Wow, that comes as a pleasant surprise! I supported the game and mourned the fact that it didn't reach the kickstarter goal. I was very happy to hear that you still worked on it. And now it's here! Wonderful, I'll buy it immediately. Congrats to the release!

Quote from: eri0o on Tue 27/12/2022 18:51:51@Athanor , do you kill the app between sessions? Meaning, using the button/gesture that shows things loaded in Android, and swiping to kill the app.

Like, if you kill the app, does it fix for you?

Also, are there other configurations that "resurrect"/"reset", or only the touch method resets for you?
I did both - quitting the app via the device's back button and tapping "exit game" and killing the app by swiping. There is no difference.

I'm not even sure if it really resets the configuration. The mouse setting doesn't seem to be resetted when I quit the app because it's still enabled when I start the app again and enter the touch-to-mouse settings. So it seems to be enabled but will not do its job until I enter the settings for touch-to-mouse and leave them again before starting a game. Strange.

Quote from: Athanor on Tue 27/12/2022 15:12:11I'm running the latest version of the APK (3.6.0.39) on my Samsung Tab A (2019). Every game runs without problems, but there seems to be an issue with the touch-to-mouse emulation. The only option that allows the imitation of a right click (by taping with both fingers on the screen) is the "Two Fingers (tap to click)" option. The "One Finger" option doesn't seem to allow for a right click. Now whenever I restart the AGS app I have to configure it again even though "Two Fingers" is selected in the preferences: In order for it to work again I have to first select one of the other options (either "One Finger" or "off") and then immediately re-select "Two Finger". Then I can start the game and use right click. If I don't reconfigure it this way everytime I start the AGS app, I'm unable to use right click.

Hmm, so, this sounds like preferences (or certain option) are not applied after you start again?

It seems like that, yes. But something is rather strange: "Two Fingers" is still selected if I enter Preferences. After some more trying I now noticed that it's enough to just enter the "touch-to-mouse" part of preferences and leave it again. I don't even have to change anything on the configuration (contrary to what I wrote above). Just entering "touch-to-mouse" seems to be enough to (re-)activate it. So what I basically have to do is to enter "touch-to-mouse" everytime I start the AGS app.
It's no big deal, but I thought I still post it here.

I'm very interested in the setting and I really like the handpainted artstyle. It looks very unique and original. I look forward to more screenshots.

I don't like DRM, but I still use Steam. I have a simple rule: If a game I get on Steam uses Steamworks-DRM, then I'll refund it immediately. If after downloading I can run the game without the client running in the background, it's DRM-free. Thankfully many developers, especially indie developers, don't use Steamworks DRM.

Thank you so much @DrSlash for continuing to iron out the (very few!) bumps in your lovely remake! I really appreciate that.

Congratulations to the release! That's a wonderful surprise and I really like the fact that you carefully modernized this classic without changing the atmosphere and aesthetics. I especially like that there is an option to play without the terrible Sierra dead ends. And, lazy as I am, I really appreciate the point and click-controls. Oh and I LOVE the MT32-music and the atmospheric environmental sound effects! Well done! :)

Man this looks so good, Arjon. I have a special fondness for TI-83, too!
Me too! I'm just playing through some of the great RPGs (Reuben 1-3, Joltima, Dead Eyes, Verdante Forest, FF: Tales of Magic 2, Marc the Superkid) on my trusty TI-84 Plus SE and having a blast. Desolate is one of the most refined games on that very underrated platform. The atmosphere is top-notch but I think the addition of sound and a better AI can greatly enhance the game.

I hope bug squashing is going on smoothly, I can't wait to try your take on Desolate. :)

Yeh, I think most of it is tackled now, so you can expect a release soon  :)
Wonderful to hear!  ;-D

The RPG "The Verdante Forest" would deserve a remake too but I guess it would be quite a bit of work...
Very nice Zelda-ish game. Who knows I might give it a try one day...
Zelda-ish appearance indeed, but the combat system is turn based and pretty well made. I'm just digging through the archives on ticalc.org once again... man that's a treasure trove of interesting game concepts...
I hope bug squashing is going on smoothly, I can't wait to try your take on Desolate. :)

Agreed, Desolate is one of the best TI83 games, so IMHO it deserves a Windows & Linux port.
Maxcoderz, the crew behind Desolate, created some of the most astonishing things on the TI-83/84. The RPG "The Verdante Forest" is another game that really uses every last bit of these calculator's abilities. That game would deserve a remake too but I guess it would be quite a bit of work...

Desolate is a great game, one of the best on the TI-83/84 for sure (which is quite something as there are tons of interesting and well made games for these devices), very polished and atmospheric. I'm eager to play your remake, the additional features sound reasonable and may enhance the overall experience quite a bit! And I do appreciate you stay so close to the original graphic-wise, the ZX-Spectrum-version just doesn't look that much like Desolate to me in comparison.

Congratulations to the release Laura! I'll celebrate your beautiful game this night with a cup of the finest Black Tea. Can't wait to play it and delve into this gloomy and dark atmosphere. :)
