Great utility Pau!

To add to TK's wishlist, It'd be great if the menu appeared in the center of the screen when you load it - for me it generally appears in the upper left. If the weblinks opened full screen it would also be nice.

Not to complain, though. Again, great job.

Great idea for a game.

I would style the characters more like this:

Egyptian art styles would create a really unique look for the game. With those big, weird eyes and both feet pointing the same way all the time. (it would also be easier to animate this way I would think)

terranrich-

The character animations are wonderful. Might I ask what software was used to create them?

Thanks TK, but I'm new to scripting ...could you go into more detail?

Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for.

However, after the animation runs the character returns to his (0) loop  - down view - instead of the direction he was facing before...how can i fix this?

I have a question and I was unable to find an answer to it elsewhere...

Is there a command that will return a variable for the loop that the player character is in or the direction they are facing? I am trying to do a few different things, one of which is an idle animation. For example, a character scratching his head  -I would like to run one loop of this animation if the character is facing right, and another for the left. I can't find any functions that will do this, but I'm certain there must be a solution. It could be used for talking loops also...something like this:

if GetCharacterLoop ()==2 {SetCharacterIdle(EGO,12,30);}
if GetCharacterLoop ()==4 {SetCharacterIdle(EGO,13,30);}

Any help?

The game is beautiful. Continue with this level of quality and you will have a great game...

But make the SFX for that chirping frog less freqent! It started to really drive me nuts!

My game reminds you of a norwegian guy dressed like a chicken??

Sockmonkey's are kind of commercial and kind of not.

It's the kind of thing that grandmothers make for kids. They used to actually be homemade from socks, but I think some are mass produced nowadays - and the company that manufactures that particular kind of sock (with the red heel that becomes the mouth) market sockmonkey kits so that you can make your own.

On the other hand, its not a corperate logo like Pokemon, and not everyone is familiar with them (even in the US).

I think it must be, because it changes to the talk-to icon for me and that it what initiates the dialog. However, I didn't use NARRATOR in the dialog and am still having this problem.

The game is 640 X 400, so filesizes aren't TOO big, and the game still looks nice.

Thanks Ben,

Yea I took all the photos myself with a digital camera. I animated the monkey by setting the camera on a tripod and configuring it to take a photo every 5 seconds. Then I stood beind him and held him in walking positions. Then, I painted out everything but the SM in each frame and there it was. There are 11 frames to this side view. The UP and DOWN views are also finished, but I'm still working on the diagonals. It's tedious, but I'm almost there...

The fonts are a bit small...When I tried to drop in larger fonts the characters had annoying, white outlines around them so I went back to the default font for the time being.

Just wanted to update with my preliminary main character animations. I am also going to populate the game with modified characters using the same loops. Keep in mind these are GIFs, and look much nicer within AGS.

Comments please.

What is the make and model of your tablet? I'm considering getting one myself...

This works perfectly! Exactly what I was looking for. You've saved my game.

Thanks!

Hey guys!

I have been trying for days to do this (in a simpler way) with no luck. I am trying to make a character pace between two points within the same room (as though he is guarding something)...I've tried all of the solutions listed here with no luck. I get either one of two possible outcomes, 1. the NPC follows the path perfecty, but the player character cannot move or 2. The NPC seems to run in place. Here is my code as it stands, perhaps someone can see what I cannot. (the character is COP and the coordinates are 74, 169 and 259, 155 (the characters starting position)

THANKS!

 // script for room: Repeatedly execute
MoveCharacter (COP, 74, 169);
MoveCharacter (COP, 259, 155);

}

Thanks, Pumaman.

Also, you fly like a moron.

I'm am putting together a dialog and it is working perfectly EXCEPT that when I change topics (using goto-dialog ) my cursor changes from my pointer arrow into the speak-to icon.

Any idea what might be causing this? I'm stumped.

This game is AMAZING. It could truly have been a LucasArts adventure back in the day.

Great work, guys!
