If it's for a smaller child that will play with it roughly I would go with paint. I'd only go with embroidery if I thought the kid would take good care of the toy, since it's a lot of work to put down to have it be ripped apart.  8-0
But you should do what seems more fun and exciting for you. I think paint will be better for a bit more "realistic" feel, and embroidery for a more whimsical feel with some fun pattern.

Last year I finished a game  I started working on several years ago. I've always seen the game as a "series" and after I finished the game last year I was inspired to keep going.
I've reworked some of the graphics, the characters especially (Let's think of the first game as a non aired pilot episode. ;) )

So I now present to you: Agent Hudson - Chapter 1: Eye of Newt

You play as Agent Hudson with the BI, trying to solve a murder case.

The resolution of the game is 960x540, but personally I find it looks best in 1920x1080.
The story and sound are 100% done, graphics and code maybe 50% (estimation is not my strong side.)

I hope you enjoy it, guys!
As said, the story is a bit rough, I didn't want to change too much since I just wanted it finished.

This could be seen kinda like a pilot episode, I'm already working on the "real" first episode and I got new improved actors and hopefully a much better story. :-D

Completed Game Announcements / Agent Hudson

Several years ago I started making a game, I was of course not satisfied with the first version so I started on a new version a couple of times.
Of course I never finished the game, until today! I decided to not change much and just complete what I had so the story is a bit rough.
I'm very helpful for the help I got all those years ago, making it possible for my main character to go from
a guy with a quagmire-chin and a bicycle walk, to quite the handsome fella.

Enough talk, I now present to you: Agent Hudson

You play as Agent Hudson with the BI, trying to solve a murder case.

I've tried the 3.3.3 and 3.3.5 versions (both the regular and the mp3 free), I have the project in a custom folder C:\custom\custom\gameproject

When I run the game the first time I see it in the task manager, then I close the game and it goes away.

EDIT: I found the problem! I turned off the antivirus and now it works. I use Panda Free Antivirus.
I used to have Avast and I don't remember if I've used AGS after I switched but Avast never gave me any problems.

The time doesn't seem to matter, and it doesn't matter if I change anything either. :-\

Hello everyone! Today (after using AGS for a long time on my PC), upon running a game project, I was greeted with this screen:

(System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process)

When I start the editor I can run the game once, but if I then close it and run it again I get the error.

If I restart the editor I can run the game once, but after that I get the error.

I tried running another project: same result. I tried installing another AGS version (zip): same result.

I've looked at the processes in the Task Manager but I didn't find anything out of the ordinary.

It is weird because I am not sure what caused it, as I said AGS editor was functioning pretty much flawlessly.

What can I do?

The difference between the cat styles is cause I can't manage to do it better in the front view.
I've looked at a bunch of cats and videos and also other pixel cats etc. But my cat is so small so it doesn't help me that much unfortunately. :(

Critics' Lounge / Help with a little pixel cat
Tue 28/10/2014 22:29:57
Hey you wonderfully talented people! So I decided on making a game were cats play a big part, just to realise that I'm very bad at pixeling cats. (roll) So now I've come to ask for help.

The sideview has been the easiest and I'm ok with what I've managed to do so far (but wouldn't say no to something better of course). But the front view, oh the front view (and back). I've tried to make it match the type of view I have for the humans but it just looks weird and bad. I've realised that since he's smaller than the humans you should see some of his back too but I don't think that will help my skills. ^^

So enough talking let's look at what I have. I thought it could be good to show a background and character also so you see the perspective and style etc.

My friend AprilSkies told me it was all based on Eternally Us. I thought it over and, well, it still didn't make much sense to me.

I don't always share Dualnames humour, but that does not mean I can decide what his jokes are about.
As Monsieur OUXX has already explained, the joke wasn't "tihi boobies" etc.
It's ok to not like the joke or not understand it etc, but deciding what his joke is about?
It's not really up to anyone else than Dualnames.
The joke originated with Eternally Us, and then people kept asking for lesbians.
He wanted to make the community members happy, just as you are asking of him now,
if it was wrong then, why should he do it now?
It was pointed out here in the thread that the audience cheering for lesbians wasn't appreciated also,
but this seems to have turned into some one way rage against Dualnames and that is just not fair at all.

What's even worse, you put on screen images of stereotypical lesbians.
Actually, they weren't even lesbians: they were just straight girls making out for the sake of male audience.

We surely have different views of what is a stereotypical lesbian, but does that really matter?
And why does it matter so much if they are not lesbians?

the gay for pay lesbians

Dualnames had women test the ceremony and say their opinions on the lesbian part (which they were ok with),
I also don't care about that part. So I'm quite uncomfortable that this thread is making it seem
like every woman in this community has a problem with it.
(though I guess not every woman since you only awknowledge two sexual orientations)

What I do have a problem with, especially when you are speaking up for women, is this negative attitude towards women that get paid to do sexual acts with other women regardless of their orientation.
Regular actors pretend to have other orientations all the time,
I don't mean that you should have a negative attitude towards them,
I'm just saying it's very hypocritical if you don't.
Maybe this is seen as off topic but since it seems to be a very important statement,
I feel it's ok for me to comment on this.

Does anyone here play league of legends? I've recently started playing it (I'm at level 15) and it would be nice to have some more people I know to play with, and less random people. :) BouncingBunnies is my name on there.

Hey guys, I bet you love to draw hair! I don't though and I'm having some troubles.
I think I've managed quite ok with this dude though, except his left view, I just don't know how to deal with it. (wtf)
Do you have any suggestions?
