Nice! I love linear storylines with side quests, so it really seems like my type of game. Also, those backgrounds are so lively! I really like it :) .

Thanks a lot!
Yeah, I made quite an effort to make it pretty. I generally always care more about the story than about graphics of things I play, but I remember being amazed with the feel of playing an animated movie/series when I played The Curse of Monkey Island and I wanted to capture that sort of feeling here. And it's a good excuse to practice animating stuff.

QuoteWelcome to... um... posting on the forums. I can't really welcome you to the forums since you've been lurking here for so long.  (laugh)

Hehe, that's ok, I feel welcome now! Thanks everyone :D!

QuoteAs for answering that question. The answer "human" (without quotation marks) seems to always work for me.

Ummmm... nope, it doesn't for me. At least, I tried just a while ago and it didn't. I'll try once again now posting this, but it's weird...
Nope, it doesn't...
EDIT: I finally figured it out! It's "a human" ... uff... I'm a happier robo... erhm... human, now.

Hi! I recently started posting here because I wanted to put my little project where someone could eventually see it. I have had the user for a while, but most of my technical questions were solved by forum/manual digging, so I haven't needed to post for that luckily. I've been playing with AGS on and off since 2010 and I've been actively developing the game I'm working on now since 2017. I found the latest updates on the engine (modifying custom properties at runtime!) so amazing and I generally enjoy coming here and seeing how much this place has grown. I'm mostly a forum lurker, though, and may become active for a while and then go back to lurking...

I have, however, a little thing that makes it kinda hard for me to be anything close to active here and it is this question:
"Are you a human, or a robot?:"

You see, I understand this whole robot discrimination that's been going on online, since most of my kin are prone to vandalism and such, but I find this question to be terribly annoying, since I can't for the life of mine find a way to answer it. (Jokes aside, I mean it... I tried all answers that came to my mind, and non really work? I'm resorting to reload the page till the other questions appear because I haven't figured that one out and it's quite tiring having to do that every time).

Wow, this looks amazing. I wanted to do a day-night cycle, too, but right now, the sheer amount of work that would take made me shy away from it. Great work, here! I hope to see it soon.

Hi, I tested it a little but I haven't been able to finish it, yet.
I'm not sure what kind of feedback exactly are you looking for but I'll tell you the things I thought as a player would make it a better experience:
- defining unhandled events would help me know if what I tried didn't work, instead of making me think the game didn't process it because I clicked elsewhere
- the walking around being impossible to skip is a little cumbersome after I've been back and forth the same screens more than once (and I have, because I'm not really sure what I'm looking for, so I keep going around trying to find stuff I can interact with to advance), because it becomes a waiting game
- the non-interactive cactus seem to be because they have a differente palette and they pop in the screen

Still, it's a nice little game for a learning project and I can see you put attention to keep it interesting. I'd like to get to the end of it, so I'll probably try a little more tonight. Good luck!

Erhm, hi, I don't think I ever said hello here. I'm amazed and a little intimidated at the stuff I've seen in this section, but I'll show you my baby, anyway.

This I'm showing right now is the first section of what's supposed to be a much longer adventure. Still, I'm planning to launch it this year as a very small, but self-contained demo or episode. My idea is to make a nice, character driven story that could be told to children further down the line (most of the full story is already outlined and the character development mechanism is worked out, too). This part I'm showing here is just a small thing, but I'm hopeful the process will speed up as more assets are done and someday the full story will see the light of the day. For now, I have what I hope is a pretty cute, small adventure to show.

The story:
A little girl finds herself in some desert place. This must surely be a dream! Still, the dream doesn't seem to go away on its own, so she must look around for a way to get out of here, or else she will surely die of thirst like in cartoons.

Completion for this section:
Story: 100%
Art - backgrounds: 70%
Art - animation: 40%
Art - GUIs and extras: 40%
Programming: 80%

Music and sound effects are all royalty free things I've been picking up, since I can't make it myself to save my life and the process is slow enough as it is. Art and programming are basically all mine (though I do use some royalty free assets to help myself along, like with the GUIs and the like).

I hope someone likes it and I'll probably update here when this is out!
