Quote from: Crimson Wizard on Fri 09/08/2024 19:00:56Could you clarify, is this about AGS Editor, or running game?

Not the game window the application window of AGS editor.

Quote from: Crimson Wizard on Fri 09/08/2024 19:00:56Because we do not control the size of exit button, it's a standard window button, as created by the operating system.

if that was the case why are all my other windows sized correctly and get closed when I misclick on AGS? It's ONLY AGS that has this issue, firefox, discord, paint, file windows all are sized correctly.

I use two monitors, just in general and there's a Slight problem with AGS's exit button when having extended screens in that it's Slightly not long enough, causing me when I'm going to close the application to misclick and click that slight bit of white between the close button and the edge of the screen closing any window I have open behind it as the application behind it does not have the same issue.

It's such a small issue but it's enough to cause me annoyance having to reopen whatever window i had open behind it.

that worked thank you!

By default when you right click it cycles through the cursors, i want to add a new cursor and i've got it all working but I can't find where to add it to the right click cycle?

Thank you for your time.

I have an OLD OLLLD project from 2.3 version of AGS and I was hoping that someone might still have the AGS 2.3 or even slightly newer, I tried 2.72 which was available to download but it hit a Ton of errors trying to update it

I found this page, but the links are dead and leads to 404s

If anyone has a copy of 2.3 AGS I would greatly appreciate it, thank you for your time

I found this petition for Gabriel Knight 4 to implore Activision to make another game in the series. It's already gotten over 400 signatures in just 24 hours!

Is this still open? I'd be able to code something like that if you still need.

I can for sure see what you mean! That looks way better with the lower angle :o

I'm not much of a background artist and i'm mostly just learning as I go.

Yea the isometric view isn't intentional i'm just trying to get the hang of making backgrounds and all this feedback is wonderful and helpful! :D thank you very much! I think i'm getting a bit better with each feedback!

I really appreciate everyone helping me out with this, I'm ending up putting a lot of work on this hobby project but I hope I can finish it so I can share the end product! What I should really do is invest some time into looking up background tutorials on tutorial. Thank you all for being so patient and helpful ^^

I fixed up the grass a little bit, and i even made a new background, doing my best at perspective ^^

(The inside of the one shop isn't finished yet. I still have to add in what it looks like in the inside thus there's nothing there :) Also going to add more details to the buildings so they're less flat)

Cleaned up the tree, and made it less blocky. And now a boulder to fill out that empty space a bit. Some grass too, not too sure how to do the grass pixelated but i think this fits alright.
#12
Nah not intentional, just had to make it double the size because i originally made it too small. I was looking at it after I posted it and I'm planning on going back and re-shading and making it look less blocky, because despite my best efforts it still doesn't quite fit xD

Also i did save the sky separate planning on using it somewhere later.

This is what i've worked out so far, the grey house is still wip, need windows and maybe a bit of roof on the edge there,

Do you think the perspective is better now?

#14
ooh that mock up might be quick but it does make it look a lot better, in terms of perspective :0

i might just use that as a base to work off of, if that's ok with you, i've been curently working on getting the tree to fit better with the style, cleaning it up and making it actual pixel art,
#15
Ah I get it, I didn't learn perspective much in school (except a slight bit in grade school) but i understand.

As for the first picture is a very tall building, well at least very high up. So that makes sense at least lol.
#16
I get it now! That makes sense, and yea the tree doesn't match, I wanted to keep it as my sister drew the background originally, but honestly I think it's because I'm terrible at foliage xP

I can see it now that it's been explained a bit more, I didn't quite get it at first. So either change the perspective of the house (which then would clash a little bit with the other perspectives) or change the horizon line? Would the horizon still be visible or just be gone entirely?

Like if I had the horizon here instead would that work?

I am working on animations and making it a bit more fluid, i'm going to change the animation where he lifts his hand to be a bit more than just that

I never noticed the isometric view not fitting the character or anything like that it all looked fine in game.

As for the for the sky or horizon in the last picture i don't quite understand..? How wouldn't it be visible? Sorry ^^;; I just don't see how that works if it was just grass

This is how it looks in game:

Critics' Lounge / Loooking for some critiques.

I'm trying to solo a project and wanted some feedback on my backgrounds and characters so far.

Here is the main character.

Backgrounds:

In the game there is a window over that random square of outside.

The last background I know I need to fix the grass on, it's a bit of a WIP the feedback would be for the house/sky

Hello! We're currently a team of two looking for someone to help out with a practice project together. We're planning on making a 1940s Noir Detective game!

I would be doing the programming and scripting and luisdementia is providing the story, dialogue and music!

We need someone to join us to draw our characters and backgrounds. I can do inventory items, and icon sprites. It's mostly the larger assets we need help with!

This unfortunately is not a paid position and we're just looking for someone to join in who wants to help hone their skills and practice! So if you're interested you can either reply to this post, or contact myself directly! Hope to hear from you soon!

Hello my name is Kassandra Ost

I can help out with coding and scripting.

Currently my skills are limited but I'm posting this in hopes someone with a small hobby project who needs help will respond. The reason being is I learn best from experience, so this case being my services are currently free, but still amateurish.

I am also able to do basic sprites.
