General Discussion / Re: London Riots

That's the thing though, isn't it? It's not like a protest like the Greek do it, it's more like a pointless violence riot and an excuse to smash buildings. This is what the student protests turned into a while ago. I don't know if it's a British thing or a British youngster thing, but it doesn't seem they are actually protesting against something, rather than just randomly trying to show that they are above the law...

I'd love to see Matthew Reilly's Temple or Kate Mosse's Labyrinth being made into a game (the second one would work more as a quest, me thinks).

I can't think of any old tv shows right now, I mostly watched soap operas when I was younger.

What about Memento, does that count as an old film?

Monkey Island and Grim Fandango have some really decent music.

I was always a fan of the Need for Speed soundtracks, used to play the game only to listen to the music. :)

Myst and Sanitarium also have some good tunes.

*I just noticed it said adventure game, so I guess the NFS suggestion is not quite valid, but still - pretty good music on there.

vicky, christina, barcelona LOL - that is, if you want to play something meaningless and a waste of time...

seriously, though, inception might not make a bad game, as well as minority report and the rome apartment
i think one i'd like to see is the adjustment bureau, i think it might make a nice quest kind of thing, especially if they put more action into the whole door/corridor thingy..

yeah, exactly, another way to have people's inane witterings spouted at you endlessly. reminds me a lot of that advert 'just bought broccoli LOL' even though the dog in a wig is actually pretty cool.

(better?!)

News Corp has taken a beating here, but I think what's interesting is the reactions.

I think in the UK people are kind of being naive to think that Murdoch and the last..4? 5? Prime Ministers were not in close contact, not to mention that Murdoch's minions were helped by members of the police in order to get scoops.
Dunno what the legal position is here so i will add an 'allegedly' to that
