I read about the wings being in Forsigtuna at night, but I walked around town at different hours of night and never saw them. I saw an owl flying around and guards. I couldn't sneak into the wizard's tower with magic, so I assume they aren't in there. I even melted the snowman to look inside it but there's nothing. Do I have to talk to someone before they appear? I can ask the guild lady about where she's from and she says she misses it but I can't ask specifics.

I have the bug where the cat runs from me at the gates to the town and doesn't reappear at the frozen garden for me to get it again. Since this keeps me from getting the librarian to approve of me and also keeps me from getting the shopkeeper's approval (no cat paw print, thus no rune stick), does this mean I have to start the game over from basically the beginning? I am a sorceress so I can't fight Sigurd.

I went very far in the game since then before I found out that I needed to get the cat to progress.

Edit: Okay, I managed to get everyone else but those two, so I can get the Eye. :)

I've actually been trying for three days. If no one else has had this problem, it's probably on my end. But I tried downloading another file from a different site to test and it worked fine. I'm using Firefox but I'm not sure if that matters. Maybe there's a partial file of the old version somewhere that I can't find and it is keeping me from downloading the new version or something. I can't get past 2.2 MB.

For some reason I can't download this game beyond 3 mb or so from the game's website. It always times out. Is there a mirror file posted anywhere I could try?

Huh. I did some things different from the walkthrough, such as

using the spear on the growlkin and sending the captain into the temple first, and I still got a bronze rating. I recorded my captain's log whenever it would let me and I gave the wounded man something for his pain in the village. I also tried to get to know the crew. I must have missed something.

Do you always get a bronze rating at the end just because you're playing on easy mode?

What doesn't help is that there is no visual indication (that I could see) that moving the circuits around has been any help whatsoever. Neither the "power level" in the lettered column nor the number next to the letter change when you manipulate the circuits, so you don't know if you are right or wrong until you hit the diagnostic button, and if you got it wrong you have to start the whole thing over for all three columns.

Edit: Oh wait, I see that you can run diagnostic multiple times before you switch columns. Unless you're in the z column it seems.

In the newest version of AGS there's a box you can tick on the game setup window called "Side borders on widescreen monitors".

But a room can be next to a room with the same music and a room with different music at the same time. Say Room B sits between Room A and Room C, and Room B and A both play Music 1, but Room C plays Music 2. I want the music to change when going from Room C to B, but not from Room B to A, since they share music.

If I put the aMusic1.Play in Room B it will restart the music even when coming from Room A. I guess I'll have to put the aMusic.Play in the "when player leaves room" script of Room C instead of the "after fade in" script of Room A.

But sometimes there is an adjoining room with different music, so when I transition the music between rooms I have to put the aMusicPlay, right? I only want the music to restart when the songs actually change though. Some rooms share music, some rooms have different music.

I just downloaded the new 3.2 final version of AGS which converted all my "PlayMusic()"s in my rooms into "aMusic().Play"s automatically. Along with this (and with the removal of the room music drop-down in the editor for each room) the music now restarts every time my character enters a new room, even if it is supposed to be continuing the same song.


I tried fiddling with moving the Music.Play command from the "before fade in" part of the room script to the "after fade in" part and this didn't change anything. I also tried fiddling with music priorities and number of channels, but it didn't help anything. Adding more channels just got the same song stacking on top of itself when I entered a new room.

I liked the old way a song would just continue playing if the new room had the same song set to play as the last room. Is there any way to make this happen again?

As can be seen in the walk cycle drawing from that book, when walking toward or away from the camera the character needs to keep their weight balanced on the foot that is down. In your cycle he would fall over since he is "hovering" over the raised foot -- nothing is supporting half of his body.

The body compensates for the raised foot in walking by leaning onto the planted foot. In the book example you can see that a straight vertical line can be drawn from the heel of the planted foot up through the spine, dividing the body in half. When standing still, the weight is more evenly distributed between feet and the feet don't have to be directly below the spine.

I got the binding spell for the succubus but she still kills me if I use it on her and then touch the pentagram. If I use it on her and go back to the computer it just gives me another copy of the same spell. I can't find anything else to accomplish in the game at this point. I have the crowbar, handgun, gun repair kit, the staff and all the keys.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. Progress is steady. At Akatosh's suggestion, I put frames around the speech portraits.
