In regards to the multiple endings:

Spoiler

Yes, there are only two endings.

They depend on two parts. First, after the section with four puzzles, depending on what dialogue option you pick, it allows you talk with the main villain. After that, if you choose the right options during said conversation, it takes you to a different ending. If you fail, it takes you to the normal one.

Hopefully that made things clearer!

A Curious Silence (and the screams it hides) - A First Person Horror Adventure

Wow, been a while since I posted here, hasn't it? Anyway, I originally intended this to be a smaller, more experimental project, but it kinda got out of control and I'm releasing it FAR later than I originally planned. Regardless, I hope you enjoy it.

Premise
An abandoned factory has been showing signs of life recently. Your team is sent in to investigate the situation, but all of you will soon discover secrets that humanity was never meant to find out…

Further details regarding story and characters can be found in the included instruction manual.

Features
* first person viewpoint
* multiple endings
* original soundtrack

While this game is not a direct sequel to my previous project, Cauchemarionto, and a knowledge of that game's backstory is not needed in order to fully enjoy A Curious Silence, you might want to consider both games together.

UPDATE: If the soundtrack was to your liking, now it's available on Soundclound. Also feel free to modify and use any of the tracks in any way you may like:

Well, this is my first game, so I guess it's fun to participate :).
Anyway, for your consideration...

Cauchemarionto

A surreal horror-comedy adventure game, about a nondescript amnesiac in an even more nondescript world.
Features:
-rather amateurish graphics
-somewhat crude gameplay
-story with inconsistent tone
I can't think of anything for it to be considered for, except probably Best Short Game or Best Side Character(s).
It can be downloaded from here:

A CURIOUS SILENCE

CONCEPT:
ACS is a first-person horror adventure game. It follows the story of Carol Chenk, a new recruit of The Agency's Strike Force.
After a failed assault on a cultist hideout, she's now stuck inside, with her squad dead and no way to defend herself.

DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS:
This is a VERY early demo, barely a quarter of the full game. The sound effects and music are placeholders and a few graphic elements are unfinished, but it is completable and mostly bug-free. I posted it in such an early state so that I can hear your opinions and know what to improve.
I will try to update the thread as much as I can.

Sorry for posting only one screenshot, but the demo is only four rooms long and I didn't want to spoil too much. I will add another if necessary.
I deeply apologize.

No they aren't.
Also, I should mention that it does the same thing when I start it outside AGS. My previous game does the same thing, but the archived version I posted on the website still works properly. Might have something to do with the file location ?

I don't know whether or not to post this on this forum or the Beginner's one, so I'll move it if necessary. Here's the problem: I was working on my game, but when I wanted to test it, it would show the window that says it's opening, and then it locks up and the game doesn't start (it appears in Task Manager, though). I got it to work once :), but it didn't work on subsequent tries :(. Oddly enough, my previous game, which previously worked, also does the same thing, but a previous project I currently put on hold doesn't, and still works properly. I also tried reinstalling AGS, complete with deleting the registries, (still didn't work), as well as try to run the game on a different computer, where it did work. I don't know if it's a problem with the computer (I tried running it with a different account, same result), or a problem with the code.
Does anyone know what the problem might be ? I am running Windows 7.

You are not supposed to get past the blue line. What you actually need to do is:
Spoiler

use the button on the panel and then use the panel normally.

For you and anyone else that gets stuck I highly recommend Bulbapuck's 'let's play'.

This was very good for a first game, I really enjoyed it. The puzzles and pacing were nice and made for a quite relaxing experience. Story was good too, the only complaint I have is that sometimes it wasn't obvious where you could and couldn't go, as an example:

Spoiler
The staircase going down didn't look like a staircase to me. I was looking around the room for a staircase after talking to the torture victim, but I thought to myself "No stairs here, let's move on."

I made an LP of it, if you want to watch me get stuck at those points :P: https://youtu.be/Y5pxpMO-SC4?list=PLEem6SKeUgpUs4p0U8r-SpUvR15nLhooZ

Thank you very much ! As someone who watches a lot of let's plays, this was quite surreal to watch. On the third part, I was somewhat glad you got stuck, because I didn't expect anybody to go back to the previous rooms and thought I wasted development time on them. And yes, I agree, the stairs were pretty badly done, and I should have given players a way to check what they were supposed to do. But in the end, I am quite glad you enjoyed it !

Looks like a great game. I downloaded it and started playing, but I see that on my computer the game area is a small square in middle of my screen. I've adjusted my screen resolution up and down to no avail. Is there any way to adjust this?

SHADOW
That was one of the problems I just could not fix. A workaround I found is changing the filter to 'Max nearest-neighbour filter'. If that doesn't work, try messing around with the filters until it works properly. I will try to see what causes this and release an updated version if I fix it. I deeply apologize for this.

Greetings, AGS Community ! I am sorry if this post is a bit messy, it is my first one. Anyway, this is the first serious game I have made. It is a little rough around the edges (I used a bit of the default stuff), and it was more of an attempt to see if I can make an adventure game, and I hope it paves the way for better projects. Any criticism is more than welcome, and hopefully it will be enjoyable :smiley:. Now, on to the game.

Cauchemarionto

You awaken in a odd-looking room. You have no idea who, or what you are, and are stuck with only two things in mind: in mind: your weird shape ( an odd mixture between a blue robe and two coloured sleeves, with one eye on your stomach), and the feeling that something bad has happened, yet you don't know what.
This is how your quest begins.

UPDATE: I have read about the bugs you encountered. Thank you very much. I've updated the game: fixed item bugs, tweaked a couple of things, added a few pieces of extra-dialogue and, finally, I have added a post-credits scene. Both links are updated with the new version.
