I like your siggy, Ben...but my favorite part about your game?

Save!    Load!    Quit!

Well...that was totally weird.

I reloaded the game and it let me put the radio away.

Sorry about all that.

*Edit*: Awesome game, man! Whether you do the sequel or not, keep 'em coming!

I know it's been over 120 days but I had to ask Eugene a question...

I've gotten the radio and know what I need to do in order to use it properly; but when I try to put my radio away after having succeeded in talking the guard out of the tower, the computer refuses to let me put it away!

(I think part of the reason is  because I got the lighter again after I made the rope cannon and the computer somehow is looping back to the previous coded commands for obtaining the rope cannon, leaving me stuck in limbo at the tower).

Any thoughts?

Hotspot has taken the http upload facility down for maintainance, it should be back up and working some time soon.Ã,  Larger uploads over http are often troublesome though, so I've written a script to handle uploads via FTP, here are the details for you to put in your FTP client:

Server:Ã,  Ã, americangirlscouts.org
Port:Ã,  Ã,  Ã, 2121
username: Your forum username
password: Your forum password

This will allow you to upload, list and delete your own files, and they'll be available at http://americangirlscouts.org/agsuploads/YourUsername
Your forum password is not stored in any way.

Limits:
You can upload mp3, ogg, mid, png, gif, jpg, exe, rar and zip files, up to 100mb.Ã,  You should NOT use this as a general uploading service, it is mainly intended as a place where we can maintain stable links to games, but screenshots, stuff for critics lounge, and so on, are also ok. If you have problems with it PM me or post here with them, it's not been heavily tested yet (although it appears to work).
Thank you, Sir Mod!

I was thinking one day--and suddenly, it hit me...

ROGER is a  human being that got Prince of Persia's head ported to himself so that he could look cool!

(I think CJ must like Prince of Persia!)

Usually dead means no one has posted for several days. After two weeks, unless it's severely important to bump, all continued conversation should be elsewhere.
Is there a Religion and Beliefs section?

jfritzyb,

This is a very old topic that has been dead for months. PMing Raggit would get you a better response and would keep dead threads dead.

also... Can't help it but...

2. Secondly, I ask you to remember what all happened in Vermont--with child molestors getting light sentences for committing different, abusive, and strange acts against children.

I remember 1 judge sentencing 1 admitted child molester to enter treatment immediately or face a life sentence. PM me if you have different data that suggests multiple judges allowing multiple rapists to go free.

1. Hmmm...I'll consider what you have said. I have another question though...is the term dead defined according to the person's interest in the topic?

2. Ok, I'll PM my sources...

Quote...in recent times I've found myself on the other side of the Christian faith, no longer believing or caring about religion, doctrine or anything else like that.Ã,  So obviously, I've got a lot of stuff to work out now.Ã,  But I realize now, I really don't have anybody to talk to, because everybody I've ever known closely is a Christian!!Ã,  If I talk to them, their solution will of course be, "Talk to Jesus."Ã,

I'd rather not go there now.Ã,  I need to try to speak to people who won't try to steer everything back to salvation, doctrine, etc.

So, for clarification, I'm no longer a Christian.Ã,  I'm kinda just sitting on the fence, I guess.

Now, what happened tonight: I was invited to go to my old school for a get together.Ã,  That school, which I attended last year, is a Christian high school.Ã,  Well, some of my old school friends and I got to talking politics, and they've never quite cared for my anti-Bush views.Ã,  After it was all said and done, we had wandered back and fourth from politics to religion, from religion to politics.

What stood out to me was, at the end of our discussion, I elaborated that I was glad they had a religion that made them happy and that gave them a purpose.Ã,  But I said, "Please don't try to influence this country and its politics and laws based on your Bible."

That didn't go over well, because evidently, this country belongs to God and we've gotta give it back to him, etc.Ã,

Despite the fact that the world is full of folks who think their ideology should be made law, it was still kind of a disturbing display of, quite frankly, obsessed fundamentalism.Ã,

These radical Christians who believe that we've got to reshape this country to fall in line with the Bible don't seem to perceive that their desire to legislate people into being Christians is blatantly unAmerican.Ã,  I said, "Well, how would you feel if I wanted to pass laws BANNING Christianity?"Ã,  And the reply was, "You'd be wrong, because this country was founded on God!"
These types seem to have a very direct and simple goal:Ã,  Sweep the entire country clean of liberals/democrats/homosexuals/non-Christians, and anybody else who they think that, because they are a political "enemy," they are also a religious enemy that must not be tolerated by any means, lest God destroy our nation.

So, part of what I want to do is measure the general opinion of these things here, so if you would, please provide a quick and simple answer to the four following questions in your post:

1.Ã,  Do the Christians (a majority) stand a chance of getting Bible-based legislation passed?

2.Ã,  Do you believe that Bible-based legislation SHOULD be passed?

3.Ã,  Do you feel that religion and politics intertwine naturally and that an American Theocracy in favor of the majority is inevitable?

4.Ã,  If a Christian juggernaut formed and began moving towards a Theocracy, what would you do? (Either to help it or stop it.)

All these things are spinning my mind around and around.Ã,  I just wanna start talking and see how you feel about these things, I'm not particularly interested in drawing sides and turning this into a debate.Ã,  That usually happens anyway, but let's just keep it calm as long as possible.

Firstly, I'd like to apologize for being very harsh, and at times, unattentive to what people had to say. I'd like to ask you all's forgiveness for acting in that fashion.

Secondly, I'd like to address a few of your issues in the best way that I know how...and that is, by asking a series of questions.

You stated earlier that at some point in the convo with your friends, you told your friends that it was great that they had a religion and all, but that they shouldn't use their religion to influence this country and its politics and laws. My question is, how would you personally go about running this country? What kind of people would you put in power over the country? What kind of laws would you set up? What would be allowed and what wouldn't be allowed?

2. Secondly, I ask you to remember what all happened in Vermont--with child molestors getting light sentences for committing different, abusive, and strange acts against children.

How would you personally go about getting these molestors under control?

3. I reiterate: How would you personally go about running a country and controlling the criminals in it? Who would you put in power over the country? What would you allow and what wouldn't you allow?

:)

BAD NEWS: This is the plot of the forthcoming game that (hopefully), will be made after I get back from college.

I'm leaving for college tomorrow and I will be three years there--coming home every now and then during some of the holidays. So I plan to get working on it a bit when I get back.

GOOD NEWS!: But don't despair--because even you, even YOU, can get some ideas and maybe, just maybe, you can make up the rest of the story!

All that aside...

You can download the trailer/introduction of the game at jfb4.tripod.com

Here are some of my immediate plans for this project:

1. Make a PLAYABLE DEMO (hopefully, will be complete by the time I'm ready to return from college after my holiday break).
2. Make the FULL VERSION of the game!

Completion?

- graphics 5%
- puzzles 2%
- scripting 0%
- music/sound 5%

So, sign my guestbook and contact me and tell me what you think of the trailer!

Once again, thanks you Chris for making such a great game engine and thanks AGS community for all your support!

:D

I know that this topic is dead and all...but I couldn't help but answer the complaint that sometimes when you imported screenshots for a game or picture to import into a game, that they came out grainy or speckled...

An innocent, but quite possibly, a stupid question: Does Photoshop have an option such as "despeckle" or "soften"?

I've used these features on my picture program (Microsoft Photo Editor) and they work WONDERS!

QuoteI am a church going person myself, but that dosen't mean I have to force it on others, or take everything so seriously. But, I won't even bother going into my beliefs, because, like yours, nobody cares....
...Lots of people go to church.

QuoteYou need to stop and realize that you are acting like you are better than others here because of your faith. You're not, so stop it. And it seems to me that life has treated you well (Sheltered) for you to make such dumbass statements as above (the one about adoption ticks me off, you have no right to judge anyone until you are put into that situation).
...Did I ever come out and say I was better then everyone else? If I have ever come out and stated such, then I'm sorry.

QuoteYou think I accepted Christ so that I could get a "better life" or "feel good"? No way! In fact, I EXPECT people to hate me for being a Christian! I've always expected it. Christ Himself even taught that people would persecute you if they persecuted Him.

QuoteThis dosen't mean that you have to make people hate you. Jesus was a good guy, you aren't being like him with your judgemental attitude. This is the Jesus that befriended a prostitute and forgave her, you sure don't seem that open-minded....

...Is that all Jesus told her?

...There was something else Jesus told that prostitute; He told her to go and sin no more.

After he told her that, He said something more to the religious leaders...

QuoteI am the light of the world: he that follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. Ã,

Jhn 8:13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, You bear record of yourself; your record is not true. Ã,

Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, [yet] my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but you cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
Ã,

Once, a rich man came to Him and said...

QuoteMatthew 19:16: Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

And he said unto him, Why do you call me good? [There is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if you will enter into life, keep the commandments. Ã,

He said unto him, Which? Jesus said, You will do no murder, you will not commit adultery, You will not steal, You will not bear false witness, Ã,

Honour your father and [your] mother: and, You will love your neighbour as yourself. Ã,

The young man said unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Ã,

Jesus said unto him, If you will be perfect, go [and] sell that you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven: and come [and] follow me. Ã,

But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Ã,

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. Ã,

And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Ã,

When his disciples heard [it], they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? Ã,

But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Ã,

The moral of the story? The rich man didn't love Jesus and he would suffer the consequences for not doing what Jesus told Him to do.

QuoteYou have a lot of gall to tell people you don't know on the internet that they are going to hell (You implied this). You don't know me, or anyone here well enough to minister to us in a public thread....
Haven't I already told you the Truth? That unless you give up your old ways of disobeying the Heavenly Father, you will suffer the consequences for it? The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

We all have lied, stolen, cheated, and the like and it is because we do these things that we will end up in hell! And what can we do in order to remedy the problem? We can't do a bunch of good things because we still have that desire to disobey Him. Therefore, it is through a self-surrender to Christ that we can be forgiven of our sins and old ways. And it is through this self-surrender that we find release from our old ways and that desire to disobey Him.

When we surrender ourselves to Him, he makes us new creatures!

"If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have past away, behold all things have become new."

Our desires change to where we want to love and please him through daily self-surrender. And that is the only key to True salvation--self-surrender to Christ.

QuoteI am the way, the Truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the father but by me.

And that, my friends, is where this next part comes in...

QuoteIf you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

THAT is your part...will you do it?

I hope you do... :)

QuoteDo they set you in front of a tv playing videos of Leave It to Beaver and other crazy propaganda? Because it seems unlikely that you ever leave your home.....
Of course I've been outside my home; I've seen what the world has to offer--and I've turned it down hook, line, and sinker. The world has NOTHING to offer me of any value! I've sought my own will before I became a Christian and I'm NOT going back!

You think I accepted Christ so that I could get a "better life" or "feel good"? No way! In fact, I EXPECT people to hate me for being a Christian! I've always expected it. Christ Himself even taught that people would persecute you if they persecuted Him.

I accepted Christ because of three things...

1. He paid my fine of disobeying Him, in full when He died on the cross for me.
2. I am forgiven of all the evil I've ever done against Him and against others.
3. I am forgiven of my past as well...

1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I've lied, stolen, cheated, and the like. I DESERVE to go to hell because of these things that I did to others. The Heavenly Father is an honest judge and will judge me according to His standards, and if I don't measure up, I'M GOING TO HELL!!!!!

...But you know, the good news is that He loved me enough to pay for my fine of disobeying Him IN FULL! I don't need to be guilty of past sins because they're forgiven when I...

1. Ask forgiveness for disobeying Him.
2. Repent (totally turn) from those things displeasing to Him.
3. Trust in Jesus the way I'd trust in a parachute before jumping out of a plane.

...I'm clean and I'm forgiven of ALL MY SINS! Why WOULD I want to go back to the way things were? I don't ENJOY doing those things anymore! I've got a clean slate!! Why would I want to go back to displeasing Him? I don't want to; I want to be different from the way I once was.

The reason I'm telling you all this is because I don't want you to go to hell; I want you to go to heaven and that's why I'm telling you this. I want you to experience what I have.

Nothing wrong with adopting--however, it would be appreciated if a parent kept their child and raised it properly. Instead of shipping them off to some foster home that could care less.

Now, you brought up an interesting point...and I'd like to share something with you since you brought it up.

It's preferred that a child have both parents, but if, let's say the father dies and the mother is the only one around, then the mother can get in league with her mother and/or her most trustworthy and close friends in order to raise her child properly.

If you will turn to 2 Tmothy 1:3-5, we read that the Apostle Paul is writing a letter to a young man named Timothy. He states that he's thankful and glad that he consistently prays for Timothy everyday. When we reach verse 5, we see him praising Timothy's grandmother, Lois, and her daughter, Eunice, for believing and trusting the Heavenly Father God to begin with.

Obviously, they had taught Timothy what it meant to trust in God and the Apostle Paul admired that trust that he had in the Lord and enjoyed talking with him about it. He loved the kid--so did his mother and grandmother. They all loved him--and admired his faith in God.

It's interesting to note that there is no mention of the father--only of two faithful and loving mothers taking great care of their child's welfare.

What can we conclude from all this?

For some reason, the father isn't mentioned--only the mothers. However, the mothers are praised for having complete trust in the Heavenly Father to begin with. And it was this faith in God that they taught Timothy--and sure enough, he followed in their footsteps.

So...if you don't know what it means to have trust in the Heavenly Father like you would trust a parachute before jumping out of a plane, then learn it. And that, my friends, is the moral of the story...

...And it is entirely up to you to follow Timothy's example--or not.

The choice is yours...

Cheers friends,

General Discussion / Re: Personal questions :)
Tue 31/01/2006 09:09:49
...Interesting that a lot of you agreed with the main crux of my issue. You all know that a child needs love and needs to be given love at a young age from their parents. However...you think that it doesn't really matter what you do in order to get the kid to begin with--or raising him. And that is astounding!

I thought you cared--I thought you had the best interests of the child at heart. I thought you wanted the child to have a happy home--where he does have a mother and father who love him enough to take care of him and tend to his needs. It's what a father and mother do best--provide for the child's needs while they grow up.

Why a mother AND a father? Because the father has a kind of authority that the mother doesn't have--and I'm sorry, but that's just the way things are. You and I both know it...and a child needs that kind of an authority figure in his life.

So, can we agree that yes, we should have the best interests of the child at heart? Don't you agree that a child should have a happy home where he has a mother and father to love him enough to take care of him and tend to his needs? And finally...don't you agree that this is one of the things these kind of parents do best--provide for the child's needs while they grow up?

....You know what? Maybe I should tell you about how I was raised so that you can see where I'm coming from with this...I had a mother and a father tend to my needs and take care of me as I grew up. My father loves my mother because I can tell and understand this fact of life--also, they're still together! And you know? I wouldn't have life any other way! The concept of two guys or two women "marrying" and "raising" children is foreign to me.

Something else...my dad and mom don't smoke, drink, sleep around with other folks, and shoot drugs. They don't physically or verbally abuse me (I regret the times I've argued and fought with them and yelled at them and whenever I do, I always apologize for it and try not to do it again.) And I do not say all this to be boastful.

.....

Unfortunately, these concepts are foreign to most people because most people don't have the kind of home I had. I don't look down on those kind of people; I love these kind of people.Ã,

...If you don't mind, I'd like to know what your background is as well. I'd like to know what aspects of your life shaped the way you believe and the way you think.

Oh, and one last thing...Have you tried the Are You a Good Person Test? I've taken it a few times and it's pretty interesting...

Cheers friends,

Sex--is it bad or great?

Sex is great!

Who do you have it with?

Your wife...

Why your wife? Why not just anybody?

Well, just sit back and think about it: You have this child who doesn't even know who his father is and is very angry and rebellious towards his mother--even going so far as to contemplate killing her! One day, he does...and is found out by the authorities and serves time for it.

He gets out of prison--and looks around and observes how a lot of people around him act. What does he do? He goes around and copies them--having sex with whomever he pleases. The result? More children are born who, one way or the other, turn out just about like their father--THEY go around doing what their father did. And soon, most of the world is filled with angry kids--PURPOSEFULLY making other folks pregnant in order to make life miserable ON PURPOSE mind you!

My dad works for a humanitarian society that takes care of women who PURPOSEFULLY inflict men with AIDS because they are so angry with the man who gave it to them, that they desire to exact revenge against any males that they seduce! Thank God that most women, who have their children at this humanitarian facility, realize the value of life and decide that they will QUIT seeking revenge against the men and take care of their children as BEST as they can!

...So, just thought I would add that to all this.

...Next question is, "How do we stop children from being so bitter?" The answer is, give them love. Give them a home where they have a father and a mother. Give them a home that can provide them with love from both of their parents. And finally...give them a home that can provide not only with their physical needs but also spiritual fulfillment.

Do you see that if we start giving children this kind of a home, that we can actually reduce all kinds of crime? Do you see that with the aforementioned love in the home, children will learn to love and get along with each other instead of fighting and quarreling with one another daily?

As for Alynn...well, he did an interesting job with hiding what he was really trying to say. But it failed near the end... ;D  Look Alynn...this bit about only having sex with your wife, isn't something only the Christians practice--around the world, people are practicing it because they know that it works! Most people aren't even Christian and yet, they adhere to this principle.

So, when all is said and done, everything boils down to this: will YOU follow that advice? Are YOU patient enough to wait until you're married before having sex? (And remember...you will reap the consequences of the choice you make...)

Hmm...

AOL is ok and so is MSN....however I prefer Yahoo! over them all!

Why is this?

I get on the messenger services, look and see if anyone is on that I want to chat with. If so, I start some chat scripts...:)

...If not, I just leave it on and wait...

They are all ok actually; however, I hear MSN is more virus proof then any other messenger service.

License Agreement? WHAT license agreement?  ;D  :D

Lol...

I use them all; double click on each one and get on-line...yeah, that's the way to go.

ICQ? I dislike ICQ because...

1. I need a more modern computer in order to install it.
2. It looks dull and uninteresting

But what do I know? I've never used it...:D

QuoteEmo Kid You are

28% Rational, 14% Extroverted, 0% Brutal, and 14% Arrogant.

You are the Emo Kid! You tend to be an intuitive rather than a logical thinker, meaning you rely more on your feelings than your thoughts. Not only that, but you are introverted, gentle, and rather humble. You embody all the traits of the perfect emo kid. You are a push-over, an emotional thinker, gentle to the extent of absurdity, and so humble that it even makes Jesus puke. (And Jesus almost never pukes, being immortal and not requiring an act of puke to dispell toxins from his corporeal manifestation.) If you write poetry, you no doubt write angsty, syrupy lines about depression, sadness, and other such redundant states of emo-being that go something like this: life is a spike / upon which i have impaled mysefl / fuck you dad So, your personality is defective because you are too gentle, rather underconfident in yourself, decidely lacking in any rational thought, and also a bit too inhibited. Plus, your poetry really upsets your father. I probably made you cry, didn't I?

To put it less negatively: 1. You are more INTUITIVE than rational. 2. You are more INTROVERTED than extroverted. 3. You are more GENTLE than brutal. 4. You are more HUMBLE than arrogant. Compatibility: Your exact opposite is the Smartass. Other personalities you would probably get along with are the Hippie, the Televangelist, and the Starving Artist.

* * If you scored near fifty percent for a certain trait (42%-58%), you could very well go either way. For example, someone with 42% Extroversion is slightly leaning towards being an introvert, but is close enough to being an extrovert to be classified that way as well. Below is a list of the other personality types so that you can determine which other possible categories you may fill if you scored near fifty percent for certain traits

Sure sure...yeah right. Lol...Most of that is wrong.
