Thanks all, you have been most helpful! :-D

I really should, it's just that I just started doing these things, so I didn't really have any idea about what to do (other than drawing.)
So I think I'll re-do it, with the right resolution and fixing the perspective (think I have to make the lines parallel). :undecided:

Could you post a smaller version? It's a bit hard to see what is going on there right now.

woopsies, hope the new one is better!

Thanks for the advices!

Yeah, I guess your right. Getting the older art-style might take a bit more research. I had a felling the perspective was off, I have to look into that.
I just scanned in my drawing and opened it up for editing, but perhaps I can do some rescaling.

Critics' Lounge / How to improve my scenes?

Hi!

I started drawing some scenes for my first game, and now started coloring them. It is, however, beginning to look a bit silly (laugh)

I would love to have a more traditional look to my scenes and sprites (like monkey island, gabriel knight etc.) I think some of the problem lies in the thick lines. Some older games doesn't seem to have outlines at all. I tried getting rid of them, and just using a darker color around them, but it just didn't seem right at all. Hope this is information enough, as to the style I'm going for. :cheesy:

EDIT: I forgot! Originally the colors was intended to be used as base colors, thought it would be easy to just shade and add light, but is this the right way of doing it?

Regards,
