 :) Grundislav:

Just wanted to say, I've played and won all Game Episodes 1-6 (so far) of Ben Jordan. I take back what I said earlier about Ben Jordan not having enough danger - these games are so well made and exciting - AND (gulp!)  :o scary  :o too! Lots of danger! This Adventure Game series is like a thrilling Adventure Serial from the 1930's-1940's!

I am anticipating his scary adventure in Rome! I'm getting the buttery popcorn out when I play the game!

Thanks again for entertaining me!  :)

 :)

I understand the situation.

I will continue to search and consult the Forums for helpful info for my project.

It was just an idea.

Keep up the great work with AGS!

:) Thank You very much, TwinMoon for taking the time to figure that out for me!  :)

I really appreciate that! This information will greatly improve the quality of the game that I'm designing!

Thanks again...and have fun!

:) AGS is very fun and helpful with my ideas that are coming from the right side of my brain...

Just a suggestion...could Chris Jones and the AGS tech team come up with more Illustrations for the slow learners like me, (a picture is worth a 1,000 words) for the Manual. This would help greatly in showing exactly what needs to be done, I am a visual learner, and I learn best through example. For example, the steps needed to make a Customized Text box with a border that remains consistent instead of getting cut off - please design some step by step visual examples of what I need to do for for the graphical border pieces.

That would be most appreciated!  :)

Thanks for the great program!  ;)

:) Thank You for that. However, I have looked in the manual, and have tinkered with it a bit in the past. But I was experiencing some frustration, being the slow learner that I am.

What I would like to know, if it's not too much to ask, if someone could please show me graphically what the colour border pieces should look like exactly (shape for shape, size for size) as visual examples, or at least show a visual example of what I need to do. Hmmm... that gives me an idea...

 :o Oh!

Hm. But would there be a way to, like, say, if you had a shorter sentence, to have the background and border stay consistant? So it doesn't look cut off?

Here is the Dummy GUI setting:

Here is what I want the Adventure Game Text Box to look like:

Without actually doing it for me, could someone please show me the step-by-step process for designing and setting up the Text Box GUI so the text fits in the box, and the box remains the same size and shape? Please?

Thanks so much for your help!

I'm a little frustrated and puzzled; I've been attempting to research it with little success...
I'm trying to display the dialog GUI I've made, but only the Text Display Background works.

The Game is set for SierraWithBackground

I have GUI #5 (Text Box) set  for Dialog Options.

I have GUI #5 (Text Box) set for Custom Text Box.

The Background has a parchment look to it.

Everytime I start my game, and the characters speak, only their text shows, but no background GUI displays.

Please tell me how to correct this problem.

Thank you!

:D Thanks guys for all your help!

I did what you suggested... changed the bracket style...and VOILA! It saves and runs!

Problem Solved.  :)

As you can see, AGS will not let me save room 39. There is a character, a farmer with a plow, that I permanently change into a man with a lantern. Please tell me what I did wrong.  ???

Thank you!

 :) Thank you!

I can't believe I didn't think of that myself! So simple, so obvious, yet so elusive!

Thanks again, and I'll make sure to show the Forum a YouTube Game Video Capture AVI link of the progress I have made...in the future.  :)

I'm making good progress with scripting in my game, that I'm working on with the help of some friends, Knights of Kooragalot: Shield Search. I've already been using Narrator Text in the form of Dialog Text. But I would also like to include my voice as a Narrator.

??? Could someone please tell the Script command for Narrator Speech please  ???

Thanks for all your help!

Thanks! Those GIFs are helping! I have Adobe Image Ready - it allows me to open Animated GIFs into separate slides - so, I'm able to individually edit them and add detail to the pics!

Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a shot.

Also, I don't want the text to be green, I want it to be black. Would you be able to give me some advice on how to change the Narrator Text to Black?

Story: 80%
Characters: 59%
Graphics: 40%
Scripting: 25%
Music: 25%

The AGS Game is making progress. I'm learning Scripting very well now! Dualnames has been giving me some online assistance with the background art as well.

Here is a character that will appear at the very beginning of the game. It is a Peasant Farmer who makes a strange discovery that prompts a quest for rare treasure. I'm not done animating him, but I'm making progress.

If anyone can tell me how to change the narrator text from green to black, it would be appreciated. Thank you.

I don't really need help with them, but in case you are fresh with animating AGS characters and need help, use these sketches as examples!

In the game that I'm designing with some friends, Knights of Kooragalot: Shield Search, the hero rides a horse. Here is a very rough design of a man on a horse:

By wackywildcard at 2008-01-14

Could I please get some visual help on how to animate a horse more realistically, not just with the right and left side but front and back too?

I would be very grateful if some skillful artists could show some rough sketches of a horse's walk complete cycle

Thank You!

 ;) Yes DuelNames...Thank you again!

Your artistic skill as well is invaluable in advancing the progress!
