated you can see your diary and see the current objective. I`m using an object as the objective (the text) in a room, which is the diary. Well, to update the objective, i make something like this:

It works well on the first two objectives, but on the third there is a problem: When you open the objectives, ok, here it is, the current objective number 2, but when you close it and open it again, the objective shown is number 0. WHY? I thought that the object could face down, so it would use the loop 0, than i changed the loop 2 for loop 8, that is for not specified purposes, it doesn`t worked. I tryed to put the objective number 0 as the loop 8, so it would not return to the down view, i was wong, it continues changing to objective number 0, but just when objective is number 2, when it is 1 it doesn`t change to 0... why the hell is that happening?

NOTE: when we go back to the objective screen (when objective is 2) the objective continue on the same position, 13, 220, as i putted before, and if i add

it will go to 235,300, so what i can concluse is that there is something that is turning the global variable ObjectiveNumber into 0 when i quit the screen, but there is no command that says ObjectiveNumber = 0. I just setted the 0 as default number of the variable and added the condition to if it is 0. Nothing more. Can you help me young people? Thank you.

THE QUESTION IS: When i select the 2 option, when they finish talking, it returns to the 1 dialog, starting all again instead of stoping. Why this happens? Why stop doesn't works?

Can i change the main character talk view without having to make a whole new character? Because in my game there is a part that the character is hidding, an it's view change to the hidding view. But then when he is going to talk the character appear normally, and i want him to keep hidding, so i want to change the character talk view. If no, i will have to make another character talk it...

Hi everyone! Happy easter! (at least on Brazil...) Well, here is my character dr. Cliche. i can say thatI'm satisfied with the down view, but i'm freaking out with the sides ones. Can anyone help me?
OBS: I'm posting an image of Clerk too, because i want to make something in the same dimensions of him.

Did AGS have a maximum number for frames per room? I'm making a tip system with 3 types of tips, low, medium and full tip. Depending of the objectve, it will show a diferent bg frame.

Exemple:

Low tip, objective 1, will show frame 1.
Medium tip, objective 1, will show frame 2.
Full Tip, objective 1, will show frame 3.

Can i do this another way? Using GUIs maybe? a journal like system? Help me!

Hey AGS Folks, i'm having trouble animating a shelf...
there is a hidden door behind it, and i wan't it to go down to the floor, you know, i want the shelf to lower through the floor, i'm posting here a image with the shelf in the position and the vanish point in the middle. I'm trying to re-draw it every frame, but it's too hard and awfull to draw all the shelf contents again and again, don't you, experts, have any idea, tip, inspiration, want to make it for me ( ;D kidding, but if you want to... i accept your help), or anything to help, please.

Hey guys, i was making a bigger version of Clerk (my game's hero) for a cutscene, but it isn't working! Lo_Res_Man was helping me, WAS helping me, because he disappeared. Well, he's style is totally diferent from mines, so as you can see i'm having some problems with turning the character bigger, it doesn't look the same character. Can some expert (or almost expert) help me? Thank you very much.

Hey folks, how can i create a box where the player can write some notes to help through the game. In my game the player has a diary, wich has all the objectives and tips to the player, and i wanted to add a chapter when the player can type in the book. Some help please?

Hi Folks! I need to make my npc character walk toward the player, wherever he is, so i used something like:

cNPC.Walk(cPlayer.x, cPLayer.y); (Not the exactly code, it works perfectly)



but then the npc moves EXACTLY to the position of the player, and this feels weird, so i want him to stay in front of, not on, the character. How can i do this? I thought in making this way

int player.x
int player.y

and then remove a little (5 or 7) from it before moving, but if the player is on a egde?
i'm unsure, please help me ;)

Hey, as the title said, when i click on my iten cursor image (with a pointer to make the clicking easier) and i save the game, when i open the game again the hotspot isn't where i put it! It's on the middle, but i putted it on the left! God dammit, can someone help me??

Hi, i'm creating this basement background, but i'm without any inspiration, i googled some images of basement's but nothing that look like mines, what can i add to it? It's the background good by the way? I wanted to add a walk-behind area with some boxes to add more immersion to the room. What can i add that may have in a basement? Help me please!
