There is legal precedent in the US for the protection of someone's voice going as far back as 1988. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midler_v._Ford_Motor_Co.)

Separately, and in my own opinion, the issue of AI is directly tied to the issue of labor. Currently and unfortunately, the technology seems to be largely driven by folks who seek to avoid having to employ and pay people. I think you're better off reaching out to friends and folks in communities like this, who'd likely give their services for free or cheaply.

Spotting it at a used book store, I recently read a novelization of Alien Isolation, one of my all time favorite video games. I didn't realize they still did novelizations... I don't know if I could recommend it, but it was surprisingly ok because it (almost laughably) stuck so heavily to the game which is itself fantastic. So much so, that at one point the book gives the actual instructions for assembling a smoke grenade like in the game. I was glad to see the novelization genre alive.

Check out Densming's tutorial videos. Extremely helpful. They'll take you through everything you need.

Ditto, on the backgrounds. Very pretty and it's a shame things didn't work out.

Jokes for when the player clicks on their own character - joke about touching yourself a must.

The player must pick up a stick at some point.  Great for poking things. Also can be turned into a fishing rod with a bit of string.

The search is down for me as well.

Seems pretty straightforward to me. New King's Quest? Yes please. Telltale will receive my dollars.

Commercial.  First part was great.

To whom do I send my pants dry cleaning bill after this announcement?

Should have thought of the clickable option!  Thanks.  Yeah, the invisible characters are saying random things through a door.  Thanks all.

Using a @OVERHOTSPOT@ GUI with label to hover over hotspots (etc) and get their description.

The problem I'm running into is that it's picking up characters who are not visible.  Is there a way to get the GUI to ignore them until they're visible?  Thanks!

They're in the defaults folder in sprites.  Right click and "export sprite to file".

A wonderful game.  Overwhelming in the freedom it gives you in such a tight space.

Thanks guys - quite helpful!

I've created a user mode which has a corresponding image in the icon bar.  Have managed to get it working beautifully.  Now, I don't want the user mode to be available in the beginning of the game but later at a chosen moment.

How would I hide this user mode in the icon bar and later make it available?  A gentle push in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yikes.  Sorry, that's definitely my fault.  Was just trying to stay out of people's way.

I've set up a castle in faaaar northwest and have been slowly digging a tunnel back to my spawn point. Ugh, all that work...

Oh no! This is awful!  I spent two hours last night digging, got a ton of gold, diamonds, and red stone and it didn't save any of it!!!

I emailed them that evening.  They responded and fixed the problem very quickly.  Just finished Part 1, onto Part 2, woo!
