No offense taken.  I totally understanding the problem.  I always try to search before asking and most of the time I find the answer first.  The problem I come into is not knowing what to look for.  See, I never would have thought to look for that.  And when going through everything, that never caught my attention.  When I see distributing I was thinking the actual "distribution" part, as in getting a web site, where to send it, etc.  I wasn't thinking about how to make what you want to distribute.

Most people who make games think along the same lines, I don't think the right way, lol.  It's an uphill battle because most stuff doesn't make sense to me because I'm thinking a different way.  So I really thank all of you who help me because I really need it!  Hopefully, the game will make up for it (hopefully it will be fun enough).

I would like to export what I have so far into an actual game exe file to send to my artist so he can see what it looks like.  How do I do that?  I don't want to send him the whole big agsedit files with all the individual backgrounds, but like what you get when you download a completed game.

Anyone know what I'm asking?  Thanks.

talking views?  You mean the colors?

Nope, it's set to sierra style w/background.  I even used the command to make the speech style the same gui as the text box.  But I don't mind the lucasarts style if the text would be displayed more over the characters.  Sometimes one character will say something and it will be over the other one just because of the way it's lined up.  I've tried aligning it to the left and the center but it looks off either way.

I have the sierra style with background selected but it still shows it like LucusArts style.  Does it automatically go to that when you make options in the dialogue?

Also, it looks bad because the dialogue does not appear above the characters heads so it looks like all the text is in the middle of the screen or way off away from the character.  They are different colors and all, but it still looks really funny.  Is there a way to fix this?

Bingo!  Thanks.

Thanks, let me clarify.  There are certain hotspots that I want something to happen if a certain item is clicked on it, but I want another message if anything else is clicked on it.  If I add a conditional, won't it do both?
#8
Okay, I know there's a way to make it so that everytime a hotspot is clicked on by ANY inventory item (no matter which one) it runs a command so that I don't have to program it for every individual item that may be clicked on it.  How do I do that?

Also, is there a way to make an item display a specific message when it is clicked on something I don't already have programed?

Thanks.

Yay!Ã,  It worked.Ã,  Hooray for you.

There's got to be SOME way to change that background color, though!

Edit - nm, I just made a background image for it.  It was a pain, but at least I got it done!  BTW, I have no idea what the actual default is, but it was a lot wider than "22".

After importing the default guis and basically starting over on the guis I got the buttons to now work on the inv.Ã,  However, the cursor goes to the "talk to" cursor when clicked on the hand.Ã,  I know it's using the "talk to" command, but I need the cursor to still look like hand.Ã,  This is pretty easy to do I'm sure I just don't know where to do it.

I'm still trying to figure out how to change the background to black and trying to get the inv items spacing right.

Edit - I had to change the spacing to get it right.  40x22 is NOT the default even though it says it is in the help contents.  Basically the only thing (besides changing the cursor) that remains a problem is the color of the inventory window.  It looks dumb being the same color as the rest.  I've tried the game.sierra_inv_color = 0; and it makes no difference.  I'm not sure what the problem is.

I'm trying to email it but it's 55 meg, will your email take that large of an attachment?  It's zipped and everything.  Is there another way to send it?

Wouldn't it be easier just to assign different fonts for the text boxes from the rest of the game's font?  What if I want it a different kind of font?  Is there a way to do this?
#13
It's simple.  The font I'm using has to be a certain size to fit in the buttons (example, the quit or play buttons in the exit gui.  If any larger the words go outside the buttons) but if it is that same size for the text boxes it looks funny because it's so small.

I tried testing the game and it has an error message and says the statusline may be deleted.

#15
Uh oh.  I deleted it and now it says there is an error because it's deleted.  I'm kind of scared now since I can't get it back.

Sigh, hopefully this will by my last problem for a while (knock on wood).  Is there a way to make the text boxes fade in?  I'm doing the credits and it looks bad having them just "pop" in and out.  This might be kind of obscure, but is there a way of doing this?

Yeah, I have the different size imported.  Actually, I misspoke.  I need the text box font different (globally) from all the other font (otherwise the font won't fit in the gui boxes, like the "do you want to quit" gui).

I guess I could zip it and email it to you.  What's your email address?  That would be great!

I have a new gui for the text box but I need the font size different than the size used for everything else.  How do I do this?

Hmmm, tried that and it didn't work.  I've tried that guioff just about everywhere I can think of and it won't work.  And why is it always on top of the icon bar?
