I have a mirror available now at http://www.talesofinterest.com/no-action/

Would a DOS executable work better on Linux?  :-[

:D Thanks for the feedback everyone!  I'm glad there weren't TOO many bugs.. (I'll try to fix those crashes in a newer version, perhaps with a German translation.)

but I'm super thrilled with the response here, it's very satisfying to finally have it available for everyone to click through.

I'm trying to take a break from computer-drone status for a while, but I'm anxious to build on what I've learned from this project and get started on some new ideas I have!

I recently finished a project I've been working on.. I would consider it a beta version but it's complete and playable as is.

A website with screenshots and the link is up here...

The download is about 6 megs, TYIA to anyone checking it out.

'read_gui: unknown version, update this program'

Hmm.. I just tried out the new version (3a, the link in the first post) and it worked the first time, loading my current game from a copied folder no problem.. close AGS, go get a drink..

now I'm back and I just tried to open my game by choosing the correct folder on the list (the copy of my game i had loaded earlier), and it gives me that message and closes.  I'm using windows 2000, I haven't been following this thread, but i didn't see anything about this after skimming through all the pages, and I haven't had a problem updating my AGS games in the past.

can't be all negative with it though, awesome additions once again, being able to add more objects really helps me out.

AGS Games in Production / Re:Revenants

Very cool, I just played the demo after watching the movies and thought it was really great.  The flashlight, footsteps, and sounds really make it very interesting and different than most adventure games I've played, I really like how you're taking the survival/horror to 2d, I think it's much more interesting that way, makes it more adventure gamey (a good thing!)

If you're interested in feedback, the only thing that I would really suggest (I believe it was mentioned in your gaspop forums as well) would be to make it more clear, perhaps via a cursor change, where the exits were.  The two that I had problems discovering were the kitchen-> pantry and the going off to the left from the first room in the game (that one is also tricky because you can kind of get up on the porch and it's not immediately clear you can walk over there.  But maybe it's not such a big deal since I did eventually figure them out.

Although on that note, I'm not sure I actually figured out everything in the demo, it sounds like you're able to do some combat stuff, but I never got to that point, I mostly wandered around picking up everything in site looking for puzzles and saw the creepy guy go by the door before I hit F10 trying to save and got dumped (probably should add a confirmation there, but this is a demo).  What's the trigger to "investigate" that appearence?

But in total, I really liked the presentation, interface, flashlight, controls, sounds etc. and in general, the commitment to making and finishing a GAME.

I really liked the voice acting in this, what program(s) did you use for the recording of the policeman and grandma zombiekiller?   Any special audio equipment?
