The saga of the ancient celtic tribe continues with Celtic Chaos episode 2 : fishermen's fiends

After the adventure of Nektom, the strong, brave and stupid miner, the saga continues with Limfor, the slighly smarter and less strong and brave fisherman. Since the other celts never take Limfor with them when they pillage the nearest towns, he is chosen to bring an important message to the druid of the neighboring town. But it's not so easy for a Celt to be on a diplomatic mission...

Well, soon we have to choice to honor games that were outstanding in particular aspects.

Ethan Damschroder just gave me an idea:

Also, if there was a category for worst designed main giant foyer room I'd nominate it for that but oh well...   ::)

Tell me what awkward categories we have to invent, so that your game surely would win.
- I would like to nominate my game 'Minor Minion' for best puzzles including guts as an object.

Go on!

Sorry for the noobish question:

How can I change the 'realname' of a character in the game? I searched the forum for the question but the answers are too old to work.

There has been a lot of discussion about the panel review of the McCarthy Chronicles.

I think it's best we discuss the function of the panel review in a new thread.

One problem for me is, that its some kind of distortion of competition. Some games get a quick good panel rating and that boosts the download a lot. But other games have to wait several months. The panel review is a sole opinion that influences the advertence for a game a lot.

I thought that the user ratings and good comments are the main influence for high downloads. But since I have released a game with a really high user rating (86%) and nice comments there must be something wrong with my theory. Even games with a one-cup-rating and comments that basicly say "this game is unplayable" have about the same number of downloads.
Well, I'm not sure what influences the dls the most, but it seems like the panel review is a stronger factor than the user ratings and in my opinion the user ratings are more representative.

Sorry for the unspecific topic.

I use a specific 'Take/use'-Animation very often in my games. So I often have to copy commands like this in my script:
player.LockView(65);
player.Animate(2, 5, eOnce, eBlock);
player.UnlockView();

I'm sure there's a simple way to make this more easygoing for me. I would like to replace chains of command like these by a shorter command like: player.takeright;
What do I have to do?

Of course, everybody wants to know what happend 500 B.C. somewhere in Bavaria, where the game
Cold Meat
took place ;D. Soon will be the time to explore more secrets in the next episode of 'Celtic Chaos'.

Episode one: cold mead showed you the world of Nektom, the strong, brave and stupid miner.
Soon the saga continues with Limfor, the slighly smarter and less strong and brave fishermen.
Since the other celts never take Limfor with them when they pillage the nearest towns, he is chosen to bring an important message to the druid of the neighboring town. But it's not so easy for a Celt to be on a diplomatic mission...

Progress:
- graphics 99%
- puzzles 95%
- scripting 95%
- music 100%
- story 100%

Release date: january 2010

Pete is a lazy guy who lives in a small town in bavaria and loves heavy metal music and fast food. Today is the grand opening of the first fast food restaurant in your town, so Pete knows what to do.
But there is one big problem. The restaurant seems to be build on a ancient burial ground and zombies rose from their graves. So Pete has some options:
a) Look for food somewhere else.
b) Learn to cook for yourself.
c) Help the zombies having a proper burial ceremony.

It's an adventure, so you know which option Pete will choose.

Time to meet some old friends... some really old friends. People who played 'Cold Meat' have met some very oblivious zombies. Celtic Choas takes you back to the year 500 B.C. in the lifetime of the zombies. The hero of the first episode is Nektom, the strong, brave and stupid miner.

Download

P.S: I know the number of people who played 'Cold Meat' isn't that big, because it's not released yet. But it will be soon.

So, this is the first time to host a competition for me. I hope the idea is new for a competition.

Create music that sounds typical for a certain decade between 1900-2000.

For example you can:
- swing like the thirties
- rock'n'roll like the fifties
- synthesize like the eighties

Minimum lenght of the music is one minute.

I hope this isn't too hard and that there will be some entries.

 ??? I'm really confused.

I want to turn of dialog options permanently. I used the command 'option-off-forever X' and it worked.
But it doesn't work for new dialogs, although I'm using the exact same command and I can't see typos.
In the new dialogs it runs the script as if I used 'option-off X'.
I don't get it...
